Xfinity installer installed it when put in so i can't say I installed it. He said these are very good quality n work fine... I am happy with it. We have a ranch style home and have it installed in approximately middle of basement and have great coverage thru out our home. Also it was a few dollars more but I wI'll not be paying their rental fee of $11.00 per month. Very satisfied!!!

I hope it pays for itself before it becomes outdated! For this price - the least it should have come with is a "back-up battery"! What is the sense of buying such an important item ... that doesn't come "COMPLETE"? Furthermore - not one knowledgable person working there even bothered to mention that I would need a back-up battery and cared to inform me of HOW to acquire it!

Had an Xfinity gateway, but was tired of paying the monthly $10 rental fee- so I invested in this unit. I'm not a 100% tech-savy expert, but I'm also not clueless. After 1-1/2 hours, we finally had this thing figured out. Appears to do well with WiFi reception throughout our 5200 square ft. Home. 2600 main floor, and 2600 finished basement. No apparent dead-zones.
