Amazing build quality, very soft ear pads, clear audio, good price, customizable. I think the average to pro user would really enjoy them.

I’ve been wanting to get a pair of these babies for a good while now and I’m glad I finally got my hands on them. They are super comfy and the sound is fantastic!

Head cushion could be a deal breaker / software

If you dont have a laptop/ desktop to download the app for the headset dont buy this. Battery life is surprisingly great! The cushion from the top of your head will not hold at all, glue it or lose it.

The Astro Gaming A50 seems to be a good headset with impressive battery life. However, it's important to note that the software requirement and potential cushion issues might be drawbacks for some users. If you don't have a laptop or desktop and prefer a headset that doesn't require software, you might want to consider other options.

Solid Headset with a great sound but…

This is a solid headset and once you get the EQ dialed in they sound amazing, but there are still several connectivity issues that need to be resolved via firmware update before I can give 5 stars. When starting up my console I have to unplug and reinsert the USB cord o make sure I get a stable connection. It’s still worth keeping the headset though, I hope they release Ana update soon…

This is my 3rd Astro A50 since about 2015. I love them for the separated game and voice audio and surround sound. This is also the only headset I’ve ever had that didn’t break above the ear cup.

I dont like the price tag, but this version of the headset is much better than the last. The ear cups are way softer the sound is better and the controls are easier to use plus the docking station is an added bonus

    Firmware update nightmare!

Plugged it in to the Xbox and worked without any issues. However, I tried updating the firmware using my Mac and it was nothing but painful. The update failed every time! I wasn’t even able to change any sound settings on the Astro command center (ACC). Every time I plugged in by headset to my Mac and opened the ACC it stated “required firmware update”, it started the update but failed. Apparently this has been an ongoing issue. I’m not sure how this affects my headset but it seems to be working just fine on my XoneX. Sounds amazing! I’m upgrading from aTurtle Beach elite 800x and this A50 sounds far superior! I hope Astrogaming will get their sh** together and fix this problem! This issue hasn’t been resolved since Dec 2019!

Ive had the original gen 1 Astro A50 for about 5 years. The only reason i bought the new version is because my son wanted one so i figured i would hand down my old and buy the new gen. The new gen has a bit better sound quality and the old version is still functioning as the day i purchased. Best quality headset around. Ive had Razr and Turtle Beach headsets and they dont truly compare to this gold standard.

Astro is the way to go! Tried a few different headsets and finally went with Astro A50s. I love the sound quality, the comfort, and most importantly, the ability to hear stuff on pc while playing on Xbox.

I use these on PC and when coupled with the software, I can hear directional footsteps in games with ease. I had the Gen3 A50's and had to upgrade to the Gen4's, worth it!! They are pricey, but worth every penny in my opinion. Here are my settings people can use as a basis to tune to their liking: + Windows 10 - Connections = USB only - Installed and activated Dolby Access app (2 year license in box) - Spatial Sound = Dolby Atmos for Headphones + Dolby Access app for Windows 10 - Selected option = Game - Game settings = Performance Mode set to On + Astro Command Center -EQ Setting = Astro preset (or A50 Mod Kit if you have it) + CoD:MW 2019 - Profile = Home Theater - Master = 100 - Music = 0 - Dialogue = 50 - Effects = 100

I love my a50’s, from the gaming, to the movie, and tv show experience. It has many sound settings, and you can customize through the command center app for even more variation. Using this with my Xbox my mic quality as well as the sound quality is amazing when gaming; but with the different sound modes, movies, tv shows, and even music are all very enjoyable. Highly recommend!

The only issue I have with this headset is at times will have to be disconnected from the power source because it won’t connect to the Xbox. It’s comfortable and a bit pricey but worth it.

I wanted to love this headset and let’s just say I only like it. The build quality of this is amazing and I love the charging stand. However, the headset squeezed my head for the first 12 hours I used it until it formed to my head and while it’s better, it still feels tight. My biggest complaint is when this is plugged in to my Xbox, I have to unplug and re-plug in the usb cable to my Xbox every time you turn my Xbox on to get it to register with my Xbox. This is an issue I’ve noticed with both the A50’s and A40’s. Astro said they were working on an update but this has been an issue for awhile now. One minor complaint is that only Astro sells the mod kit for this version of the A50 right now and they’re always out of stock. I had to buy the mod kit off Mercari. However, the mod kit is amazing. Overall I like this headset a lot and the aesthetics it has. If you have a big head like me though, the A40 might be more suitable. I have no issues with tightness on that headset.

Great Headset but customer service is terrible

I have these for the Xbox. First these are really great headphones. Better built than previous A50’s and great sound with full wireless. These are the best fully wireless for Xbox ( I believe the Steelseries Arctic Pro is the best but on Xbox you need a wire for chat). So why 3 stars, the firmware available now messes it up. Now as mentioned In other reviews you can plug it straight in and skip the firmware for now but if you are like me one of the best things about Astro’s is being able to adjust the presets. Personally after owning the gen 3 for several years I think the out of box presets are terrible. So the biggest problem is first this is a $300 headset and worth the money but if the firmware messes up your product you should be working night and day to fix it. However after reaching out to them via discord and other routes I have yet to receive a response. I was hoping after Logitech bought them they would improve in CS like they did with build quality but so far no.

The build quality of the head phones is great, however, there’s one specific issue with a big batch of these. There’s either a buzzing noise or a high pitched noise that rings in the left headphone whenever you turn the unit on. Apparently it isn’t in each set of headphones but a majority of them. It may not bother some people but it was unbearable to me. Returned them and then bought the Gen 5, and no issue so far.

Really good sound quality and the bluetooth works well. Also comes with a Dolby Atmos subscription so you can have even more sound customization. One drawback is the headband, the foam pad in the middle doesn't hold together so I had to tape it order to keep them from falling off my head.
