Not worth the hassle

This headset worked fine for the first free months that I had it. I game on an x box and noticed that I stopped being able to hear my party chat. I’ve went through several hard resets with the device and updated the firmware and Settings in the control center and Im still not able to hear the party chat.

But then, once every couple of months, for no reason, it refuses to turn off when on the base station. This slows the charging to a crawl and makes what charge you do see on the base station and on the Astro Command Center unreliable. My headset will go from 85% charge to %1% charge (yes, that's what it shows) instantly when it's like that. Sometimes it only lasts for a few hours or days; other times, it lasts for over a week. So while I think the headset itself is fine, the fact that the headset can randomly decide not to function properly means you should probably get something else.

But by god are these things worthless. Out of the box there was buzzing in the left ear speaker whenever the mic was activated which after 20 minutes is headache inducing, the louder the volume the louder the buzzing. NEVER TO LEAVE YOUR EARDRUM. I just ate this unwanted feature like a punch to the side of my head, but then it happened… they just stopped charging. And im not talking about the worthless charging stand you place it on, I mean the thing just simply wont work. Im appalled bc I loved astro so much. Thought about returning them to get my $150 back but I think I would find more satisfaction in spiking them in my driveway and letting them snow over. Oh! Whats that I see? A pair of steel series ooooooo

Not sure if i got A bad one or what but the sound quality is no where near the A40’s. I bought Them for the wireless capability and expected the same quality of sound but was disappointed. I did End up returning but for what they’re meant for and the look is amazing. Just wish the sound quality was there.

For some reason when you first install to your PC the sidetone is turned all the way up. For the price, I should not have to 3D print a part, or manipulate the headband so that the pad doesn't pop out. Since purchase, the pad in the headband dislodges and is absolutely infuriating to deal with.
