I’ve had these astros for a while now and they’re still in great condition. The pads are removable so you can clean them, the speakers used for audio is very immersive and clear for whatever game you’re playing them with. Microphone is a little lacking in quality, but other than that it’s a comfy headset w/ a long battery life (17 hours) and easy to setup.

This headset is great. Used HyperX cloud wired for years but was in the market for a wireless headset but wanted to get a new pair to go along with my new PS5. Did a lot of research and actually purchased multiple headsets (HyperX Core 7.1, Steelseries 7p, the Pulse 3D by Sony and these) and these won me over. Super comfortable around the ears to where you will not sweat after long useage and be irritated, not tight on the head, the sound is really clear and the mic is great. The price point was affordable. Overall, I would recommend this headset for anyone in the market for a new pair

When buying this headset I was skeptical because it was a pre-order. I usually run low-end headsets around the $60-$100 marks. But overall, this headset is very comfortable, the charge is insane up to I believe 15 hours of battery life, it's multi-platform for PS4, PS5, and PC, it's simple to set up, and I would recommend this headset to anyone who wants a quality build a reliable headset.
The only downside to this headset is if you have a big head. There's a certain limit to how far it extends and if you dislike headsets that are snug to your head creating pressure for several hours of use. Maybe this isn't the one if that really bothers you.

Solid Wireless Gaming at Attractive Price

The Astro A20 Wireless headset is a good gaming headset with great sound. Out of the box the headset comes with the USB transmitter and a USB type-A to USB type-C charging cable. The USB dongle is huge at 2” when plugged in, long by today’s standards. The type-C charging cable is a nice addition as it is much more durable than micro USB.
First impression of the A20’s was reminiscent of Star Wars gear; they look amazingly cool and ready for Gaming!
The exterior of the headset is made entirely out of plastic which is a bit rigid. The headband flexes the most but held up to excessive twisting. Earcups are made from the same cloth as other Logitech headsets which felt comfortable even during extended periods of use. Headband material is made of a rubber-like material which is comfortable as well. The earpieces do not twist/swivel front to rear like similar gaming headsets. The feeling of the headset when I touch them is an overly plastic tactile sensation with accompanying plastic sound to the ear, not an upscale impression.
Controls on the headset are easily accessible nicely designed and effortlessly controlled in the middle of gaming or chatting.
With “Astro Audio V2” technology the headphones have exceptional sound with three preset EQ settings easily accessible with a single button. The integrated microphone sounds noticeably clear and is outstanding compared to similar headset microphones.
Key specs:
• Frequency response: 20 Hz - 20 kHz
• Sensitivity: 100 dB SPL 1kHz @ 1mW
• Nominal impedance: 32 Ohm
• Total harmonic distortion: < 3% (20 Hz - 10 kHz)
The headset is intended to last over 15 hours off a single charge; however, my headset never ran out of charge, probably thanks to the 10-minute auto shutdown “feature”. The auto shutdown had me constantly having to restart my headphones frequently when no audio is playing. Found the auto shutdown to be annoying and an option to turn off the auto shutdown would be welcomed.
With the charging cable being quite long you can continue gaming while on charge. Nice.
With a 2.4ghz connection the headset’s range is 15 feet. Expected a bit longer range from the size of the transmitter but this should not affect anything. Did notice that when the headphones are almost out of range you get a popping sound, which is not a significant issue.
Delivering wonderful audio with an extremely attractive price point makes the Astro A20 Wireless headset a solid choice if you are looking to go wireless.

Pretty good gaming headset. This purchase was actually the second pair of these that i have picked up. Ive been using these on my playstation for (i think) 3 years? I bought these for my kid when santa gave him a playstation for christmas (he must have written a pretty good letter to the big man up north). Anyway he loves them too. Theyre easy to use, comfortable, and build quality is good. I bought them originally as a replacement to a headset that had faux leather cushions that were disintegrating. After a few years of using, they have kept their shape and keep working perfectly.

