Got this game from my boyfriend and he likes any assassin's creed game

This game is great if you like any of the Assassin's Creed franchise, but do not buy it if you are expecting a revolutionarily new game experience. More of the same AC storyline, just with a little nautical action mixed in this time around.

This is the game that turned me onto the Assassin's Creed series.

When I first played through Assassin's Creed IV I thought it was just okay, but in attempting to go back for a second playthrough, all of its small problems quickly added up. The problem with ACIV is that it shouldn't even be labelled an Assassin's Creed game. It's a game that's centered around piracy and sailing, the whole storyline of the previous games feels like it's an afterthought. The sailing mechanics are probably the best they could possibly be, but sailing the Jackdaw is a boring, clunky chore. To experience some of the wonderful exploration aspects you have to sail around and discover islands. This would be fine, but the enemy forts that occupy the world map impose an unnecessary challenge on you. Have fun trying to reach the island with 15 enemy ships chasing after you. The worst part though is that all of the upgrades for the ship are ridiculously hard to get, simply because they task you with finding specific materials to craft them (wood, metal, cloth). If you could buy the materials outright , this wouldn't be so bad, but if you want to buy the materials you actually have to pay Ubisoft. All these gripes are nothing compared to the actual "story" portion of the game. It's just a thin string of random events that culminates in one of the stupidest boss battles of all time. Edward Kenway isn't even a part of the Assassin's Order, the female characters are horribly shoehorned in, and all of the missions are of the tail or eavesdrop variety. If you're a fan of the pre- ACIII games, I wouldn't recommend this. It's just a slog through and through, and if you look close enough, you'll realize you've been wasting precious hours of your life by playing it.

This is a good game especially when you buy a used version.

It plays very similar to previous AC titles but adds a new aspect of ship control and added adventures. Played through about 20% of the total game and am so far relatively satisfied.

I have never been a fan of Assassin's Creed, but this one is different. Much more of a pirating game than Assassin's Creed game. Lots of fun.

This was a steal for the price. Picked it up used and have spent many hours playing. I particularly enjoy the ship combat. Great fun!

For an introduction of what is to come from future AC games, this is a great start. Fun gameplay, good graphics...and pirate ships.

Fun game. Some parts can be tedious like the stealth and sailing portions but the combat and atmosphere is great.

This game while being cross-gen is still much better looking on next gen consoles. The multiplayer is always fun and leaves me excited for Unity

A lot like the past games. Not a new gaming experiencing but a brand new story. Great weekend game and really fun to play online with friends.

The game was better than I expected it to be. Sailing, drinking and fighting you way to the end.

I am heavy gamer and Assassin's Creed excellent but I wish the game was longer. 2 thumbs up!
