    Couldn't use for Comcast Internet/TV/Voice

I was very disappointed after purchasing this product and getting ready to install it, when I realized that it wasn't compatible with Comcast Voice. My aggravation was fueled by the fact that I spoke with a Best Buy representative in length about me needs and that I was connecting it to my Comcast internet/tv/voice system. I was looking to replace the Comcast modem that I've been renting for a few years and now I have to return the Arris and find a new product. I had done my research and knew that Arris products were compatible, but didn't have the model numbers with me when I found a much larger store far from home. I guess I put too much trust in the employee to know the products, but he seemed to know his stuff.

I have a 1600 ft two story home and it didnt cover adequate radial. I was very unimpressed with the amount of drop network connections. Went with the arris 6183 paired with a linksys WRT Ac1900 and am very pleasd. Spend the the extra hundred.

The device is locked so only Xfinity can serve firmware updates and bug fixes to the device, in case it needs them. Like all any network device, it needs them for both security and functionality. Xfinity aren't doing any updates because they want you to rent the modem from them, leaving you with a buggy device, that while you fully own - you can't maintain. The result is daily disconnections, 5 technician visits and zero accountability between Arris.com and xfinity.com. I wouldn't never buy another Arris device until they start providing service to their devices.

Placed in the back of a 900 sf home. Couldn't get a signal in the front room. Had a hard time connecting to it. Couldn't find it sometimes listed in my wifi. Not worth the hassle.

We are a household of 2 adults but we have multiple wireless gadgets. Wireless streaming TV, Blu-Rays, 2 Amazon Echos, 2 Smartphones, PS4 gaming, etc. The list is long and we found the bandwidth needs were not met by the Arris router.

Both bands on this router tend to work only on an intermittent basis. We have reset the unit then all works fine for another week or so then stops working again. It's going back to Best Buy. Not at all impressed by any means.