I come from using the Astro A40's for years and am now well accustomed to the Game/Chat mixer on their Amps and while these don't feel as premium as those, it does carry that Astro aesthetic.
The sound is loud and the headset was comfortable thanks to the plush breathable earcups and headband material. The construction is mostly durable plastic that feels sturdy yet unfortunately unflexible and easily breakable. The headset is wireless and uses a USB A dongle that easily paired with my PS4 but didn't work on my TV. The white and blue color scheme wad appreciated and will easily fit alongside the PS5 and its accessories. At a price of $119.99, this headset is easily recommendable to anyone looking for a new Playstation headset. Now while the Astro's A20 have a "Game" button on the left of an "Infinity Wheel" used for the Volume, and a "Chat" button on the right of it, the issue is, any time I go to touch the Game or Chat buttons, I end up hitting that volume wheel which is really really annoying. This one feature and its implementation really bring this Headset down for me.
I was debating getting these or the Sony Pulse 3D's (which have been selling out and hard to find) since they were both the cheapest whilst still reliable brand headsets that have a Game/Chat mixer. While I would preferred a knob, wheel, or dial for the Volume and Game/Chat mixer like the Astro A40's have thanks to the Modular Amp, the Sony Pulse 3D appeal to me by having buttons similar to the Astro A20`s BUT they are adequately seperated and placed to avoid confusion. I have also tried the Steel Series headsets like the Arctis 7P, which are amazingly comfortable and stylish but they didn't have a Game/Chat mixer at all. The 7X's have the mixer feature but it only works for Xbox and the wheel doesn't do anything on Playstation. The 2019 7's have it but the Mixer just ends up working as a second Volume dial.
While I would have liked to spent more time with this headset for a more detailed review on the headset itself, it's hard to not weigh all my options. We're on the cusp of a new gaming console generation and I want to be ready day one and completely be happy with my headset purchase.

I really like the wound quality all around with these A20 headphones. These are simply l.ug n play right out of the box. Not the prettiest looking over the earheadphones but they get the job done.
The usb plug in dongle is extra large unlike other wire, ess headphones I have. I wish these had a sleeker look, but its not a deal breaker as I don't wear them in public. Overall good build quality and I highly recommend these.
These use a usb c cable for charging as most newer devices do.

Got this for my son as he tends to go through headsets ridiculously fast. Some brands break, or something stops working after a month or so. So far, he’s 4 months in and this one is still going strong.
I highly recommend this brand and all of their different styles for headsets. Very durable, comfortable and user friendly.

Great headset for the money, but a little soft, i can hear clearly everything but voice chat tends to be lower volume no matter that i do setting wise with these. Quality is great, only complaint is the volume levels. So if you are hard of hearing or older or just like it really loud, this isnt your headset. If you have avg or normal hearing you probly wont have a problem.

