    Modem/Router didn't work for me

Way too many disconnects @ 2.4 Ghz on any channel, Direct TV convertor wouldn't stay connected to router, had to reconnect every day. After several calls for tech support about these issues and continuous channel changes, I gave up and purchased a Netgear, works much better. Purchased this Arris router to replace a 3yr. old Zoom for newer techknowledgy, big $100 mistake, will return to B/B for warranty repair just because, kept to long for a refund hoping it would function properly, but didn't. ADVOID THIS ROUTER IF POSSIBLE!

    Connectivity Problems

After switching from DSL to cable, I purchased this modem. It was easy enough to set up, but kept losing internet connection. I had to reset the modem several times a day. I called their tech support but all they could suggest was changing the broadcast channel. I tried that but no real improvement. After two weeks I exchanged it for a Netgear modem and have had no issues since.

I bought this Arris router modem combo on Sunday June 10, 2018 on Monday June 18, 2918 the modem part stopped working! I returned it on Tuesday June 19, 2018. It worked great for the 7 days it worked. I contacted our inter service frovider and all was good at their end. I installed our older Netgear router modem combo and the Internet worked great.

The modem had one in and out cable connectors. Can't broaden very much unless a person buys another router or switch. Other than the product was good.

Replaced my old modem/router with this product which cost twice as much as similar ones. It's very easy to set up. The reception in the furthest room in my house, about 40 feet away, is very poor and slow. Very disappointing and poor value for the cost.

I bought this about 6 months ago and every couple of days I've had to reset it. Forget about using it as a WiFi. Every time I connect it to something else it stops working. I was really hoping it would be better but I'm not a happy camper with this at all.

There is one thing about wifi routers: you just never want to need to think about it! Well this one doesn't let you do that. Connection is lost all the time, need to reboot it, re-start devices... This has been a painful experience.

My husband & I bought this router to replace the one that we were renting from Comcast & it worked for a little while but then the wifi signal was getting weaker with time. We wound up having to buy a stronger one about a year later. Wouldn't recommend.

    HUGE regret

I've had this modem for four years now and it has consistently been a huge headache for me. It almost never works with the cable companies I've had. Even though it says it's compandiable with the service providers, only one campany out of the five I tried it with come finally get it to work after three hours of working on it. The wifi is spotty/nonexistent even when I'm in the same room as the router, and the LAN line connection has NEVER WORKED. I've wasted a lot of my money and time on this machine and I have nothing to show for it. It a HUGE regret of mine.

    Horrible customer service

after about a week of intermittent internet service I called my internet provider to figure out the problem. About a week and a half and four service calls we determined that it was this item that was defective. When I tried to return the item I was told I get 15 days to return the item and there’s nothing they can do. How was I to return the item when it took four service technicians, changed the cable wires in my house and on the outside lines, To figure out in the end that it’s a defective modem. Will NEVER purchase from Best Buy again!!!!

I live in a 2 bedroom apt.. If I am sitting on the same room the reception is good but go to the bedroom and it drops all of the time. I would never recommend this to any one who needs constant reception.

    awful wifi

I have this wifi router on Comcast Xfinity, the wired speed is great but that's in the cable. Wifi signal constantly drops. I have a wifi thermostat connected 8 feet away and the signal is lost 3-4 times every day. Wireless printer loses signal, it sits 5 feet from the router and at least 60% of the time it can't find the network. Both are straight shot connections, no walls in the way. I've had to go back to my old WD router for wifi and it's been perfect.

This product does not work with Xfinity.Don't buy!

New to Xfinity(Comcast). Bought this product to keep from paying a monthly equipment fee. Within 24 hours of having this combo Modem & Wireless Router it reset itself about 20 times in wireless mode causing my streaming TV programs to crash & it stopped me for being able to surf the Internet. Certainly not worth $20 let alone the $200 I paid for it. Returning it tomorrow for Netgear. Not sure how this company got affiliated with Comcast but it should be removed from the list. At least this model number #SBG6700AC.

Bought this model based on reviews. Range turned out to be shorter than my old AT&T modem. I had to purchase a wifi extender to reach the porch door about 30 feet away.

I wanted to have modem/router in same unit..this is the worst. doesn't maintain connection with my tv or my printer that is in the same room - let alone the one in my living room. I need to reset at least once a day and it doesn't help - I spoke with customer service at Arris and they were very nice and walked me through changing the channel - it helped for a bit but now back to the same old problems...I would not recommend this product.

Tends to drop WiFi, support poor

WiFi seems to drop out regularly. Some devices difficult to connect and keep connected, even though signal is strong. Support personnel spoke with such a strong foreign accent that he was almost impossible to understand. Arris needs to have support personnel who can communicate effectively with the English speaking customers. If device performance cannot be improved, I return and exchange for another brand.
