Great Sound, Comfort and Range….
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easy setup, just plug the included USB into your Xbox, turn on the A20 and it automatically links up, then you are good to go. The A20’s fit nicely on my head and are pretty comfortable especially for a long gaming marathon. A con is they aren’t noise cancelling which I do like in a gaming headphone so there are less intrusions into my game play. Battery life is great at a stated 15 hours, I have used for multiple sessions without having to charge, but you could also just charge after every use to always keep the batteries ready to go. There are 3 preset EQ settings to help you pick the best sound profile to suit the game you are playing and with an advertised 50 foot range you can jump and walk around to your hearts content and not lose the signal, I had absolutely no issues with the range. I love the flip up to mute boom microphone so when real life does intrude the whole gaming community wont hear your wife, kids etc..the mic is also not noise cancelling though which is another con as your fellow gamers can hear things in your house if its noisy. The A20’s are visually appealing for sure and if the noise cancelling cons are not deal breakers these should be great for your gaming needs.

Pretty good option
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As soon as you open the headset packaging, the first impression is that its massive, but does not feel premium. The touch has a cheap plastic feel to it. But that also plays into it being light despite its size, making it so easy to wear for long periods of time. The earcups again have that cheap feeling cloth to touch, but they are super comfortable. Overall, this is the best example of not judging a book by its cover. Once you wear them, you don't care how premium they look or feel, you just don't feel them at all, which is the best thing you can say about headphones you have to wear for long. Beyond this, the setup was effortless on the PS4, essentially there is no setup, its plug and play with the dongle. The audio quality is good but I have always had an issue with all PS4 headphones - the max volume is just not high enough. But I can't fault these headphones for it. During party chats, my friends could hear my crisply without any audio feedback, and the flip to mute feature works like a charm. And every item I review nowadays, gets a plus just if it has a USB C charging port. And this one does as well.

Cheap throw away headset
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Headset shuts off automatically at undetermined intervals. Headset fail point is the the mic arm movement for mute. This worked for about 4 days. Now there is static and mute only works intermittently. This is a cheap throw away headset.

ok headset
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.ok headset but for over 100$ i feel there are better headsets. the mic quality is not that great and has a crackle sound to it. when i mute the mic the crackle goes away. i enjoy headsets that flip up and mute. but the ones i like are the ones that mute about half way up. these mute when they are all the way up. so if eating, its a bit harder to flip down from up. if you have them on, but lets say just checking out the internet and no sound goes thru the headsets they turn after after a few minutes. (maybe 5). kinda annoying for me. suppose for some its nice, cause if you take it off and forget to turn off, they will auto turn off. but maybe more like 10-15 minutes then. at least i cant find, but it would have been nice to have a battery voice prompt or something when turn on? but they just make a 3 beep sound when turn on and off. few things i do like. like i mentioned i do like that at least the mic does flip up. and does mute. the sound, its not to bass heavy. if you like that then not for you. but its has a good overall sound. like that, as some bass heavy headsets can make it harder to hear footsteps. especially if grenades, gunshots etc. are going off. they are very comfortable. and they are basic, so although the instructions did not say much, was pretty easy to use and know. the charge cord and battery. i did not max out the battery. i used them for about 10 hours and still the same sounding. they say 15 hours. believable. however for the most part i was not as worried. why, because they have a decent length cord. about 5 feet. and so you can charge up while using them. the cord is a usb c into the headset and then a regular usb A. i am glad they at least used a wireless adaptor thats 2.4ghz. from my experience these seem to handle interferences better and have decent range. i have a couple headsets that use a 2.4ghz and these had the same range as those. few things i would have liked to see. removable mic and ear sides. the mic is not great, i love the flip but i would have liked to remove as well. this way if a better mic is available, to give that option then to swap out. the ear pieces, i know the A40 you can remove and customize. i would have loved to also maybe see a button on the mic or easy button press close to also mute. i would have loved to have either seen a case or a way to store the usb wireless receiver in the headset. or even a simple way to attach it. overall, i gave this a 3 star. i just feel for now, the price at 120$ is not worth it. if these were wired, i feel like they are about a 50-60 dollar headset quality. being wireless add 20 dollars maybe for making wireless and so maybe around a 80 dollar headset. at most 100$ if the price was 100$ i would say about a 4 star. 80-90 dollars and i then would say for that price its a solid headset then and maybe a 4.5 and worth to buy. especially if you are someone who is a pc and console player. but for now i dont recommend.

