Great comfort and sound quality
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far I am really enjoying this A20 Gen2 headset. 15 hours of battery life is respectable, though many wireless headsets these days boast 24 hour battery life. Still, at this price-point, 15 hours is a good value. The ear cups are soft and comfortable. They don't quite feel like memory foam, but it could just be a less dense memory foam. Either way the comfort is there. Controls are simple. On/Off, sound mode, volume wheel, and voice/game balance buttons are the only controls to worry about. Charging is via USB-C, though so far I have only been able to get it to charge with the included cable, and my high quality usb-c cables I use for my phone do not appear to charge this headset. The volume wheel has click indents, which is awesome. Free-spinning volume wheels often let you accidentally change volume without noticing. Overall very happy with the features, comforty, and sound quality of this budget-minded wireless headset.

Solid Performance, Comfortable Gaming Headset
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Astro Gaming - A20 Wireless Stereo Gaming Headset Gen 2 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, PC and Mac is a solid headset for your gaming needs. It works great with the PS4 as well as Mac and PC systems and should have no problems with the upcoming PS5. In reviewing this headset, I have some mixed feelings. In some areas, the headset does things very well, but in some other areas, I think it could improve a bit more. Setting up the headset to use with the PS4 was very easy. All I had to do was plug in the headset dongle into the USB port on the front of the PS4, power on the console and the headset, and I was ready to go. It is very easy to do. I even connected to a PC and Mac system and connectivity was just as easy. The dongle for this headset is bigger than some other dongles for headsets. This dongle comes out about 2-2.5 inches from the machine. Sticking out that far may not bother some, but it could be far enough to bump into accidentally. I mention this as something to be aware of. As for sound quality, the headset performs solidly. While this headset works great for gaming, I probably wouldn't use it for movies or music. Chat is great and clear although there is not a way on the headset to change the mix between the game audio and change audio. Also with the chat, you don't really hear yourself which may bother some. Gameplay sound is good but I did notice some white noise at the higher volume settings. There are also multiple EQ presets but it still felt like the upper frequency ranges were missing something. As for comfort, this headset gets an A. I wear glasses and using on the ear headsets usually causes problems for me after a while. This headset is really comfortable with glasses. I wore the headset for hours without feeling any pain from my glasses. While the headset fits securely, the earmuffs cushioning is soft enough to allow the ear pieces of the glasses to stay in place without discomfort. Perhaps my biggest concern with this headset is the durability. The headset is well built and looks very stylish. But the material is not thick and rigid. I keep wondering if I accidentally sat on the headset or bumped it if it would break. I may just be paranoid about this, but the plastic material is easily twisted. The materials are not thick either. This may be a trade off. Thicker materials would cause the headset to be heavier which could cause a gamer to become fatigued. But I just got the feeling that I could break the headset. In the end I really like this headset. The plusses far outweigh the minuses in my opinion. With the PS5 coming out soon, this should work very well for people looking to get a new headset for gaming. With the color design of the PS5, it should match nicely too. I would definitely recommend this headset to a friend.

Pretty solid, all around headset
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have the Astro A40s which is a really good headset. As good as they are, I really don't like wired headsets all that much so these A20's are the wireless, middle brother to the A40's. Sound is spot on as is the chat volume. The chat/volume slider is pretty similar to any other headset so just takes a sec to fine tune that piece. The controls for the headset are on the right ear which, odd as it sounds, takes a little while getting used to. Pretty much all the wireless headsets I've had, the controls were always on the left side so I'm used to that. Controls are pretty simple however the buttons click with nice responsive feedback. The headset charges via USB-C and the headset comes with a short charging cable. The fit of the headset is a bit off for me. The earcups, called me old fashioned, I prefer them to be leather or pleather. The microfiber fabric on these headsets is comfortable however it itches my ears if I play for a long time. The headband is a bit of an issue for me and those folks with big heads. Even with the earcups extended all the way, the headset feels tight on me. I wear a 7 3/8 fitted hat and this headset isn't tailored for those with large noggins. That said, it's a tight but comfortable feel. However, for long periods of time, it starts to get a bit itchy/uncomfortable for me. Overall, it's a quality headset. Sound is good, fit is good and battery life seems to be pretty good or on par with any other wireless headset.

