Better then A40 m80 version/mic problem ppl are ha
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Things you need to do in order for it to work properly on xbox one. Hook it up to your pc first, put the mix amp in pc mode, and download astro command center from their website. There will be a firmware update, once it detects your mixamp download it, then after its done installing you are ready to hook it up on the xbox one (it will work without the firmware update, just the sound, but the mic won't get detected via usb/mixamp until you do the firmware update). Yes, it does work with the new xbox dashboards and the mic will work fine after the firmware update. The Mic is usb, so no more controller attachments. Also the sound quality is 10x better than the A40 m80 mixamp version.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought for my son. He said the headset sounded okay, but his friends kept complaining they couldn't hear him very well. Returned to BB after one day and exchanged for wired version.

Didn't like them
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Didn't even open them. Did not pay attention about the extra device that you had to work with when using them. I did not want that. I just wanted wireless.

Best so far
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First review ever so Ill keep it short and sweet. Keep in mind this is day 1 review and will update after 3 months. Pros: 1.) PC and Xbox both devices recognize the headset as a 7.1 dolby device which is a huge plus! 2.) Amazing sound. 3.) MIC is detachable (plus if you are streaming and using a different table-mic) 4.) very comfortable I get annoyed with the previous mics that are just plastic and squishing my big head. Cons: 1.) price 2.) Volume is low compare to other headsets 3.) Difficult at times to listen to team mates, the game volume is higher than the voice, but luckily this is fixed by the amp.

Amazing Sound & Quality
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I went through five headsets trying to find the best sound and quality and this is by far the best money can buy. The sound is out of this world in both stereo and surround sound mode and the mic is very clear on both ends. It also has mic monitoring or voice feedback labeled as “side tone” and a feature hard to live without once you have used it. Also the ability to customize your sound settings and functions within the mixamp on a PC or Mac is a huge plus and a really nice feature. You can also customize the look of the headset with magnetic speaker tags, ear cups, headbands and a different sound canceling mic with astros mod kits. You are able to use the Xbox version on a ps4 BUT you won’t be able to use chat only sound. You would have to buy the PS4 mixamp separately. I can’t say enough good things about this headset and if your on the fence about spending this kind of money for a gaming headset, well all I can say is you really get what you pay for. Trust me I learned the hard way. Oh and stay far far away from Turtle Beach!

Defective after two years
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Do not buy these headsets if you intend to use them for more than two years. The MixAmp Pro became defective after two years of resonable adult use and when I contact Astro I was told to purchase a replacement and they would not work with me what so ever. So don’t make my mistake and overpay, stick to Turtle Beaches.

Horrible Mic
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had these a year, and I rarely play games with my schedule. Whenever I tried, the mic would have issues and the audio goes in and out. Wish I didn’t spend the $$$

Awesome
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I absolutely love these headphones, I had turtle beach XP400's and I didn't know how much I was missing when it came to sound. The A40 TR headset is beyond anything I have used as a headset. The only thing I had trouble with was downloading the firmware for the mix amp because the link on the website is broken unless you use a certain browser. Overall, it's worth the money, LOVE THESE.

Review from a PRO GAMER HERE
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I tourney game 6 to 14 hours a day. Literally. And i have tried the very expensive and the mid range priced headsets. And this is the best one of them all so far. I've tried wireless. And aside from the Turtle beach Elite 800x Most have low volume and connection issues you have to constantly deal with . I had the 800x for 3 years and aside from minimal connection issues mainly bluetooth. They were the 2nd best. I decided to try wired and my main needs are. LOUD, Surround sound and Ability to plug a 35mm input up to my laptop or mp player to play and hear my music. This Astro a40 covers all of these well. I had my fist pair for a year with no problems then i started having issues with the top connection ports. As they hang and drop out of the mixamp box. I guess over time the bending effects the ports. So i had issues connecting. Had the warranty and grabbed another pair. Now i will place something under the wires to support them from bending down. I hope this works. If you dont mind the wires. This headset is super loud and clear Decent in comfort. Durable. And most important. Works consistently without resets and unplugging and plugging. If you don't mind the price. These are overall very very good and maintain consistant performance and durability.

These things are great!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A50s are garbage they don't hold a charge and I could go on. Go with the a40s with mix amp80 or the a40 TR much better the sound is great you don't have to worry about charging and way more comfortable than the a50s. A40s with mix amp 80 and the a40 tr you can change out the mic and so on and customize it a bit we're you can't with the a50s. I like the a40 tr over the mix amp80 cause of the 7.2 surround sound.

For Pro's only/Avoid if casual
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had the prior A40's for the xbox360 and found them to be the best for xbox360 surround sound. I assumed that this new A40TR would be just as good or better for the xbox one but I was sadly mistaken. The TR stands for "tournament ready" which means you would have to have a group of guys/girls all in the same room with 4 (four) of these A40TR headsets linked together "daisy chained". This is the ONLY way you can hear and speak to your team mates. The A40TR does NOT allow you to speak nor hear people on xbox live!!!! This is because there is no connection to the xbox one controller that dictates the back and forth of voice over the internet. If you are a professional first person shooter (FPS) who travels only to tournaments this headset is designed for you. If you are not a professional FPS player and wish to talk and play over xbox live; like Halo 5, DO NOT buy this headset. The headset you will want is the Halo 5 special edition surround sound A40's with the M80 mixamp which DOES plug into the xbox one voice input on the xbox one controller. This allows you to hear and speak to people on xbox live.

Best Headset Around
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As according to Hardcoregamer down below he does not know how to go through the whole setup nor does he know anything yes you can run this headset without a controller connected when you first update the firmware you plug it into your console while its on so that way it would recognize it
