Very easy to set up. My problems begin when I had to call Comcast and get the unit recognized as a replacement unit. I finally went to Arris web site and put in the modem numbers & Mac address and I was up and running. Should have my investment back in about 18 Months.

I bought this, instead of renting from Comcast. the first one did not work (defective, I think), and Best Buy was able to exchange it for me. 2nd one installed and worked perfectly. with the help of Comcast ( needing them to inform the new router), and set-up went fine. It has been 3 months and no issues at all.

The installation was easy. I spent far more time reading the directions and gathering information than the actual installation. After the second reboot of the modem a Xfinity page appeared for me to log into and then confirm my phone number. After that everything worked as usual. Should have done it 3 years ago.

Got this to replace my COMCAST router...it will take about 2 years to pay for itself. I get about the same speed I got with the COMCAST box but the dual ban provides more devices to work simultaneously. I had some trouble with getting it set up on COMCAST's end. But once those hurdles were cleared no problems since.

I finally purchased a modem/router instead of paying monthly rental fees to my cable company. The BestBuy salesperson was very helpful in steering me to the model I needed - for internet and landline phone connection. Setting it up was simple, altho contacting the cable co. for connectivity was time-consuming.

I am using this as my gateway with internet provider Comcast. It has performed as expected and I have no complaints. I am giving it 4 stars because of the $189.99 price. With a two-year contract, that $189.99 really only saves me one year of $15 gateway rental fees from Comcast. But I'll take it.

This modem works great!!! No issues so far as I switched from an xfinity modem to the ARRIS SURFboard 24 x 8 DOCSIS 3.0 Voice Cable Modem with AC1750 Dual-Band Wi-Fi Router for Xfinity. Doing this saved me $10.00 a month on my xfinity bill. So worth the value.

I bought this modem to replace the rented Comcast Xfinity Arris. Self activated on the Comcast network and was up and running in just a few minutes. The Arris SVG2482AC is listed as compatible on the Xfinity approved modem list for my zip code. This is a DOCSIS 3.0 modem which is more than adequate for my internet plan.

I went from speeds in the 50 to 60 range with my Comcast equipment to speeds of 235 plus...Only draw back to this unit is the high cost

I replaced the modem I was renting from Comcast with this identical (other than color) Arris SURFboard modem. The conversion went flawlessly and mac address was registered with Comcast, using the instructions that came with it. No more rental fees!!!

About 9 months ago I purchased an Arris modem/router to use with Xfinity but didn't think it needed to be insured. Wrong. After a recent electrical storm my modem/router got fried with a surge coming through the coax cable. So again I bought an Arris modem/router but this time with the 2 year warranty. Was no problem to install.

Easy to setup, no problems with wi-fi, seems faster too

I wanted to upgrade my modem and around the holidays I saw this one on sale. I bought it and it works great for my desktop computer and smart TV. I also save a monthly fee from the cable company by owning my own.

No it's not cheap but it will pay for itself in about two years and even if you don't stick with XFINITY/Comcast that long it still feels good not to be paying them for required equipment. It appears to be identical to the model they had me renting when I first changed to my current plan. I get over 200MBs downloads.

Unless your going to fork over the big $$$$ for their top speed tier this Modem/Router combo will save you money vs renting. Even though this is pretty much the same modem Comcast used to use (XB3) our speeds have improved slightly and we no longer lose connection to our wireless printer.
