The game is great but the stories seemed a bit bleh compared to the last few titles. As a stand alone game it's more than good but as a part of the assassin's creed series it's just alright.

I consider a good game, but nit for me. I like the historical references and the exploration, but sometimes I feel it is the same game I have played since 2006.

Not too bad for a PS3 game, but I bought mine for the cheap PS4 upgrade. PS4 version isn't the greatest. Rough gameplay and camera angles for combat.

The game is quite challenging and frustrating!!!!!

This is the first assassins creed game I've owned. Not sure I would buy another.

I would recommend this game to any player that enjoys playing by themselves.

If you have played one Assasins Creed, you have played them all.

Really did not enjoy this game. When I play an ASSASSINS creed game, I want to be an assassin not a PIRATE. There were too many naval missions. Did not enjoy at all.

don't recommend game for children under 18. too much blood

This game was a welcome surprise for me. I have played the first two in the series. They were enjoyable, but didn't really seem to have much growth as far as where the gameplay could progress. This entry is a huge step forward. The new elements of sea exploration, ship battles, board, undersea portions help to break up the typical collection and platforming segments. Graphics and color are stunning. I recommend this to anyone. Parents, violence is fairly low. there are a few more rough animations with the swords, but not much in the way of blood. I haven't run into any nudity either. Language can be more adult at times, but not as bad as your average TV programming.

I love this game. I love this series. The story I think was great, it didn't have lot of confusion like some of the previous ones. The gameplay is good, but could be better. They made the AI a little better but still not challenging as AC II. + Like the treasure hunt + Like the ship battles + Like the side missions + Assassination missions are good + Hunting in the sea is cool - Lack of financial - No bank (understandable for the time and islands) - Boss fights need to be harder - Lack of weapons. Probably the least amount of weapons AC ever had. - Not able to purchase property except in one island, but does not generate money. I like the ability to purchase store and having able to make money.

I've spent more time just messing around and being a pirate than actually progressing the Assassin's Creed storyline, but it's fun to do so. You aren't steamrolled into the story, so you could play for hours and barely advance it!

After all this time from having it when it first came out, I finally sat down to play and complete the game. This is my favorite Assassin's game yet. The different locations you travel to in this game are on my bucket list. Loved it whenever I was at a Mayan temple ruin. Not only were the locations great, but the whole pirate storyline was perfect too. It made me crave the second season of Black Sails even more. This had more of the ship action that Assassin's Creed 3 and Liberation had that was a lot of fun. Great ending videos with a few twists/surprises thrown in. If I was the type, I would definitely play through this game again (but I'm not that type of gamer). Now I gotta go pick up AC Rogue before getting a PS4

The best Assassins Creed game in the series! It's sort of a collect-athon, but in a very interesting way and setting. Combat and parkour is the same as in Assassins Creed III. The big step up in this game is the naval combat and exploration. You can literally spend hours going around treasure hunting and getting into naval skirmishes. The loading times are still as long as they always have been for the ps3. Saw that the loading times were drastically cut in the Next-gen versions. You can't go wrong with either version, but it's highly recommended that you get the next-gen version if you own the better system.

I do recommend this game, but with some reservations. It is very fun to play, but after a while you realize it is pretty much the same sort of mission repackaged over and over. The graphics are cookie cutter, the story is nothing special or all that interesting, and nothing looks different from place to place. It is an open world game where you can move around freely and do side missions or just sail and pirate and leave it at that. . .or, you can stick to the story. Sort of like GTA, but with ships instead of cars, and not as much to do. HOWEVER, and why I recommend this game, I really enjoy the ships and ship combat. A+. The entire presentation of sailing from the waves, weather, sounds, singing on deck, to combat is PERFECT. It gets a little old after a while, but it is truly fun and one of those things you want to call your wife into the room to show her. But, when you get on land, it is the same thing over and over. Follow someone, hide in a bush, kill someone, run away from soldiers, repeat. The developers tried to add a few creative elements like updating your ship, weapons, etc. They also added side quests like crafting, opening chests scattered around, finding new songs for your crew to sing, and some other items such as when you are in the real world and not using the Animus. However, so far in my 10 hours or so in they feel somewhat thrown together to complete the package. Oh, but the sailing and pirating. . .that is a blast! *I have not tried multiplayer

I was so disappointed with Assassin's Creed 3 that I nearly swore off the series, thinking that the style of gameplay had just worn thin with me. Honestly, the only reason I picked this up was because I got it at a steal of a price and upgraded to the PS4 version digitally for under $35. That being said, this totally warrants a full price purchase. If you never liked any of the AC series this probably won't change your mind, but if you are already a fan, this is easily the best of the bunch. My one criticism is still in the controls, and this has been an issue throughout the series. The character does not always intuitively jump/climb to where you are intending, often resulting in death or getting hung up on some collision detection that stalls your forward progress until you maneuver around it. If they could get this aspect of the game right it would be a dream to play.

Everything great about Assassins Creed 3 but so much better and more fun. Sailing your ship to islands and battling out against the british and Spanish baby is so much fun. Great game with a good story.

I became an assassins creed fan a couple of years ago and they just keep getting better. This new game has amazing graphics and an outstanding open world play. If you like to invest in a good game. .. this is the one

Best Buy had this on a flash sale and got it for $10. You can't beat that! Gameplay is very refreshing from the general series. I thoroughly am enjoying it but trying to play through my back log. Keep bringing these kinds of deals!
