Works how it should
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wish this had HDMI 2.1 capability, but for now I guess it isn’t really needed. Does what it’s supposed to do.

Worked for about 4 hrs then died
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’m very disappointed in this product. It’s sole purpose is to split the signal coming from the HDMI into video (hdmi) and sound (optical), it did not deliver. I spent a good 2.5hrs trying to get the settings right and unfortunately after I found setting that suited my needs the unit was only good for about 2 hours and then stopped outputting video. I could hear the sound but couldn’t see anything. I tried different ports, different cables, power cycling, you name it. All to no avail. Sadly I had to return it to the store. After some more digging, i discovered that you do not need this if you have the option for optical out on your TV. Still.. considering the headset is $300, the adapter is 40, an extra base for my Xbox is $100, and the 48mbs(HDMI 2.1) cables are about $30 each the setup and ease of use shouldn’t require so much work.

Use your TV if you can
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Don’t waste your money if your TV has an optical out. Audio is never set to the right setting.

Read before you buy
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This thing is overpriced and basically useless. Yes it works, but Astro said it supports 1440p, but it doesn’t. According to the spec of the HDMI is has, it should. Astro then stated it does not. I have a 4k HDR 120hz TV that with this installed can only display 1080p. I’ll just stick to the Microsoft headset I got and use my Astro A50s on my PC. Why would I want to downgrade my visuals to upgrade my audio??? Very poor design choice from ASTRO. If you’re going to market this device for PS5 and Xbox series X, then you should probably match the same HDMI version that both of those devices have. Or better yet you could upgrade the horrible USB driver we have to use so that it actually makes the headset sound comparable to how they sound through optical. My advice would be to wait for one that has HDMI 2.1. I believe there is one available but it’s really hard to find. This device is definitely not recommended

||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is dumb you buy a 300 dollar headset and to use it with the ps5 you have to purchase this 40 dollar thing then it takes most of your usb plug ins from the system honestly I don’t think it’s worth it I got rid of my A50’s because of this hassle

Works as intended

Not worth it!
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very disappointing! I've had to replace this unit four times. Earlier today, it stopped sending signal to my monitor. Paying $299 for the headset then $40 for the adaptor is a bite. Would NOT recommenrd
