Customers are saying

Customers value the A50 Gen 4 Wireless Gaming Headset's superior sound quality and comfortable design, frequently praising its long battery life and wireless convenience. However, some users express concerns regarding the headset's high price and occasional connection problems. A few also mention issues with the headband's durability. Overall, the positive feedback on audio and comfort is prominent, but potential buyers should consider the cost and reported connectivity challenges.

The Astro A50’s are one of the most popular gaming headsets and for a reason. They do not disappoint from the moment you get them out the box, setting them up might by tricky for new gamers but a simple YouTube tutorial will instantly make it better.

The sound quality is so mid it’s unbelievable. I used a pair of steelseries arctic 3 which is a fairly cheap headset and going to these I thought it was going to be a massive upgrade but sadly it was more of a downgrade. Base station doesn’t always connect so ur sitting there waiting 5-10 minutes for it to connect overall 0 out of 10 this model of the gen 4 is nearly 4 years old and it’s age shows especially on next gen. Either pick something else or wait for gen 5 the a50s badly need a refresh I will be returning.

Top piece breaks easily and not comfortable

The sound is amazing but only after I purchased some 3rd party leather cushions for it. For something being 300, you would expect some extra ones to be provided and for it not to break so easily. The top part of it has this cushion piece that doesn’t stay in place and I found online that many people had the same issue. That’s the most important piece for comfortability because without that cushion, the top of your head will start hurting after maybe an hour of use.

I've had these just over two years, and the battery has failed. They won't charge, and are only usable when plugged in. Also, around a year ago, the headband insert started popping out nonstop, and has been an annoying nightmare since. Oh, and the desktop software from the Microsoft Store is glitchy, rendering these "bricked" multiple times from updates, requiring multiple hard resets to fix. Don't waste your hard earned money on these, and go with something else. The dock is the reason I bought them, but they simply are not worth it to die in 2 years time.

The Astro A50 sounds like a good fit! No LED indicator for Dolby on/off, but some models might have audio cues or software indicators. You can also try listening to tell the difference by ear.

Ive been a huge astro fan since xbox 360 days. For the money I am actually disappointed in the sound and build quality. Quite heavy on the head after only about an hour of use I have to take them off. I wouldnt recommend for the price I paid. Sub 150 would be a better deal.

I bought these for $300+ and I would not recommend these. The sound is good but when you turn the xbox off they do not connect and wont charge. Every time i want to play rainbow six i have to unplug it and plug it back in just so it can connect is supper annoying. Right now im having problems where is not connecting at all and im looing for new headsets.

Best headset I’ve owned for gaming. I’ve personally used turtles, and Arctis; all wireless. Albeit expensive, I really like the ease of use for the Astros. Super simple to manage the headset settings and updates through the app on Xbox.

This was the first pair of Astros I have tried, and they are a massively overprice disappointment. The battery life of 18 hours was a negative but I figured the base makes it easy to keep them charged, I was wrong. When the PS5 is off, the base will not charge them, even though the USB's have constant power. I was not impressed with the sound quality at first and after some research, I found out that you need to connect the optical audio cable to you TV or they won't function properly, apparently USB audio isn't enough for these. They are bulky and my ears would get hot after 15-20 minutes, despite the ability to save three EQ presets they aren't worth even half the cost of $300.
