I would have prefered the unit with the built in telephone modem which the store I bought it from, no longer carried. This unit can probably do more things than what I have it set up for. I just wanted Internet connection with my cable company.

I got this one to replace the first series surfboard just because the technology has improved in the last 6 years. I have never had any complaints with this device, and it has always performed as advertised. I have a 1700 sq ft. house and there are no dead spots, I can even go out in my back yard and still pick up signal. Motorola has a good thing going with this modem/router combo.