Good Sound, Great Mic, Easy to Use
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’m using these headphones for gaming on my PC. They are designed for both the XBOX One and a PC or Mac. They’re easy to use, just plug in the included USB transmitter, press the small button on the transmitter, press the power button on the headset and they’re setup. From there, you can go into either the sound settings on your computer or the settings within the game you’re playing and select the headphone as your main source for audio and mic. This last step is necessary or sound will continue to come out of your computer’s speakers and not the headset. In terms of quality, the sound they produce is loud and clear. There is a decent amount of bass too. There’s also a button on the headphone that acts like an equalizer and provides two additional sound adjustments (for a total of 3) to tweak the levels of bass and treble. The circular volume knob on the headset is easy to reach and it does a good job adjusting the volume for either the sounds of the game or audio coming from other player’s mics. It’s nice that you can adjust these setting independently. To do so, you either press the audio button right below the circular volume knob before you adjust the volume, or you press the mic button right above the volume know to adjust just the mic audio. This level of customization built right into the headset is convenient. The headset itself is comfortable and the ear cushions are a soft padded material. I did notice they started to feel a little heavy after using them for hours, but that’s common with most gaming headsets. Overall, I’m satisfied with these headphones.

Decent Headset for PS4 and PC
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Decent Headset that works with PS4 or PC with WiFi dongle rated to work with the PS5. The unit works equally well with both the PC and PS4 with no discernible difference other than the balance buttons for voice and game only work on the PC. The sound is decent and has decent spatial qualities. It has to work with the WiFi dongle so no direct connect feature. The battery life is in excess of 15hrs and charges in a couple of hours. USB cable is included but no charging brick. The headset has good adjustments for fitment, but ear cups are locked into one position and fit well. They are fully plastic but have a nice design. This also makes them light. The ear cups have microfiber covering and are comfortable. One thing to note is on the PS4 if the dongle is plugged in the console thinks the headset is there even if it is turned off. The dongle will need to be PC mode (yellow on dongle) on PC and PS4 mode on Playstation (this is blue on dongle) which you select with the single button on the dongle. The Command Center software that can be loaded on the PC do not work with the Gen 2 headsets at this time – so some features and observations may change with an update or Command Center programming. The sound is decent but the max volume is on the low side. The sound is acceptable but not as robust as I am used to. There isn’t much isolation from outside sound so this wouldn’t work well in a noisy environment. Spatial sound is adequate. The mic is tinny and hollow sounding. The headset mic auto mutes when you raise it to the up position. The volume button is sensitive and has no stops.

Great Wireless Headset for Xbox One, Easy to Use
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Oh boy, this is the first wireless headset I've used with the Xbox One and it's so easy to use. Just plug the transmitter into a USB port on your Xbox One or PC and turn on the Headset and that's it. Easy to use thumb dial to choose whether you want more game sound or more chat sound, really easy to tune on the fly. The sound is great and there is an EQ button to select various levels of sound, I mostly noticed the setting with a lot of Bass. Teammates had no problem hearing me talking in a normal voice. The mic is of the flip up to mute and is easily adjustable. The headset is very light and the ear cups are BIG. They will go around most ears easily, so no ear pressure for most people and can wear a long time. The adjustment on the bands goes down pretty small, It fits kids, but looks comically big on her average 9-year-old girl's head for reference. These are certified to work on the Xbox Series X/S when it comes out next month. The charge lasts a long time, I have not run it out in four fairly long gaming sessions on Xbox and a shorter one on PC. I really recommend this for its ease of use and simplicity for gaming on Xbox.