I love Astro headsets. I have the A40 TR's (previous gen before the current) on my Gaming PC and the A50 (current gen) on my PS4 Pro. I've also owned several other Astro's in the past. They are, without a doubt, some of my favorite gaming cans. Now, a while back, Logitech bought Astro, but kept the Astro branding. That's finally starting to show and I'm beginning to feel the lower quality is starting to kick in... Let me explain.
As my current gen A50 wireless cans are what I've been using on my PS4 Pro, I may be a little spoiled by them. I love those headphones. I have a small hearing disability and the volume can get LOUD, while keeping it's superb quality. I listen to it at between 1/2 to 3/4 of the max volume, depending on the game and it's comfortable enough for me. I've always kept the firmware updated on them (I hook it to my PC and check every few months) and have never had any issues. There's a reason I'm prefacing the review of these A20's with this. And yes, I know you cannot fairly compare the A20's to their flagship A50's. But there are some elements and differences I'd like to discuss.
Now, with the PS5 and Xbox Series X coming around the corner, my A50's will require an HDMI Adapter from Astro, if I want to keep it fully functional - this has a built-in optical input on it, so you can still use the game/voice balance feature. But, here's the problem - that adapter is only HDMI 2.0b...NOT HDMI 2.1. I want to be able to take advantage of HDMI 2.1 when I can and do not want any "bottlenecks", so to speak. I'm using the new LG CX TV and it is ready to go with FreeSync Premium and all the other features. I'm rocking the Samsung Q90R Soundbar as well, but I'm running everything via e-Arc. So, when I seen these A20's, I thought it would simplify my setup and I could just move my A50's to my Gaming PC and take the A40's and use them on my daughter's PC.
Now, for the biggest selling point of this headset - you can buy the USB transmitter for the other system and can use one headset for both systems. While my A20's (for PS4/PS5) were being shipped, I went ahead and ordered the Xbox USB transmitter, just so I'd have it for when I got my Series X. When I got my A20's, I was so ecstatic. I couldn't wait - the packaging was so nice. I tore into them and put them on charge immediately. They were not fully charged out of the box, so it took a few hours to get fully charged. All that was included inside was the Headset, the USB Transmitter, the USB-C (nice!) charging cable and a quick-start guide.
Ok, they're charged. First thing I do, as with any new gadget/device, is to check for a Firmware update. So, I put the Transmitter in my PC and verify it's on PC mode (a white light). Fire up the Astro Command center and...they're not detected. Ok, odd. So, I figure you have to hook them up via the USB cable. I plug them in (while leaving the Transmitter in as well) and ...no-go. I spent about 20 minutes trying to get it recognized. Counting it as a loss, I e-mail Astro and then plug them into my PS4 Pro. Tap the button to switch to PS4 mode (a blue light) and everything connects and is defaulted correctly. I put them on, change the Audio from "Chat Only" to "All Audio", like normal and...no audio. Looking at the side of the cans. the volume wheel is labeled "Voice" and "Game". I have it all the way over to the Game side and there's nothing. After about 15 minutes of troubleshooting, rotate the wheel all the way to the Voice side and I have audio. But it's not very loud. I keep scrolling and welp, looks like this is about as loud as they get... Slightly disappointed at the overall volume (I was playing Shadow of War at the time), I discover that the blue wheel controls the volume and that the "Game" and "Voice" are actual BUTTONS and not just indicators on which way to scroll the wheel, as they are on other Astro headsets. Please note: The Voice and Game balance buttons do NOT work on PS4/PS5. These only work on PC and Xbox systems.
I change games to Nioh 2. The Darkness in the Capital DLC just came out and I'm working my way through it. The audio on Nioh 2 is a bit louder than it was on Shadow of War. So, I've got the volume wheel maxed as far as the audio will go. At max, the volume is about where it is on my A50's at 1/2 - 3/4 of the way. So, I'm slightly disappointed in how loud these get. I was hoping there would be a firmware update to possibly increase this. Speaking of - I did get a reply from Astro. The A20's do not yet currently have an update and is not compatible at this time with their Command Center software. They are working on updates, however. But who knows when this will go live. Astro also said that these would fully support the Tempest audio engine of the PS5 - which I thought was weird because Sony will not allow any 3rd party headsets to use Surround Sound via USB. This is limited to only their 1st party headsets. Hopefully, this will change soon.
I also wanted to touch base on how they feel and comfort and go over the audio quality. Now, for the price, I don't expect them to feel as premium as my A50's. Which is fine. The A20's are super light-weight and feel great on, but my biggest issue is they just feel stiff. The ear cups do NOT rotate. At all. This would be my biggest caveat with them. As for audio quality, outside of the overall volume, they do sound a bit hollow and "tinny", compared to my other Astro's or even other brands of gaming cans I own. Maybe a firmware update will help, but I'm basing my review on the out-of-box experience, since that's not currently available. Being a bit disappointed, I cancelled my Xbox USB Transmitter. They'd been on order for over a week at this point, never billed and never shipped. So, I'm gonna move these over to the "spare" headset category for my wife and daughter to use on the PS4 in the front room. I'll remain on the search for a better pair of PS5/Xbox headphones.
Conclusion: These will be the first pair of Astro's where I give less than 5 stars. I'm going with 3 out of 5 stars for these due to the max volume level, quality of audio and the general "stiffness" of them. I'll continue to look elsewhere for some gaming cans that better fit my needs and expectations.

Perfect Next Gen Headset

With the impending next generation of gaming looming around the corner ready to usher in a new era, Astro aims to secure your hard earned cash with it's new gaming headsets. Featuring the all new A20 wireless gen 2's, it's clear no punches are being pulled as Astro sets the bar for the next generation of audio technology. During my time with this product, (playstation, PC version), I was immediately impressed by the familiar yet updated and surprisingly lightweight design. The headset fits firmly and comfortably around my head, even with glasses. I had no issues with long term fatigue or warmer temperatures typically found with other headsets. Out of the gate, setup was easy and straight forward when connecting to my ps4. Turn it on, plug in the receiver, pair and done. Wires are so last-gen and the connectivity distance is very reasonable. Battery life is equally as impressive with an estimated 15 hours, that's easily a week's worth of gaming for me with no charge. I was also pleased to have 3 preset EQ settings that adapted to the type of game I was playing. In terms of audio, Astro knocked it out of the park. Over 5 hours in and I'm still awestruck by the level of detail showcased in the 40 mm speakers. Surround sound takes the stage and you will not be disappointed. From fast paced high octane fps gameplay, where every footstep counts, to the sound of your engine switching gears as you round a corner in a race, to the field where crowds roar and the impact of your tackle trembles on screen. This headset truly transcends you into the game world, with sound you can feel. Mic quality is top notch with others able to hear me clearly with no popping or static noise. Immersion is fully realized here and if your looking for your next headset to jump in and game with your best mates, I highly recommend the A20 gen 2's.

These are the best bang for the buck. Long charge life, and the Real 3D sound is next level, even on Hunt Showdown which has the best sound of any Gabe. Mic can me muted simply by sliding it into the up position. Plug and play. Just plugged the usb piece in the PlayStation and it worked instantly. I can chat while across the house in the other room if I have to run to the kitchen in between matches.
