THE BREAKDOWN: Let me start by saying these are nothing short of quality and comfort in one package. I have used them for a few weeks now on my PC/Laptop and XBox and I feel that they are very very nice. Not quite perfect, but close. The packaging was very well done. It was like opening an expensive gift at Christmas. In the box was everything needed to get this product up and running. The base station is very well built and solid. One of the downfalls with this unit for me is the size of the base station. I feel it should be smaller and was kind of a pain to have that USB and basestation attached when playing/watching movies on my laptop. The sound quality was very good. The chat was crystal clear and was easy to adjust. This is something you come to expect from Astro. One downside for me was the ability to high volumes. I tried several different setting to get the sound to be loud and the closest I came was a preset sound profile I found online. The range of this set is very good, I have a 3 level home with over 3000 square feet of living space and I have been everywhere and haven’t dropped the sound. This is the best I have ever tested as far as range goes. The battery life was really good and rated for 15 hours. I haven’t played 15 hours straight but have put them to the test for a few weeks now and found them to be very close to what they claim. I just put them back on the magnetic base station when I’m done. The magnetic base station is a great feature and really helps to seat the headphones to charge them. One thing about the battery level indicator is that it always stated 1% even though they were fully charged. I was hoping that the new update would fix that but hasn’t for me as of yet. PRO’s: -Very well built and stylish -Setup was not that bad -15 Hour Battery Life -Adjustable EQ through software -Excellent Range -Auto Shut Off -Great sound profiles -Mic is Crystal Clear -Love the flip up mic to mute CON’s: -Very pricey -Sound doesn’t get super loud -The battery level always stated 1% -Base station is large SUMMARY: Overall, I feel that this product is really good and has a great fit and finish. I like all the features but I think the base station is really large and that makes it hard to be portable or use with laptop. I would definitely recommend this to a friend if they are in the market for something like this.

honestly, not worth $300. you must have the OA PLUGGED IN AT ALL TIMES or it will create static sounds within the headset. hated that.

The absolute worst. I’ve had equal quality with headset $200 cheaper. But if you want a headset that won’t connect to your party chat at random and you have to hard reset your system 10 times to get it to work then this is the headset for you. Honestly the worst purchase I’ve ever made from Best Buy.

The plastic on the headphone feels nice and well made. When I wear for a long time, I don’t get fatigued which is more important when gaming because typical gaming hours are 2-3 hours. SETUP The headset is having magnetic spots which makes sure that the headset can dock right off once you place it on the base When you put the headset on the basestation, the pairing begins and the headset will start charging. The blinking button on the base station will indicate that the headset Is pairing and there is an amber light on the headphone to indicate that the headphone is charging. I made sure that my headset is having the latest firmware by updating it through a PC. The setup is fairly easy for both PC and PS4. The cables that are provided (optical and USB) can be connected to the PS4. PS4 will recognize this connection as a astro AS50. Make sure to select the toggle switch to PS4. You just need to make sure that the audio device setup for input and output as Astro A50 and the port is appropriately selected as optical port. Setup on PC is even easier. You just need to connect the astro A50 to the PC using the USB cable. No need to connect the optical cable. You will get dolby surround through the USB port. USAGE I used the headphones with my computer first. I did not test the headphones with any game on my PC but I was using it for my conference calls when working from home. I used Skype for calling out and the Mic and headphones were very clear. The Mic turns on when you lower your mic and it turn off when it is in an up upward direction. I also listened to some of the youtube videos, the sound quality is fantastic. These are not boss heavy headsets but that’s not what I want. The sound is very balanced with crisp highs and balanced mids and lows. Next, I connected the headphones to my PS4. I played Call of Duty and Forza Horizon games on my PS4 and the effect with dolby was phenomenal. I like the fact that I can play the games ate night and at a good volume without disturbing anyone in the house. I like the fact that the volume control is available on the headphone. The headphone also has a audible tone on the battery indicator when it drops to 10% or less. Overall I think this is a great purchase.

Be sure to buy an extended warranty from BestBuy. The base station stopped working after less than three months. I contacted Astro Gaming's customer service and they agreed to send me a new base station. A month later the new one arrived but it was for the Playstation headset, not Xbox. I contacted customer service again and they acknowledged a shipping issue. That was in August 2020 and it was the last time I heard from them. I have sent many follow up emails, but no responses received. When I pay for a premium product, I expect a lot more from the manufacturer.

Xbox players we warned, I am experiencing very unpleasant glitches recently. First, chat mixer does not work. I am stuck hearing people’s voice chat volume on a high setting that can’t be lowered. Second, it does not maintain wireless connection. After 5 mins, it disconnects from base station. Will reach out to support and update if I hear back.

Bass can be very immersive. Great for shooters. The sound stage soinds hollow and echoy when digital surround is on. Arctis products have superior quality to this.

An amazing headset!!! Honestly it is not one I would recommend for a child as the price point is too great, you get the same quality with Turtle Beach Stealth line of headsets.
