Do not get for series x or s. Astro command center is an absolute nightmare, just give it a search youll see. Just avoid this completely.

It doesn’t work with Xbox because you can’t get the firmware update from Logitech.

The sound isn’t great and the set up is even worse. Don’t buy these.

They were nice for the week they worked... had the a50s and used the warranty to get these bc they were out of a50s, after a week when the a40s broke, I still had to pay the warranty and upgrade bc conveniently they were out of the a40s... gotta love that corporate bs

Don’t purchase this thinking you can run it on Xbox right away. It doesn’t work until the firmware is updated. However, Astro has a buggy control center program to update the firmware that doesn’t work, and has had known issues for 2 years. Their tech support will offer solutions like try a different USB cable and/or computer, and that’s about the most advanced their troubleshooting will get. I would expect for $250 that I’d get a product that works with the system it is advertised for right out of the box. If that’s too much to ask then at least have the software fixed to allow for firmware updates to be done. But at this point, purchasing this headset, you are rolling the dice that you’ll be one of the few to get these to work on the Xbox. It’s a shame honestly, I was really excited to get these and thought they were going to be a huge upgrade from my old turtle beach 600’s. Astro just doesn’t seem to care about their customer base and continues to sell a product that they are fully aware doesn’t work as intended. I’d highly suggest any potential buyers look into “Astro a40 firmware update issues” before wasting money on this product, I unfortunately didn’t and it cost me an extra trip to Best Buy to return them.

Had to return it because of a bad cord. Lasted 2 weeks.

Bought headset for brother and did not work. Was not compatible with his Xbox and would not work at all. Called and would not let me return even though it was a Christmas gift. Was out of 15 day window, but I got the headset and waited to give it to him. I have been a long customer at Best Buy and it is sad that they would not help me figure the situation out.

I think this is an average product in 2022. The price is too high for what it is. You can do much better with a DAC and quality headphones.

Mix amp is good. Headphones are meh aswell. I plugged my old tb z60s into the mix amp and that what i was looking for really brings lows to life on the 60mm drivers of the z60

When they say wired, they mean wired to the Xbox itself if you have a series x. Just a old time way of doing it, and for the price it should be wireless. Returned for the model under this that is wired, but o ly to the controller, and cheaper!

Not happy with this purchase. Cannot connect headset to Xbox. Have tried to contact Astro but have not been able to.

The mixamp firmware update always fails, an astros support system is no help besides basic troubleshoot issues

Great sound but problem with connect issue. Every time restart or turn on Xbox need to unplug usb and reconnect. For $300 should not have this problem. Seems like lot of people having problems, please fix.

Says it works for xbox so i got it as a Christmas present for tbe xbox but than it needs in update on the pc for it to even work on xbox!

Not very good as wiring become disconnected very easily making the sound to where u can't understand what the other person says or it cuts in and out only getting half what the other person is saying

Great for the time being only thing I would say make sure you have it in a play where you don’t move the wires much. After a year the wires became loose as expected still an amazing product 5 stars

Waste of money! Would not connect to play on Xbox. Tried to return and they would only give me store credit not back on my credit card. Very unhappy

Setting this thing up is a major pain in the butt but once you get it working it works like one of the best headset you’ll ever use

I loved this headset while it lasted. I would rate a 5 star review easily if my headset did not just stop working. I did not break it the audio simply started cutting out and crackling. I contacted Best Buy support and they told me to trade it in and I was ecstatic as I do love this headset. When I went into the store to trade it in I was turned away as it has been too long since the purchase. This was not a cheap headset to purchase and I have had it for less than 2 years. I bought it October 13th, 2020 and it has stopped working. I have tried contacting Best Buy customer support a second time and again was told to turn it in but when I told them I tried that already I was told, "sorry for the inconvenience." I just want my headset to work properly. I have submitted a request to Astro's support team. Hopefully they can take care of me. If that is the case I will update my review accordingly. Beyond disappointed with Best Buy. I would recommend buying a cheaper headset from a different retailer. Best Buy is no longer reputable in my opinion.
