Defective Product?
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First off, setting up this product in bridge mode while maintaining a reliable connection to your ISP's network was a nightmare. Was on the phone with Xfinity for over 3 hours trying to successfully set up this device. Secondly, I didn't realize when I purchased the product that it has a defective chipset that is being shipped out. This modem/router combo is on the list for Intel Puma 6 chipset defects and has been cited many times before for connection issues, specific to the latency. I will be trying to return this product immediately to Bestbuy. If unsuccessful, will attempt for a refund through my credit card company for a defective product.

Does not fully support Xfinity Voice
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had 5 visits from comcast xfinity techs to check on the telephone issue. Every single phone call that comes in, there is a delay of about 4 to 5 seconds before the calling party can hear you. Phone riings, you pick up, say hello, all there is is dead air. You cannot hear anything and the calling party cannot hear anything. Say hello again, they might hear you, but usually 4 to 5 seconds of nothing before the call connects completely. VERY POOR. This SAME issue is happening on my new comcast subscription AND with a friends new comcast installation in the next town. also the speed ranges from 100 meg to 400 meg. Never a steady speed with this modem. There is nothing wrong with the modem. Comcast techs said the modem is fine, it is just not fully compatible even thought both comcast and Arris claim it is. Do not get this if you have comcast voice service.

Shocked at the reviews
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am shocked to see this have such great reviews. I bought a Motorola modem without a phone line input not knowing you need it if your Comcast plan has a landline even if you don’t use it. Once I found out I went to return it for the model with phone line but unfortunately best but doesn’t have it in my local stores so I was in a pinch and had no choice but to get this one since having no tv/internet with little ones isn’t an option. Once hooked up the connection outside of the room it was in was terrible. Tried both 5 and 2.4 channels. We stream in our house so having a good connection is a must. On top of that even when you were in the same room the speed was slow. Our ruko player 5 feet away wouldn’t even get a good signal. I immediately ordered the Motorola with phone line input. It came in today and everything is back to normal with better speeds and connections than this and the Comcast modem/router we use to rent.

Comcast says "No Go".
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Internet works fine. It's labeled as compatible with Xfinity Voice. I spent two and a half hours on the phone with Xifinity support. Finally the fellow's supervisor says the modem is a VOIP modem not an eMTA and will not work with Comcast. Funny it lists eMTA firmware in the control software. ARRIS support says they don't give customer support for the voice section of the modem. Only the internet. It may come down to a firmware update for this thing, but I'm not waiting. I'm taking it back to BestBuy. Gonna try the pricier Netgear Nighthawk.

Arris router/ modem
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am not happy with the router/ modem. I don’t know if it is arris or xfinity. But my Wi-Fi keeps dropping and switching to the lower connection. I have spoken to both companies and each blame the other

DON’T BUY IT!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a horrible router. It will not connect and is cheap. This probably has Intel’s Puma 6 chip which is unreliable to today’s internet standards.
