Customers commend ARMS' surprisingly deep and fun gameplay, phenomenal motion controls, and ease of use, making it enjoyable for players of all skill levels. Many appreciate the colorful characters and find the game's difficulty to be a satisfying challenge. However, some wish for more content and find the price point to be a bit high, while others would like to see more single-player options.

Well polished, just not for me
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game is very well-polished, as most of Nintendo's first party titles. The fighting mechanics seem simple, but I can see how someone could go much deeper into this fighting system if they wanted. However, the game was not a really good fit for me. I was expecting something really fun on the level of Mario Kart. What I got was a somewhat repetitive fighter when playing the single player mode. Perhaps the multi-player and other play modes can make up for this, but I may not have the patience to go through those with such little time to devote to gaming as it is.

A fun new IP overshadowed by the Splatoon release
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.ARMS is a fun new IP that happened to come out a little earlier than Splatoon. There is a lot of potential for the future of this franchise, and the game is fun. I think more people have an easier time dropping into the other Nintendo titles, but this is definitely worth trying out if you get the chance.

Solid Fun
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Arms is a lot of fun. It's not overly complicated and yet it's not overly simple either. If you enjoy the classic Nintendo fun of a creative "fighter" game, then I think you'll enjoy Arms. There's variety in the single player, two player or even the online which performs better than I had expected.

Love it!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I originally bought ARMS as a hopeful skeptic who wanted to support Nintendo creating new IPs. Fortunately, ARMS has been fantastic and even more so with friends. Each character has unique aspects to them which encourages you to try each and every character. Grand Prix, the single player mode, is more challenging than I anticipated, but still enjoyable. If you are planning on only playing single player it can keep your attention for some time, but playing online and with friends is definitely the highlight. If you enjoy fighting games and are looking for a unique spin, check it out!

Boys love it
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The boys really like this game! I haven't played it, but it seems to be a game that is not as violent as most war games and yet fun for an 8 and 10 year old.

Not as good as Splatoon, but still a good new IP
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I did all the Grand Prix fights on a difficulty of 2 because that was the sweet spot for me. A difficulty of 1 was too easy, and a difficulty of 3 was too hard. The only reason I got Master Mummy up to a 4 was because Master Mummy has the strongest throw, and his ability allows him to heal when blocking. I'm glad I did get him to a difficulty of 4 because you need to be on at least a difficulty of 4 to unlock the "true ending" with the extra fight, the credits and the epilogue card to show the fighter has reached his dream goal, not just simply winning the championship. I only got to see that once because of Master Mummy. Trust me, I tried with other characters, only to get nowhere. Part of the inability to finish only a difficulty of 4 was the motion controls. Indeed, it is a step up from boxing in Wii Sports, but it is a long way from Creed, the PSVR video game. Sometimes the game feels like it accurately know the motion of your arm, and at other times you're wildly flailing your arms. The other part of the inability to advance everyone to a 4 difficulty was the minigames in between meets. During rounds 3 and 6 of the Grand Prix, you play either volleyball, basketball or break the targets. Basketball is easy, considering all the player has to do is grab the other player, and the computer takes care of the rest. Break the targets can become easy or hard, depending on the fighter and the arms chosen. Volleyball is hard. Developers, I know you were trying to throw variety in the game besides boxing matches, but this game was made for boxing, not any other sport. The Grand Prix should have been just fights, not any other sport. Save the other sports for an extra mode. Just like Splatoon, I congratulate Nintendo for attempting new IPs instead of recycling old IPs. Although ARMS did not have the same success as Splatoon, I hope it does not discourage Nintendo from trying new IPs. Despite my frustrations, I overall enjoyed the game, especially for how it utilized the hardware. It will definitely end up as one of my favorite games for the Switch.

As great as it looks
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Everything you've seen on this game is true. Gameplay is very intuitive, and allows players to use motion of button based controls. 100% worth the money

Fun easy to pick up fighting game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game is easy to learn but difficult to master. You can play with motion controls or a controller and both are good. It is a little light on content as of now but I really enjoyed it.

Great Fun at High Price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For the content in the game right now the MSRP feels a bit steep. Ignoring price though this game is a lot of fun. My family (ages 6-28) has already logged several hours playing together.

Super Fun but Somewhat One Dimensional
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My son, now 9, absolutely loves this game. His favorite is Mario's Odyssey, however this is a close 2nd. In my humble opinion, this game seems one dimensional. Basically, you can choose among many different competitors and a few different fighting formats. You can play up to 4 players; anything over 2 players and you fight one another vs. on the same team. They also have some kind of sport twist as well (volleyball, I think). Overall, my son loves this game, so I am giving it 4 stars (not 5 b/c I think he may get sick of it after 4-6 months).

Pretty good
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Kind of kitchy, gameplay is good but it can get old quickly. The random online matches are a bummer, I wish there were a better way to play with my friends than to be dumped in a lobby and be paired up occasionally by random chance.

Arm[s] yourself
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent game -- although I had high expectations, given Nintendo's need to devote significant resources to this new gaming platform (the Switch), I thought the game was engaging and well designed. I was particularly impressed by how the game permitted use of the entire console (including both joy cons) as a single player in two fashions: either static or using the motion control sensors. I was also impressed at how the platform can facilitate two player action, with each player using a single joy con. well designed, fun game, and not entirely addictive.

It will knock your socks off

Great visuals and art style, wonky motion controls
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Arms is a complete delight to play, the art style and character designs are amazing. Every character feels and plays differently offering a unique gameplay experience that caters to the individuals play style. While playing solo you get a smooth 60 frames and there are plenty of game modes to keep you playing for a long time. Not to mention post release content that will keep the game feeling fresh for a long time. My only complaint is that the motion controls, while fun, take some getting used to and doesn't offer the level of precision that you'd get from a regular controller set up. But otherwise a fantastic game that you shouldn't pass up on!

Deeper than you might think
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.ARMS might seem like a shallow fighter at first glance, but it's definitely got some depth. I'm not talking Street Fighter levels of depth, but it's got some intricacies to learn. Presentation is high quality Nintendo at it's best - everything from the character design to the music is phenomenal. Personally, I think the motion controls are poor compared to using a controller - even after a few hours of practicing. Though I don't really factor that into my rating simply because I was never planning on using them to begin with. All in all, this is great fighter - it's a lot like Virtual-On by Sega, with a little Punch Out thrown in there.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Fun and simple gameplay, friends were able to pick up the basics quickly making it a fun pick up party game with multiple joycons. Content is a bit light, which is my main issue.

Fun New IP
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Similar to Splatoon's success, Nintendo takes a fun spin on competitive boxing. Controls are tight and the graphics have a nice cartoon-ish touch. Fun game to play with friends.
