The Assassin's Creed games have continued to transition to open world action RPGs and have done away from their stealth beginnings. This one looks to continue that tradition but it does bring more of the stealth gameplay that was missing. It also looks amazing on the next gen hardware. If you've liked what Assassin's Creed Origins and Odyssey have started for the franchise, you will love what Valhalla continues to do.

This game plays like the child of Odyssey with the previous installments. For fans disappointed by Odyssey they will see the return of some of their favorite features. For fans of Odyssey, this game is less pen world, with more quest direction. Thee skill tree is not straight-forward, but the armor upgrade system is great. Gear does not "level out," so gear feels less disposable. Lore is fun.

Very good game I've been playing this game for about 2 weeks straight the only cons that I have to this game is it's buggy and glitchy I've ran into several bugs that wouldn't let me progress in the storyline and currently I'm in that situation now so until they fix that bug in the game I can't progress anymore in the storyline but despite that the game is good it's a good game I really enjoy this game I just really hope they fix this bug before I get this interested in this game

Just like the last 2 predecessors, it's a huge open-world RPG game with an enormous amount of content. It's the biggest and lengthiest Assassin's Creed game yet! It's got a great story with great characters. It's fun to raid villages around Medevil England like a real Viking in order to help build up your own town!

After enjoying Odyssey for hours on end I figured I'd give Valhalla a shot. After playing for some hours it has become apparent that the developers wanted to make a game that built off Odyssey but still carried some of what made the original games good. I believe they failed in their endeavor. The technical glitches are abundant, and the overall feel of this game is that it was a low-effort cash-grab. To start the leveling system is boring and uninspired. You get skill points for talking to people, progressing in the story, and other mundane tasks. This allows you to upgrade light melee, stealth damage, and other stats by a mere 1.7 units of damage each level. Every once in a while you get a skill that brings some variety to the game, but the skills don't feel impactful. Because of this, the combat doesn't feel satisfying. There are aspects of the game that are cool in theory. Raids are a big selling point for the game, but due to the technical glitches and the uninspired combat, they feel half-baked and lame. Simple things like looting a chest can eat up 5-10 seconds during a raid - a time when people are in the midst of battle and there's carnage happening all around you. I suppose you can wait and pillage all the loot once everyone is dead, but due to the aforementioned issues, the whole thing falls flat. Base building exists only as busywork. Collect resources from the boring raid you just did in order to open up shops and upgrades for your horses. Instead of feeling like a living, breathing settlement it begins to feel like Clash of Clans where you're waiting to accrue enough resources to get to something greater. The story is the only thing that is keeping me in this game. The story is about brotherhood (how fitting) and how a tribe of Vikings come to England to start a new life. The modern-day story is still there, but at this point who is even keeping up with it? There are some interesting and great additions to the customizability of the game such as guaranteed assassinations. Being able to stealth through a camp and get to the leader and stab them in the head is the way the original Assassin's Creed went and it could be fun but maybe a bit boring at times. It is still a lot better than assassinating a target only for them to throw you off and say "Ouch! Anyways." was one of the most frustrating things of Odyssey. In Valhalla, you can turn on the guaranteed assassination and go back to the playstyle of old AC games - even if it's only for this particular aspect. There are a lot of accessibility options which is a huge plus to anyone - even those who are not handicapped. I'm glad to see Ubisoft continuing down that path. Overall the game is just not worth the $60 price tag. Getting any Assassin's Creed game at launch just isn't worth it anymore. Save your money and wait for it to be $20 in 6 months to a year.
