Easy to connect - it would be helpful to have serial number and other info on a paper rather than only one sticker on unit, with very small print.

I bought this router combo to work with Comcast Internet. I'm saving money on their rental fee and my bill is actually affordable. the range is great, I have a three floor house and it reaches to the third floor. I did a little research before and Best Buy was the cheapest place to buy it.

The SBG6580 can actually be a niece all-in-one device if you have the patience and know-how to get it configured right.
First off, there is a feature called 'IP Flood Detection' that needs to be disabled. (It is located under the Firewall page) By default, it is turned ON. When ON, this feature eventually causes everything to slow to a crawl. Turn it OFF (uncheck box) and you will never go slow again. This is certainly a failing on Motorola's part to default a poor-functioning feature ON in the first place.
I would agree that Motorola's interface is clunky in general. It is pretty powerful too and advanced users will be able to do most of what they want with it.
My carrier is Comcast and I enjoy real-word DL speeds of up to 4MBps (32mbps). Admittedly, with many of my apps, I'm actually around 3MBps, which is plenty fast for me. I have (2) hardwired PCs, (1) hardwired printer, (1) wireless laptop, (1) wireless printer, and (3) other hardwired devices on my network.
I do experience a random 'reset' of the modem on occasion. I have yet to track down what is causing it. I can't blame the hardware (yet) but it occurs with such irregularity (sometimes not for 5 days or more)
It isn't a perfect modem/gateway, but it is capable, if a touch user unfriendly.

I wanted to get rid of my monthly lease payment from TWC therefore I purchased this modem/wireless router. I have all my devices connected Ipad, 2 phones, Gaming, smart TV its awesome, it works so seamless. Get it, it saves you money, saves space instead of having 2 devices just 1.

Decent router which has both modem and router. I found that it sometimes disconnects wireless signal even though I can access internet via LAN

Installed recently for cox Internet , along with Direct TV and wireless Samsung television. Many challenges getting devices to communicate, and on phone with cox, direct tv and the Asus modem manufacturers. Had to purchase a Samsung cell phone router for adequate cell phone. The Motorola Asus router works through the Samsung cell phone booster. It has been complicated and still not without disconnects intermittently . Frustrated but done trying!

My 3rd Linksys router in 7 years went belly up so I decided to move to another manufacturer. After thoroughly reviewing current products, I decided on a Motorola router/modem combo. Works fantastic throughout the house. No longer need TWC leased modem either which saves money per month.

I've only been using this modem/router for a few weeks - a replacement for the device I initially rented from the cable company - but it works great. I have not had any problems with connecting multiple devices (phone, computer, TV streaming, iPad) and speed does not seem to be an issue. I have not yet tried to upload photos, which are quite large; but will update my review when I do.
The only potential negative is that it is quite warm. Although there is sufficient air flow, I am playing around with the location in case that affects it.

I decided to purchase this wi-fi modem router instead if renting through the cable company. After reviewing several comparable brands I chose this model. Very satisfied with its performance so far. I would recommend it.

Simple, Fast Cable Modem

Set this one up for a friend. It's important to buy a cable modem that the cable companies will support and the Motorola ones are used by them on installs so they are almost always supported. Check with your Internet provider first through before you buy one.
The cable modem connected quickly, all I had to do was call the cable company to activate the service and I was online. WiFi is fast and reached most of the 1500 sq. ft. home OK, but for a larger home you might need a range extender.
Nice thing about the Motorola cable modems is that they print the password on a sticker so you can use their more secure password and always find it on the device.

I've always rented modems from my cable company and noticed that they always supplied something similar to this model. When the time came for me to upgrade my service, I originally went to Best Buy to purchase the NETGEAR cable modem I'd assume would work with my service provider. Unfortunately, I did not read the box or ask my cable provider and ended up having to exchange the modem and go with my original choice- the Motorola. Long story short, my provider struggled to get my Modem into DOCSIS3.0 mode, and gave me the answer of "sorry we'll send a tech out". Called up ARRIS, and the tech went beyond customer service. Educated me on what I was looking at, and than gave me the information I needed to get my whole wiring fixed throughout my house.

Good option instead of paying TWC a monthly fee to use their router. Signal strength could be faster and longer but overall a great value.

I've had the Motorola 2-in1 router and modem for a few months now, I have not had any problems with it at all. It was easy to install and figure out how to use. I would advise on this 2-in 1 router and modem for anyone that finds it compatible with their internet service provider.

It does everything pretty much as expected. I had to mess with positioning a little to get the signal to carry well throughout the apartment. The setup and security config was very easy and I was up and running in no time afetr I called Cox cable with the modem information. Docsis 3.0 has room for me to to increase my bandwidth even higher than my current subscription.
