These are an amazing pair of headphones, but my left ear stopped working out of nowhere the second week. I looked online and it seems like I’m the only person that’s had this issue. Besides that the build quality is amazing and I’m sure it’s just a one-off issue. Thankfully I’m getting another pair Thursday.

First let me start off by saying I am using this exclusively for PC gaming, listening to music on my PC and virtual meetings so cannot say how good/bad they are for xbox or PS. I've had these for a month now and am overall disappointed with this headset/amp set up. They are definitely not worth the price, even on sale. These should sell for less than $100, in my opinion. The headset itself feels cheap (lots of plastic that gets very creaky sounding after a month of use. Without the mix amp, the headphones sound awful. With the mix amp you'll need to do a lot of tuning in the eq settings to get them to sound ok/good (but not great). Even the cord feels cheap which is odd. It is not braided and the insulation is very rubbery feeling and is constantly twisting itself up. The microphone however is very good. I have had comments from people on discord and in zoom, etc. saying how good I sound. I also really like the magnetic ear cover plates that you can customize (Astro website) and the option to make these closed back headphones by buying the mod kit. I have not purchased the mod kit so can't comment on it being good or bad. The mix amp seems like good quality and I like the large dials for volume and the ability to turn up Discord or whatever voice chat system you're using independently right at your finger tips. The Dolby surround setting on the mix amp is utter garbage however. Pros: Good microphone. Ability to switch microphone from left to right. Cool customization options from the Astro website. Mix amp volume dials. Mix amp shows when you've muted yourself. Cons: Cheap feeling headset and creaky after a month of use. Cord to the headset is constantly twisting itself up. Sounds terrible without the mix amp and only average with the mix amp.

Very cool headset. Especially the Amp. Only downfall is all the wiring. Sounds is very VERY good.

The setup required an update on the firmware of the amp box. This is if you want to use the amp box via usb from your xseries usb port to the amps output headset jack to the earphones. There is two apps on the computer with windows one that is a standalone install .exe, and the other app directly from MS store for free if you are on windows 10 choose the MS store app. I am on windows 10 and the app via MS store is the only way it initiated auto firmware update notice when the app launched. when i boot the xbox while the amp is first plugged in im experencing a humming static with the volume fainty syndrom. So to fix this i simply unplug the micro usb cord from the back of the amp box and then plug it right back in. Sounds great again. These earmuffs are only 40MM add it with the amp box and it certainly beefs it up quite a bit than without it.
