An audio extractor via optical was meant to be my solution (what this item is) however it did nothing. Set it up correctly and it showed no sign of life as no signal would pass through nor does it have aiggt or any visual indication that it's enabled. Tried numerous USB power methods via the tv, phone charger, panamax, the Xbox and nothing. Tired most basic audio settings and adjustments and nothing. This thing could be DOA or it's blocking the signal for Xbox passing but I don't think that's the issue. It should be universal. Unit didn't work as intended or advertised so I will be returning it for a refund. Might wanna add on this does not have HDMI 2.1 support for 4k @120hz. It's only HDMI 2.0b which caps at 4k/60hz. Astro's has a support page and a blog you can find by googling specs of the unit because it's not on the box, no instructions and not on BBY's info page. Not sure about HDR support. My Xbox was configured to 1440p, 120hz, 10bit, HDR10, VRR, ALLM and no setting anything higher or lower on or off could get it to work.

Posted .Hello NedNewt! You should definitely be able to use the ASTRO Gaming HDMI Adapter for PlayStation 5 with the Xbox Series X, yes. If you're sure everything is connected fine, meaning: the small included HDMI cable from the Series X HDMI port to your HDMI Adapter's HDMI Input, the microSD cable from the HDMI Adapter to one of the Series X USB ports, the HDMI cable from the HDMI Adapter's Output to one of your TV's HDMI ports, and then finally the Optical cable from the Optical port on the HDMI Adapter, to your speaker system's Optical Input. No changes on the Xbox Settings should be made, and it should work right away. If it's not, then you might have gotten a faulty unit somehow, if that's the case, know that you have a 1-year warranty on the HDMI Adapter with Astro. - Mathieu from Logitech

Something's needed but not well designed

But the problem is even if your canceled is in rest mode your TV keeps selecting it saying that it's receiving signal. There's no way around it but unplugging it when you're not using it also it gets very very hot but according to Astro this is by design. So overall not pleased with this product considering it comes directly from Astro

The strips of the audio control on the headphones, so I can no longer adjusted up and down. This defaults the sound to the headphones on startup. I also seem to have an audio issue when is switching back to the Apple TV for whatever reason I get no audio and I think it’s related to this device because it’s still pulling audio from the PlayStation and sending it to the TV.
