Overpriced for the "quality" received
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When I first got this headset, I thought it was the best headset ever. I was mistaken. After about 3 months, the headset will randomly stop working and make a really nasty/loud high pitched beeping sound for no reason. I attempt to shut the adapter off to get it to stop, but once the adapter is back on it just continues to squeak. The only thing that helps it unplugging the adapter and headset then resetting up the headset. Quite annoying if you ask me.

Not the best bang for your buck
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The mix amp that comes with this is basically pointless. The headphones are very comfortable. I just don’t think they’re worth the price.

Not worth it
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I ended up returning it. I’ve had other headsets that are in the same competitive price range and these aren’t the best sound quality.

Best Headset for XB1
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I can't recommend these highly enough. The new MixAmp sounds amazing, and the new headset is somehow even more comfortable than last years. I REALLY like the easily removable ear cups and headband, and though I won't be replacing them with the noise cancelling tournament kit anytime soon, it will be great when I just want fresh new standard ear cups. The absolute best part of the new system is that the need for a chat cable to your controller is over. The new MixAmp runs chat audio through the USB cable that you connect to the XB1. Friends reported that I sounded crystal clear.

Not worth the price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My nephew got these. Hard to get the mixer to work. Head phones are fine, have had cheaper ones that work just as well. Nothing special.

The Best Headset
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After purchasing another headset and not being satisfied, we returned them and purchased two sets of these. I was hesitant because of the price but after thinking about how much money I've wasted and will continue to waste until I found a headset that would hold up, I decided I had nothing to lose. We bought these knowing that if we didn't like them Best Buy would let me return them. Well, let me say that I did not return these and me and my husband both agree that this headset is the best sounding and most comfortable we have ever owned. It was worth the money! Do not listen to reviewers that say you cannot talk on Xbox live with these. You can and I do. You do not need an adapter or to use a daisy chain. Matter of fact, if you use an adapter you will lose sound coming from a controller because your Xbox one is built for you to connect directly to it to get the best sound. So don't be fooled with the headsets that connect to your controller via an adapter. You will have sound quality that is poor. I know because I tried this with another headset prior to my Astro A40 TR headset purchase. Anyways, to setup this headset, We followed directions and watched a YouTube video explaining exactly what to do. You setup and then go into your Xbox one settings and change to Dolby surround and make sure the button on your headset mixer is pushed in and is red. Setup for one headset was about 15 minutes and that included a sound check with Xbox live and talking on your phone through the mixer on the headset. I love that I can plug my iPhone into these! I would recommend this headset to every gamer whether you are casual or pro. Also, there is a Mod kit coming out for these that will help noise cancellation.

Best Headset Money Can Buy
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have tried many different headsets over the years, but this one is by far the best. This is the multi purpose swiss army knife of headsets. From the ability to change sound settings, to being able to just pump all audio and sound into them(great for late night video game sessions). Adjustable and customizable by using mod kits, or by ordering custom speaker tags. I thought the mix-amp and cords would be cumbersome and in the way, but surprisingly they are not. I would have went with the wireless Astro Headset, but I have heard about them losing a charge too quick, and having to plug them into your controller. They are pricey, but worth every penny. I highly recommend.

Disappointed to say the least
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Okay so I was really excited to get this headset. I splurged and bought it after a year of contemplation. Well I tried it for a couple of weeks and it sucks! The sounds settings revert themselves, discord needs to be restarted every time I connect to a server. CSGO sounds settings need to be reset every time I launched the game. Big old pain.

Was not worth the $200 plus
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this for my son after trying several others. We thought this would be the top of the line ($200) and meet all his needs in gaming. We were wrong .... Took it back in less than a week because of distortion and echo problems. Bought him a $20 headset that he loves. Maybe ours was a bad experience.. Just glad Best Buy allowed the return

Not worth what you pay
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For 199 dollars, I'd expect more. You have to be connected to their add on mix pro box via a long cord, to get any audio features. This doesn't even have a real game settings mode. Buy the turtle beach x800s you get blue tooth connectivity, true wireless, built in equalizer and game settings. I did exactly that, returning these

Best Headset Available
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been tempted to purchase Astros in the past but have stayed away. I have been loyal to Turtle Beach for the last few years. I purchased the XO7's at launch and found them to be just Ok for stereo sound. The XO's recently began having problems so I returned them under the Geek Squad Program and purchased these. Onto these A40's...They are simply amazing. No wires going to your controller! All sound and chat is handled through the mixamp and USB to your console. Sounds are clear and crisp, base is strong, and directional hearing is unlike any other headset that I have used. I have had problems with other headsets and glasses. Most of them press against the side of head and give me headache. These A40's do not. The ear cups are like pillows on my melon.

Quality doesn’t equal price paid!
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this for my son’s 14th birthday and he is a kid that really enjoys playing his gaming system, however he thought this headset was the greatest thing to help his experience while playing would be awesome. So me not knowing none of what he and the salesman is talking about I’m excited seeing and knowing my child is. HOWEVER that didn’t last long at all not even a half year I was trying to contact the manufacturer which was a headache trying to get an answer finally did months later they sent out a part that still to this day doesn’t work properly and has ended back on the closet. Money lost! And no one cares.

Epitome of a headset
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted to be able to hear stuff on my computer while hearing my game sound and chatting to my xbox friends. It was easy to set up after I heard how to download Astro Central, the add on from the astrogaming website. You can't use the headset MICROPHONE for PC and Xbox at the same exact time, but it works for both individually. I found a good solution to this is just have your team mates use team speak to chat so the mic would be used on PC. I think the best part of this headset is that it doesn't need to be connected to your controller anymore!!! My batteries last so much longer now that I don't have a headset connected to it. I also have XO Sevens from Turtle Beach and the Astros feel 100000 times better on my ears and the surround sound in Call of Duty is amazing, I can nearly pin point enemies just from hearing where they are in the headset. I would recommend using multiple sources for set up but in the end it's Optic cable & USB to Xbox and 3.5MM cable from the headphone jack on your computer to the headphone jack on your mixamp.
