Many also praised the game's substantial content and large map, finding it offered a significant amount of playtime and exploration. Great game. Great story. But the cutscenes seem a bit lazy like the developers were watching tv while putting the cutscenes together. They seem like 480p. But its 2021. I love the exploration of both the land and sea. Not much focus on the oceans but you could go fishing. The skill tree could be daunting but once you play around with it for an hour, your good to go. Maybe too many paths in the skill tree. I love the though provoking puzzles and fight combinations. More optimized than the previous AC game.

To me this is pry the best AC to be released. Game plays really well and has a good story. You will never get bored with the amount of side quests and challenges that are available. The game also has a large open world to explore which is rather enjoyable. The only issue I had was that it seemed the combat got clunky when you had a decent amount of characters around, which hopefully will get fixed with a patch. The raids also got a little repetitive towards the end. Overall a great game and I highly recommend it.

I’m really enjoying it but I like AC games in general. Nothing revolutionary here, if you like the formula there are just enough tweaks to keep it entertaining but you know what to expect. Lots of world building and exploration, some simple puzzles and combat. Looks very nice on PS5! And looks like easily 80+ hours to spend those quiet weeks in quarantine :p

Amazing Game!!! I’ve already played 11 hours of it and it’s my 2nd favorite game of all time behind Miles Morales. Gameplay mechanics are great, story is entertaining, combat is engaging, and all the side content and exploration is fun and interesting. Highly recommend it.

98 hours to complete the main storyline (and some extras), and I loved every minute of it! Valhalla does a great job at bringing the Norse world and mysteries to life. I just finished it yesterday but still have tons to explore (now that I have two legendary weapons, of course!). The story end sent me for a loop, for sure. But I also didn't play anything after the very first Assassin's Creed other than Odyssey, so I'm probably missing some vital story elements. The graphics are gorgeous, the characters are endearing, and the gameplay is fun. Did have some glitches before the first patch, and it still regularly crashes during cutscenes on my regular PS4, but that could be something with my system? People who prefer stealthier games might grumble a bit about this as they probably did with Odyssey, but I love open world hack and slash games. It's all I would play if I had to pick one genre. I actually hate stealth games and like the option of being able to BE stealthy if I feel like it because I lack patience.

An awesome game with open world. Exploration is a key in this version of Ac. It's like the mix of age of empire rightly blended with assassin creed. A highly recommended game. The graphics and story line is fantastic.

I played original Assassin's Creed and Black Flag. Liked both, great game engine / mechanics. This is not just the same game with a new skin... they upped the ante and pulled off a fantastic PS5 launch title (the best launch title in my opinion). I played it first on PS4 the week before PS5 launch and its a fantastic game there as well, nearly identical minus faster loading times and sexier graphics. If you liked playing the Assassin's Creed games - buy it. If you like playing stealth, action, RPGs - buy it. If you are a fan of Norse/Viking mythos - buy it. If you got a PS5 and wondering what to play - buy it. You will not regret it.

It's the feel of AC you've grown to love but with vikings! Large open world, plenty of activities and missions, and the oh so appealing combat and satisfaction of bum rushing someone off a cliff. Or lobbing off their head with ease. May Oden bless your sails.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla delivers a captivating journey into the Viking Age, offering a vast open-world experience filled with stunning landscapes and rich historical detail. The game successfully immerses players in the Norse culture, allowing them to lead a Viking settlement and make impactful choices throughout the narrative. Visually, Valhalla is a triumph, with breathtaking environments and detailed character designs. The game's exploration is complemented by a dynamic weather system and day-night cycle, enhancing the overall atmospheric experience. The narrative unfolds with a mix of historical events and fictional elements, weaving a compelling tale of Eivor, a Viking raider. The character development and interactions with a diverse cast of characters contribute to the game's narrative strength. Valhalla introduces new gameplay elements, such as raiding, settlement management, and a revamped combat system. The combat is visceral and brutal, embracing the Viking warrior spirit. The addition of dual-wielding weapons and special abilities adds depth to the gameplay, providing a satisfying mix of strategy and action. While the game excels in many aspects, some players may find its size overwhelming, with a massive open world that can occasionally feel daunting. Additionally, a few technical issues, like minor bugs and performance fluctuations, were present at launch, though subsequent updates may have addressed these. In conclusion, Assassin's Creed Valhalla stands out as a noteworthy addition to the series, offering an epic adventure filled with exploration, intense combat, and a captivating narrative set against the backdrop of Viking history. Despite a few minor hiccups, it successfully delivers an immersive and enjoyable experience for fans of the franchise and newcomers alike.

ALRIGHT. hear me out. I think AC Odyssey was the best in the franchise. This one has a lot more customizations to account for, different health and fighting meters, among other add-ons. I do like the game play though - so, it's pretty good.

Grea games, unfortunately, there are still a few bugs that may (hopefully) get patched in the very near future. Great series and always love an open-world adventure that doesn't force you down any one specific path.

This game is the best of the series. This is a must have for any PS4/PS5 user. There is so much to do and the story is dependent on your decisions. Overall 10/10 game because of story and graphics.

It’s an excellent role playing game with a very thin coat of Assassin’s Creed paint. If you are looking to a return to old school AC games, this probably isn’t it. The emphasis is mostly on action and brutal 300-style combo finishers. It makes for some flashy gameplay, but doesn’t really feel like it fits properly into the rest of the AC franchise. You can however tweak some of the gameplay settings to allow for more stealth based gameplay and sneaking. If you enjoyed Origins and Odyssey, then you are probably going to get a lot of mileage out of Valhalla. Speaking of mileage...the game world/map might not be nearly as large as Odyssey’s, but boy is it dense. There is enough to do in this game to keep you busy for 75+ hours easily. The main story can tend to drag a bit with a lot of content you are forced to consisting of “weakening enemy forces”. This typically consists of burning supplies and taking out camps spread across certain regions. That can feel like a chore, but the main story is quite compelling, even giving you plenty of choices to customize your Eivor. There is also a huge improvement in the loot system from Origins and Odyssey. You are no longer showered with thousands of pieces of useless loot to dismantle, every weapon and piece of armor has a very specific purpose, stat, and look behind it. As such, you may play a large portion of the early game in the same type of armor, which may annoy some people. Fortunately, you can purchase armor location maps from your homestead cartographer not too far into the game which will help you customize the look and play of Eivor. Fantastic game overall, and I’ve absolutely enjoyed my time in this world. Story can derail a bit and go to some crazy places, but it’s a journey worth sticking with.

Very good game. I like the story and the gameplay is good. The map is huge. Sometimes the game can get choppy and the audio is a bit glitchy at times but its still a very good game.