The best wireless gaming headset option
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The A20 wireless has excellent audio quality and offers a comfortable, yet bulky design. For gaming I don't take any stars off for bulky, loud designs as its kind of the norm for gaming hardware, whether console or PC gaming. I got good feedback that the mic quality was improved on this headset over my previous wired model, and the headphone volume and clarity is great. The headset is adjustable to a wide variety of sizes, and fit my large head well. This headset seems to be one of the better I've used. I don't mess around with virtual surround settings too much nor have I dealt with many of the other wireless high end headset features, but if you're looking for good stereo quality and great microphone/chat functionality, this is your headset!

Good but different from what I’m used to
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wireless works great and sound is crisp and clear. The microphone is solid and you won’t have people asking to repeat yourself. The cushions around the speakers are amazing and the felt is so soft! I feel like I can wear for a few hours with no trouble! Game play sounded great and amazing. You can crank the volume up high which I like when I needed it. I actually prefer this brand over others. My negatives: the square top head looks little weird. I don’t like the controls on my right side I like them on my left side. I keep reaching for the wrong side as all my other headsets have always had all the buttons and dials on the left. The wireless fob is a little long as it sticks out the back of my PS4 which might be troublesome if you have a tight space for you system.

Great sound, multi platform a big plus
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’m a long time gamer that has been using a wired Razer headset on my PS4 for some time now. I love my Razer headset, but I don’t know about PS5 compatibility and I’m finally ready for a wireless headset. IN THE BOX Pretty simple, the headset itself, a USB-C charging cable and the USB transmitter. As you can tell on the description, this headset works for both PS4/PS5 and PC. I believe if you purchase a separate USB adapter the headset will also work on the Xbox ecosystem. USE I first wanted to make sure I had a full charge. I plugged it in and after a couple of hours, the orange light indicating it was charging was still on. I don’t know how empty the battery was, but it seemed to take a while. This isn’t a big deal so long as you plan on charging your headset accordingly. When I’m playing video games by myself, I’m enjoying the full splendor of surround sound. But when I’m gaming with friends, I use my headset. I found the headset surprisingly easy to set up. You simply plug the USB adapter (about the size of a long USB thumb drive) into your PS4, hold the power button, and once it turns on, you’re up and running. The microphone is muted while in the “up” position and all you do is swing it down and it’s activated. Pretty easy and I like it being out of the way when you don’t need it. COMFORT/BUILD QUALITY This is all plastic but it’s well built. You can adjust the height to accommodate those with larger heads (me) and it fit just fine. I was a little curious about the decision with foam ear cup pads. I was used to the Razer and it’s leather-ish feel. But it didn’t bother me at all. I found the cups to surround my ears completely. I generally don’t game for longer than a 2-3 hour stretch and I found this headset to be very comfortable. I wouldn’t say that they feel like you’re not wearing them, but their light and comfy and didn’t bother me in the least. I can’t really speak for longer gaming sessions. I should also mention they didn’t make my ears hot. SOUND QUALITY They were great. The specs are impressive sounding, but all you need to know is that they are completely immersive and offer surround sound. For example, playing Call of Duty or Red Dead, you can hear the sounds coming from all sides, even behind you. I just thought the sound was impressive. Mic feedback was a little different. My friends could tell that my voice sounded different than my Razer headset (sound felt teeny to them) but they could understand me just fine. This obviously isn’t a big deal to me, so long as they hear me I’m fine. But I was a little disappointed this Astro set didn’t provide the same mic pickup quality as my Razer headset. GRIPE My big gripe with this headset is the lack of sidetone. I feel I might be in the minority here, but when talking with my friends, I like to hear myself talk in the headset. It just feels odd to talk and not really hear myself, I can’t gauge how loud I’m talking. If you don’t care about sidetone, or never used a headset with it, this may not matter. I wouldn’t say it was a dealbreaker, but I was hoping this headset had it. There’s an option to turn sidetone off/on within the PS4 menus, but that was disabled which indicates to me it doesn’t have it. VALUE I have to mention the value proposition. As a $120 headset, for its features and sound quality, it’s easy to recommend. But what makes it even better is that you can buy a separate Xbox USB adapter to use for Xbox. This is a big plus for those that game on both platforms. Not to mention PC gaming. While I don’t play online (and don’t talk) when PC gaming I do where headphones to keep audio down and it’s nice to be able to use the same headset. I can put aside my minor gripe of lack of sidetone knowing that I can use this headset for PC/PS4/Xbox for $120 plus the cost of a separate $20 adapter. So kudos to Astro for making one headset to rule them all. CONCLUSION This is a great sounding and comfortable headset. I will be purchasing a PS5 and am excited to have a headset that will work across all platforms. I don’t know if I will incorporate all the fancy sound tech in the PS5, but until I hear it I don't know what I’m missing and having cross-platform capabilities is the best feature here.

