Good Design, Software Needs Tweaking

The Design of the headphones is very comfortable, the ability to customize the top strap, earcups (covers) and the actual headphone cushion makes for easy repair if needed. custom parts are magnetic in attachment so that makes it very easy and pain free to swap out. The controls on the mixamp are very easy to read and easy to adjust, I love the lighted knobs and the quick access to the equalizer settings and favorite sound profile. Now for the downside; the issue came about during install. The device is not simply plug and play. The headphone aspect worked great but the microphone would not connect. The control software leaves much to be desired as it does not have self diagnostic/help options. The website offers a install video that only works if there are no arising unexpected issues. I contacted their support for help installing and it was a big pain, there needs to be email correspondence and then finally someone will call you. There is no helpline to offer timely help. They are great gaming headphones, I was able to adjust my game volume so that I could hear the crucial gameplay over communication w my team mates. The software needs tweaking an the customer service leaves a lot to be desired but the performance is GREAT!

Surprisingly Low Quality

In order to get them working with the next gen system, I had to update the firmware. The annoying part of this process was that Astro did not mention hard restarting (unplugging) the Xbox in order to get them working post update, and I was close to returning them from the start. My initial impression was that the product felt cheap and low quality, which surprised me given the price. Within 9 months the black coating started to flake off the top part of the headset. The sound and mic quality are solid but nothing unique for this price point. I will personally never buy another pair of Astros.

Hard to set up at first
