Internet and modem connectivity issues with modem
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Spend 1/2 a day troubleshooting this router to connect to the internet. Phone line worked. Router has three MAC numbers at the bottom, MTA MAC, WAN MAC, and HCF MAC thar are just different by one letter at the end. Xfinity customer service asked me for the first two but then online, I read the the HCF MAC is for the internet. Xfinity technician came home and could not fix the issue. The had connectivity issues using 10.0.0.1. Returning this back to the store and will look for something else. The XFINITY XB8 rental router costs $15 month but runs very smoothly and has high reliability. You can also upgrade it for free. Seems like its the price to pay for peace of mind.

My Cable bill is too high. I bought this modem instead of renting theirs. Should pay for itself in about a year

Ok modem

My wife and I think the network has gotten sparatic since we purchased this modem. Its supposed to be better than the one we rented from Xfinity but we don't think so.

DmIt didn't meet my needs

It wasn't compatible. I was advised to return this item and get a modem without all the plugins. This was for Xfinity service.

good for a small household

doesn't work with VAST broadband

In one call, the ARRIS support team said it would not work with VAST. There was nothing in the documentation about VAST incompatibility.

For example, a Ring doorbell requires adding a "port forwarding" configuration which includes adding several port numbers - manually. Does not have a great wi-fi range.
