The god news is while troubleshooting I found out it’s not required any longer. I’m guessing some did an update to make it work with the micro usb lil on PC

Its supposed to make it possible to use the Logitech headsets made to work with the PlayStation 4. The reason I bought it was to use the spdif signal for my old surround sound system. Unfortunately, this device is garbage. First off, I noticed the serial number on the box didn’t match the on on the product itself (off by 1 number on all 3 units I tested) Second none of the 3 units I tested worked. The second unit did finally produce sound after unplugging and replugging the usb power cable, but the sound constantly cut in and out. And third, the units got hot when in use. Not too hot to touch, but hot enough to know this unit wasn’t being cooled properly. Lastly, this product supports HDMI 2.0. It’s fine for a good amount of users, but not for those with a 120hz 4k display. Stay away

Posted .Hello Volknikker! Sorry to hear the ASTRO HDMI Adapter for Playstation 5 didn't work like had hoped it would. This adapter was basically created as a way for people to enable the game:voice balance and EQ profiles on their current Astro products with their new console (since the optical port was removed from the PS5 console): Gen 3 and Gen 4 A50 Wireless + Base Stations, Gen 3 and Gen 4 MixAmp Pro TR, and Gen 1 A20 Wireless products. It support the following: Supports: HDMI 2.0b Pass-through, Max Resolution: 4k, Max 4k Frame Rate: 60Hz, HDR: Yes. HDCP Certified: Yes, and HDMI Certified: Yes. In terms of Resolution / Frame Rates, you can get the following: 720p / 120 Hz, 1080p / 240 Hz, 1440p / 144 Hz, and 4k / 60 Hz. The reason why we did not go for HDMI 2.1, which features 4k / 120 Hz and 8K, and opted for HDMI 2.0b for this adapter is because 2.0b covers the majority of users and their hardware going into this next generation of consoles, and to reduce the price of the adapter as well. For people who do want to get the extra 4K / 120 Hz and 8K options, you can definitely find other adapters out there, but they're going to be a bit more costly. - Mathieu from Logitech

Don’t get me wrong, it works just great but it takes up a USB! That threw me off real quick. Very disappointing why Sony PlayStation wouldn’t just make it’s own connection to anyone who has spend money on their Astros I would’ve given it a 5 star but that extra USB port gave it away.
