Great game except the first 20-30 min are horribly slow

The graphics in AC4 are just amazing. The game is different than the other AC games, which makes Black Flag more enjoyable to play. The ship battles are fun, although I recommend upgrading it as soon as possible, for it will help you a lot throughout the game and make it more easier. Then there are an overwhelming amount of side missions, which takes forever to complete all of them. Then, there is the fact that this is a pirate game and there is no other game like it.

I've played many assassins creed games, and I wasn't really impressed with the story line or game speed. I've only played for about an hour since I purchased it, but I got bored really fast.

The first game that I've fully beat for the PS4! It's also the first Assassin's Creed game that I've ever played. The ones in the past all looked really appealing, but I just never got the urge to buy or play them. Sadly...the free mini-football with the preorder along with the $10 RZ certificates pushed me over the line with this one! From the beginning, I loved just how the game looked and felt. It must be using the same game engine that Dead Island Riptide used as they look and move almost exactly the same. I say the same, but the graphics for Black Flag are exceedingly amazing. By far the best action/adventure game I've ever played in the graphics department (not going to count PC gaming). Everything from sitting atop a sync point to jumping across rooftops to sailing on the high seas is just stunning to look at. Not only did it look great, but it's incredibly fun to play. The funnest part of the game has to be the naval battles. You realize how puny your ship is to start, but as soon as you start putting some upgrades on it, you'll destroy nearly everything. I remember coming across my first Man of War and getting demolished with just 1-2 mortar barrages. Once my ship was nearly fully upgraded, I was able to utterly annihlate them with a couple mortars and a broadside cannon barrage. Have to be careful of the corners of the map where the Legendary ships are, though. Even fully upgraded, they will kick your butt if you aren't careful and learn what is effective against each ship. Going on foot is just as fun. My brother watched me play a lot of the game and he was always commenting on how silly the computer AI was. The ability to kill several guards in succession without any of them noticing anything was always hilarious. Berserk darts have to be the most overpowered things in the game as well. Just let them kill each other! I'm a huge fan of the double assassination as well. Also, you can do sword combos that finish with a gun shot. Managed to get one where he actually stuck the gun into the enemies mouth and pulled the trigger. Only got it to work once while boarding a boat but so wanted it to happen again! Amazing game that I have to recommend to everyone. It can be brutally violent so it's definltely not for all ages. Best game I've played since Skyrim.

This puts the AC franchise back on track. It takes the best aspects of AC3 (Naval battles and beautiful rich detail) and runs with them rather than stifling them with buggy game play and pointless side missions as in AC3. The open world aspects are fully realized too; there's nothing better than sailing merrily along to your next mission and suddenly coming across a lone schooner rich with loot to pillage! The story is far more compelling and Edward Kenway is arguably as interesting and maybe even more fun to play than Ezio. Finally, they actually SAY the assassin's creed! In all of AC3, they never actually SAID THE assassin's creed!

This game is fantastic. Great story line and the open world makes it so much better. The ship battles are a great addition. There are slight improvements from the PS3 to PS4 but they are noticeable and very nice.

Getting the AC4 for the PS4 for sure!!! AC4 on PS4 is going to be the best version! The game blew me away with all the details... But the good thing is that AC4 is much better than AC3... Better story line the AC4 has improved the game dynamics, being more fluid than AC3... If you like pirates... You are going to have a great time playing AC4

I have never really been into the Assassin's Creed series so honestly I have no idea what I'm doing being a Pirate or why. I've read up on this through outside sources but the game didn't really give me a feeling of filling out my reasons. It feels more like it just assumes I should know why I'm doing this stuff. Honestly though, I don't care - this game is seriously fun and has layers upon layers of things to do regardless of whether or not you know why you're doing them! My biggest thing about this is that items are presented for you to do before they have been introduced to you in the game. The fast travel negates a lot of the sting of having to go back and start doing something it hadn't mentioned yet. I also suppose there is a certain flow to the story that makes sense. Honestly I think this might be because this is my first AC game and I should probably know this stuff already. Gameplay is great. If I'm not enjoying doing one thing that day I can choose to do something else. If I don't feel like ship battles (which are really fun), I can go to towns and do a variety of tasks. And if I don't feel like doing that I can go outfit my ship or even craft up some items that benefit in various ways. I don't want to go into too much more so as not to potentially mar the experience of anyone else, but there is a LOT to do. Summary: Love the game and have limited dislikes about it. Take review with a grain of salt, this is my first AC adventure so I'm not in the loop.

Naval battles, and sea travel are superb. Hunting, crafting, and upgrading all add to the fun and allow the player to enjoy the non-linear take on the game. In short, you could dump a boatload of hours in this game -- doing everything from harpooning whales to searching for lost treasure. A solid game all around. And, as expected, the rest of the game is super polished. Ubisoft done did good.

Game play is fun, keeps you intrigue, for you curious what will happen. If you played Connors Version AC 3 then you know where Connors dad came from in the end of AC 4. They still need to get this movement right not too tedious tho to stop you from playing, as much as how Edward Kenway life of a pirate was fun it got dragging noticing he did not care about no other but himself and was kind of forced into the Creed instead of joining it for the greater good. That is what made Ezio trilogy so blessing and well received. Overall it is a different setting very interesting and one for the Fans and Collectors alike. MUST BUY keeps you going for a month good on single player mode.

This is my first AC game I've owned. I was really relying on the reviews to validate my purchase. I was trying hard to find something wrong about the game. But honestly, the game is put together so well that it would be crazy not to have it. The story, the gameplay, the side objectives, and many other things to love about the game work together in harmony. Plus, it's fun being a pirate!

Was really impressed with this game. Huge world, ship battles, lots of loot and interesting surroundings. 9/10. Was my first game for my PS4 and really enjoyed it. Put 40-50 hours into the game.
