Updating the headset will break them and make then unusable! Thousands of people are out a lot of money, there’s even talk of a class action law-suit because they won’t fix the problem with there software and update bugs. Mine have been paper weights on my desk for over 2 months now and no one, including Astro has an answer. I even went to Best Buy to tell them and see what I could do and got no help. Then told them they should take it off the shelves so no one else literally lights $300 on fire like I did. So, I wanted a nice headset, so my gf got these for me for my birthday. Sure, they look nice and the base station looks good, but don’t be fooled. They are a pain to set up, always have issues charging on the station, and then their own software literally destroys the programming in the headset and makes them unusable. When they work, they sound fine, nothing insane about them either way. These are Not worth the box they’re packaged in.

I just got back from returning it. Slapping an official Xbox licensing logo on a box is apparently worth 5 stars and $250. This headset is extremely heavy and wired. It's $250 and it's WIRED. All settings reset with every usage and did I mention it's WIRED. Astro gaming is overpriced garbage. There ZERO voice feedback so you have no idea if you are being broadcast without checking the mute button. I could go on and on but the bottom line is this controller does NOTHING to earn 5-stars or the $250 price point.

Personally for me it was a 1 star rating. Nowhere on the box were there disclaimers that you would need a pc to update the headset before you could even think of using it how it should be used on your console. A product should be sold already in its updated/modern state.

Don't Waste your time and money on Astro any longer. They claim the headsets work for next gen consoles but they don't. If you want this to halfway work thruway your mixamp and just plug the headsets into your controller. The mix amp audio is terrible over usb and their solution for hdmi audio extractor will leave you with lower resolution and refresh rate than what you would see without their hackjob for a solution.

Doesn't connect to xbox while using the mixer. Ive teied all of the troubleshooting. Headphones work great. There is now A40 software only A50 which is not compatible to detect this product.

Terrible product. This headset wont even work for my xbox one even tho it says it is compatible. Biggest waste of my money i have ever done.

Ordered the a40 tr fir pick up. Got home and it was missing cables.

Brand new headset worked when using directly from the controller but mix amp doesn't seem to work! Extremely frustrating don't buy the headset with mix amp!!!!

You cant update the firmware to play it on xbox series s/x

Ordered this as a Christmas gift and I received the completely wrong headset in the right box and it was used and cords missing. Very unhappy and embarrassed when the person I bought it for opened the actually headset box.

Mix Amp won't update so unable to be used with Xbox Series X. Worthless.
