RUN AWAY FROM GEN 4’s and GEEK SQUAD PROTECTION

Generation 1-2 have been great, however; gen 3 only lasted for a year at best before losing sound quality and battery life, but as long as you have geek squad protection then it wasn’t an issue. Unfortunately, this has led me to return and repurchase these headsets at least 15-20 times since 2012. Fast forward to today, I’ve had 2 pair with 2020 in the last 4 months. The Gen 4 set I just purchased about 3 weeks ago drops sound quality so much that my friends complain every few mins. Sound cuts out all the time. Now as of yesterday, the headset will not power off, even when I unplugged the base station. I’ve tried a hard reset, now they won’t power on. It’s a waste of money, please do not buy. On top of my last pair not working 2 months ago bestbuy charged me over $130 to put protection on this headset. Not to mention that my gen 3 headset was only 2-3months old. If you want astros stick with A40s or just buy gen 1-2. Honestly I’d stick with PlayStation golds, or Turtle beach headsets, because you can purchase at least 2 pairs for the price of Astros, then you would have a back up pair.
