A Winner for PC
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been using a pair of Sony WH-1000XM3 for the last year as my gaming headset as I already had them and my desktop has bluetooth capability. While they served their purpose it didn't always work out smoothly. Often times I would just lose sound in the middle of a game for no apparent reason. Sometimes people on the other end could no longer hear me and I could only assume the mic stopped working. Most of this I attribute to bluetooth and the fact that the Sony's weren't really intended for the task I was using them for. In comes the Astro A50+ and what a difference it has made. Across the board the A50+ has increased my gaming quality of life. Right off the bat the sound is pretty much on par with the Sony's minus the noise cancelling capability which I don't consider a negative in any way. The A50+ also comes with Dolby Atmos for Headphones which brings positional audio to mix. Overall, it works pretty well and is a nice plus to the package. The Astro A50+ is also very tune-able via their software controls. Complete EQ adjustment along with mic controls really help to refine the A50+ to ones taste. The software also gives you a battery indicator and the charging base has one as well. Battery life has been very good and easily gets me through a day of gaming. The charging base makes it very easy to drop the headphones on each evening and have them ready to go the next day. That said, if you do forget to charge them they do not appear to have an auto-off feature so they will slowly drain themselves. Seems like this could be rectified via firmware, but I have seen no mention of such a feature. The overall build quality is outstanding and the headphones are lightweight and comfortable over extended periods. The range is also quite good, but for most PC gamers range probably isn't an issue anyways unless you are using it on a TV from a distance. The only real downside I could see for some gamers is the lack of RGB bling. I don't consider this a negative at all, but my son for instance wasn't impressed that they didn't have any RGB lighting. Yes, these might seem a tad expensive, but Astro really is the Rolls-Royce of gaming headsets. If you are looking for the best wireless gaming headset for PC gaming look no further.

DO NOT BUY
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. One of the most expensive garbage headsets that you can purchase! It’ll never connect to your Xbox and when it does the mic will show it’s not working and then the headset will just stop working. DO NOT BUY

Overpriced and overrated
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Garbage headset doesn’t sync to the base station Astro command center fails to update the firmware and even when fixed the audio from the head phones bleeds into the mic regardless of the volume!

Pro-Player greatness
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I must openly state that I am a converted Astro's fanboy (I used to use only Turtle Beaches but have and have used many brands) and was SOOOOO excited to get to test these out. Upon receiving, I marveled at the presentation the A50 make when placed in the base station. I have wanted a pair since I was a young man but, I might be to frugal to buy such an extravagance. However, after having theses on and experiencing the pure Dolby sound quality I truly understand that I was just being naive. My summary statement is explained as such and as simple as this… These are beautiful and superbly crafted headphones that deliver immersive sound for whatever media you are using them for. I downloaded the Astro Mix Amp app for Xbox and Windows 10. The options are a bit mind boggling for the uninitiated. However, thanks to YouTube and some friendly How To's I found, I was able to tweak the three available presets to my gaming needs. Hence the summary statement Pro-player greatness, the amp opens a world that your bottom shelf headphones will Never provide. That said, I would like to see an update that allows in game adjusting (Please Logitech!). I actually really enjoy the comfort of the cloth as well but do find myself probably overusing the cleaning wipes on them. At this price point I would have rather had leather because leather is easier to keep clean and sanitized. The battery life is quite long and a person who plays a lot of videogames and watches as much TV, I basically live with these things on and rarely do I have to make time to charge them (under the assumption that you regularly charge them after each use). My only complaint and it is a legit complaint, the mic mute feature and right ear panel button. The mic mute is suspect, Most of the time it works flawlessly but other times it takes a couple of tries. Next, the side flat panel right ear button is annoying. I hit all the time and must spend a couple of seconds finding my sweet spot again. At this price point, these are undiscerning quality but manageable and may just be user errors. I would recommend these headphones to anyone who wants to take their gameplay to the max level.

Poor quality

23 years in and these headphones are still amazing
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My wife bought me a pair of A50s for our third anniversary 23 years ago and I'm still using them today. 5.1 surround sound incredibly good sound and extremely comfortable to wear you really forget you're wearing them and they're loud enough to make your ears bleed if that's what you want. The charging is actually mini USB on mine since they're so old but the battery still last 10 to 12 hours and with a long cable you can have them charging while you're wearing them no problem. If the quality and sound is anywhere near what it was when mine were made they should last almost forever. Mine have optical in and out, mini headphone jack, and the headphones themselves have a micro jack for like hooking up to Xbox. The sound is truly amazing The problem I have with most modern headphones is they just aren't loud enough, that will never be a problem with these.

||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I use an Xbox One X. Not worth $300+
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The worst purchase I ever made! These stop working after 3 weeks. They keep disconnecting and constantly beep until they are turned off. Best Buy return policy is the worst! 2 weeks!! That’s ridiculous!
