Great Sequel to Assassin's Creed 2

I bought Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood mainly because I loved Assassin's Creed 2, and figured this game would be a good sequel. The game actually exceeded my expectations with superior graphics, new fighting techniques, and awesome teamwork capabilities. You continue your adventure as Ezio Auditore from Assassin's Creed 2, but this time you are fighting for Rome's freedom. As you get to higher levels while fighting the Borgia for control of Rome, you are able to recruit assassin's to form your Brotherhood. This is the biggest and best change from Assassin's Creed 2, because it allows you to take on huge amounts of enemies at once. In summary I would definitely recommend you buy this game. It's lots of fun and will have you playing for hours.

Each AC game has built on the last and this one has brought together everything that was good about the past games and added more to make this the best AC yet. Great graphics and story. Multiplayer is awesome. I would recommend this to anyone who liked anything about the first two games.

Great Game, Worth the Money

So heres the gist of AC Brotherhood. I was very excited at first to get it, and then when I got it I only thought it was an extention of the AC2. But, though its very similar, it only has more oppurtunities to do some crazy stuff. The transition from AC1 to AC2 was very big, but from AC2 to AC Brotherhood, it wasn't as big. Ubisoft added some great new features that are very interesting and provided lots of commentary again. The point is, this game is worth the 60 bucks. Its very historical, and a great game in general. Its a lot more in depth than AC2 and thats what I like. The multiplayer is great as well. BUT, MAKE SURE YOU HAVE PLAYED THE FIRST TWO GAMES IN ORDER, or you will be confused out of your mind.

I am biased and I fully acknowledge it upfront. I love the Assassin's Creed series. The first game was great, if flawed. The second was almost perfect and Ubisoft has continued it with Brotherhood. Many considered this to be Assassin's Creed 2.5 before it came out, but I don't think that's fair. Yes, it's not AC3, and yes, it continues the story of Ezio in Renaissance-era Italy (this time in Rome). But the depth of gameplay, stuning visuals and architecture of Rome and number of missions is staggering - to the point where after completing the game, there is no doubt left that this is more than a 2.5 or DLC add-on. I easily sunk 40-50 hours of gameplay into it, and the overwhelming majority of that was in the vast single-player campaign. I liked the innovative and fun multi-player, but it is secondary to the single-player. The combat mechanics have been tightened and improved (slightly, but enough) and while the story isn't quite as emphasized as it was in AC2, the ability to leave the animus at will and the addition of a virtual training program outside of the regular gameplay is both fun and challenging for newcomers and old-hands alike. All told, there is a TON to do in this game and if you love Assassin's Creed, you will love this game. For those who haven't played AC before...what's wrong with you! Go play 1 & 2! But seriously though, while playing the first 2 games would help, it is not necessarily a deterrent to playing Brotherhood. Highly recommended.

A game for third person action gamers

Assassin's Creed Brotherhood is much like Assassin's Creed II in game play and campaign patterns. Go talk to a guy, kill a guy, beat up a guy. . . ya its all there. But thankfully Ubisoft put in some more side missions that will please any completion-ist. With mysterious Romulus missions (much like the Armor of Altair missions in Assassin's Creed II) and the ability to rebuild Rome piece by piece (an economic nightmare) are just a couple of the major additions. The characters from Assassin's Creed II are all there, plus a few more. A huge plus is the crossbow that was featured in the pre-game cut scene for the original. This will be used more often than anything else in Ezio's repertoire. Overall, this game has beautiful graphics, an amazing story line, and new additions that make any sequel worth buying.