Durable with excellent battery life…
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Astro Gaming - A20 Wireless Stereo Gaming Headset Gen 2 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, PC and Mac - White/Blue Durable with excellent battery life… This headset is used only on a PC desktop and laptop connected with the USB transmitter. I always like to talk about how comfortable a headset is, since sound quality and style and so forth are not so important if the headset doesn’t fit well or gets tiring after a few hours. In that respect, the Astro Gaming is very light on the head, and the ear cups are very soft with fabric covering. The ear cups stay comfortable and don’t get hot or sweaty when using the headset for hours at a time. The adjustments for head side are done by sliding the ear cup arms up and down – which can be done independently for both left and right sides. The form fitting all along the headband is not quite even, at least for my head, and there was more pressure on top of my head at the top of the headband than I have felt from other headsets. This isn’t a deal breaker, but after having these on for several hours, I do start to notice the pressure on top of my head. I have tried several adjustments and this seems to be the way things are. The pressure is not uncomfortable, but is noticeable. Microphone is OK – and has a long and flexible stem to bring the mic as close to your mouth as you want. You can put the mic all the way “up” and that will mute the mic if needed. Sound for me is a little on the low side – full volume is not “too much” and sometimes could use a little more volume. What I mean is that I can turn the headphones up “all the way” and my laptop up “all the way” and still wish I could get a little more volume. This may have more to do with my laptop than the headphones, as desktop volume is OK – but lower volume range is noticeable on my laptop compared to other headsets in the same price range. The volume control for sound and microphone use the same volume wheel - with a rocker to switch the control from earphone to microphone. This takes some getting used to, although some may prefer having less wheels to fiddle with. There are also a few should pre-sets that can be quickly changed if you don't want to use your computer sound controls to customize the levels. Automatic cut-off is pretty quick – as long as you have some sound coming in you are OK, but if you have the headphones on, but are not actively listening, they will cut off after a few minutes. This is OK and certainly saves on battery discharge, the long run-time for each charge takes away much of the concern about running out of juice > and if there are situations where it is quiet for a while, but you need to be able to hear when sound resumes, it would be nice to be able to disable the “auto off” feature if desired to avoid having to hit the power button to re-start the headset. Not a deal breaker, just a suggestion. Style of the headset is definitely a gaming appearance with the contrasting colors and streamlined appearance. Construction seems rugged, and I don’t see any weak spots where the ear cups connect to the headset that might crack or break. The connection system is more of a “rail” than a hinge or swivel, and that appears to be a solid system that can stand some stretching and twisting. I’m not concerned about and weak spots in the construction. Battery life is exceptional – I can’t really say how long the battery will last on a charge, as I have used the headphones for “all day” connection to both desktop and laptop for gaming, and videos, and general “YouTubing” and have not had the battery run out yet. I use them all day, then charge overnight. Overall a pretty good value for this price range. The sound is acceptable, microphone is clear and audible, comfortable for long periods of play, and the battery life is exceptional.
