Yes, there are headsets that are cheaper and do come close but these can be customized with different EQ settings for the absolute best experience. Best experienced with Dolby Atmos or Windows Sonic on PC.

I bought this item for my boyfriend who loves video games. He was very excited and he loves the sound quality that the headphones provide. It does block out a good amount of noise which is great. I would recommend this product.

Sound quality of the headset is great. But the mic quality isn't great if you're concerned with how you sound to others. The mixamp is much needed for me. I am able to listen to my ps4 and pc at the same time which is awesome.

I purchased these after reading reviews on Astro, and their high rating. The sound quality is excellent! The soft cushioning on the ear pieces is really nice. Having to plug the mixer into the front and back on my PS4 not so nice. I play on a large screen and typically sit 5-6 feet away from the screen. To use these I have to sit closer, and have cords run all over the place. A buddy tripped over the cord and pulled the PS4 off the table The headphones will plug into the controller, but the sound quality is marginable and the mic doesn't work. I think these would be AWESOME if you sat at a desk and played, but they do not cut it in a big room. Back to cheap earbuds

I love the quality and sound of the headset I would say out of the seven headsets I've tried this is the best one on top of the ones that I looked and felt in person the quality in this one just seems to beat all of them.

I compared this set to the HyperX Cloud 2, the Cloud Alpha, the Cloud Revolver S, and Beyerdynamics Custom Game. All of these sets cost less and offer better sound quality. I ended up with the beyers. Comfort: Astros are in my opinion, some of the most comfortable sets around. No major complaints here. There is some clamping force but I think that's fine for new unbroken in headsets. Features: No way the mixamp is worth $130 as part of the package. Don't let people convince you a DAC is somehow going to change your audio quality. It's a simple volume boost and EQ and anybody can tell you the virtual 7.1 is pointless as it's still stereo. Honestly the 7.1 just makes things sound worse. There's no magic here, just marketing. It's nice to have around for input switching but who hasn't figured that out already with some far cheaper solution? Build quality: When i took these out of they package, they felt sturdy. Upon investigation I noticed some areas of serious concern around the metal rod hinges which attach to the headband, one side is metal, the other is plastic. They are attached with screws. This area is under high stress, and this is a big reason why i went with Beyerdynamics, because they use solid aluminum in this spot. Sound: The most important area. I think they tune these so that gunshots are weakened so you can turn your volume up to hear footsteps and not have treble spikes destroy your eardrums. Well it's either that or they sound muffled. In battlefield or PUBG gunshots just didn't crack like they did with the beyers or the clouds. They don't isolate, as they are open backs with cloth pads. I would say if you really hate treble, then maybe these are right for you? I couldn't really get over it, even at max volume a feeling of the sound being muffled a bit. Compatibility: the fact astro doesn't make the mixamp work on both xbox and ps4 is ridiculous. Bottom line: You can do so so much better.

You really get for what you pay for! The sound is amazing and being able to control your sound at ur fingers is awesome. The mic is great your gamer buddies don’t hear your background noice!

Love the headset works great with my system love that it is wired makes for a better gaming expuerence. Also like how you can focus on one part of the game like voice or the actual game audio it self