Anybody who has played "Assassin's Creed II" will fall right into "Brotherhood," just like an old pair of boots. The movements and controls are nearly identical, so you don't have to spend a lot of time learning a lot of new techniques. That said, the two games are not identical by any means. "Brotherhood" is a natural transition to its predecessor, much like book sequels.
The "brotherhood" portion of the game is an amazing enhancement, as is the ability to play against XBox Live friends. You can still play "Brotherhood" in pure story mode and get every bit the enjoyment and full experience that "Creed II" provided. I believe the addition of the "brotherhood" characters to assist you is something no other game has ever done.
The "brotherhood" can either be dispatched to take on various missions across Europe, or they can be summoned to do your dirty work in battle. You have the option of joining them in the fights or watching from a safe distance, while they clean up the mess. It's truly amazing.
The length of the game is every bit what you would hope for with a good RPG. Unlike some RPG's, you won't need to buy the add-on portions later to feel like you got a full game. On the other hand, who wouldn't want to keep playing and get those add-ons?
In short, Ubisoft is the master of RPG's. Both the "Prince of Persia" and "Assassin's Creed" series are true masterpieces. Yeah, they reuse a lot of the same algorithms for character movements and other core game components. However, when something's really right, why would you throw it out and start over? I actually think this is a good thing, because veteran players can jump right into the action. This also allows them to focus more on the story and other unique details of the game.

Assassin's Creed is unique!

When Assassin's Creed first showed a few years ago, everyone was like: "OMG, What an awesome game", and indeed, it was a great game, since it was the first in its category, no one went on saying that any other game was directly better, later on, when Assassin's Creed II came, it was far, FAR better, that was kind of a small issue because the first one was awesome, then the second one was like a hundred times better, the improvement was seriously big, and then again with Assassin's Creed III, it will be far better than the first 2! Aside from any other game developer, Ubisoft didn't care about making the games look bad with their sequels, so, yes, i do recommend this game, since it will now have multiplayer, but i warn you, don't play it too much, don't try to finish the story the first day you get it, or you won't enjoy it.

If you’re and assassins creed fan you’ll enjoy this game. If you are just getting into assassins creed I would suggest starting out with the first or second one first. The game overall is great, same type of play as before. If you do all the side missions and don’t just run through the story you can get at least 30 hours of play.

I came into the series kind of late; I was able to get both 1 & 2 in their greatest hits releases. But I did start at the beginning and I haven't regretted it. With each release the story evolves and gets more interesting and the amount of abilities you have access to grows. You can't play Brotherhood and then go back to one and not be disappointed.
I can't wait to get my hands on Revelations!

Assassin's Creed had a rocky start with the first game, but AC2 improved on just about every aspect that was buggy or too long-winded about the original. Brotherhood is another step in the right direction for the series, letting you become a near unstoppable force in the world and telling a dang interesting story in the process.

Good, but not great

Overall, AC Brotherhood is a good game but it doesn't live up to its predecessor, AC 2. Certain gameplay tactics and missions keep the game from being enjoyable. For instance, TOO MANY undercover missions where you must remain undetected can get aggravating after a while. AC Brotherhood is a good game that doesn't disappoint, but it's just one of those games where you know it could be SO much better than it actually is...

From the light "on the last episode" beginning to the Cliffhanger ending, this game leaves you wanting more, and being the first in the series to offer online multiplayer it gives it to you, along with the tie in with the facebook game Project Legacy, it has a lot to offer.

Great expansion to Assassin's Creed II, too short.

This game was fantastic when viewed as an expansion of AC2, but is not worth it for $60, since it is only about 2/3 the length of AC2. I got it on sale for $35 so it was a great deal for me and I loved the game, just wish it was longer. The multi-player is fun, but not addictive, take from that what you will.

If you have played the 1st 2 assassin's creed games then this is a must to purchase! This game is a combination of both, with many new features,(crossbow, poison darts, and so on) It is set in Rome, in the 1500s or so. You won't regret the free roam/sandbox style gaming, hours of FUN!
Even if you have never played assassin's creed you should probably get the 1st 2 first, then buy this because you might get confused, however this game is great from people with a great imagination.
If i could live in a video game i'd choose this series! Trust me it is amazing!
