I use an Xbox One X. They only have instructions for the original Xbox One. The sound is horrible. People online have problems understanding me. And customer service is useless. I am returning them.

There is a little plastic piece on the top of the head for padding. That has fallen off (can’t reattach) and Astro doesn’t help at all.

A slight upgrade from Gen 3

    Posted .

The Gen 4 A50 is lighter in weight, more flexible, and therefore more comfortable than previous models. The base station is finally fixed and is easier to dock the headset to get it to charge, on the first try. MY biggest issue w/ the previous Gen 3's were that they would cut in and out.. ASTRO knew about the issue with their 5ghz connection being interfered with, so they switched to 2.4 and I haven't had a single sound drop yet. As for sound, these are still at the top of the market both in price and quality. They really do have a crisp sound. I haven't found any major differences in sound from previous generations, so it is still the same ASTRO sound (which is not a bad thing). The one thing I did notice is that these have less bass than the Gen 3's that were booming. OVERALL: A great headset that fixed a few annoying issues from previous generations. Not a major upgrade from Gen 3, but a major upgrade for anyone who has not owned an ASTRO headset before.

The worst purchase I ever made! These stop working after 3 weeks. They keep disconnecting and constantly beep until they are turned off. Best Buy return policy is the worst! 2 weeks!! That’s ridiculous!

23 years in and these headphones are still amazing

My wife bought me a pair of A50s for our third anniversary 23 years ago and I'm still using them today. 5.1 surround sound incredibly good sound and extremely comfortable to wear you really forget you're wearing them and they're loud enough to make your ears bleed if that's what you want. The charging is actually mini USB on mine since they're so old but the battery still last 10 to 12 hours and with a long cable you can have them charging while you're wearing them no problem. If the quality and sound is anywhere near what it was when mine were made they should last almost forever. Mine have optical in and out, mini headphone jack, and the headphones themselves have a micro jack for like hooking up to Xbox. The sound is truly amazing The problem I have with most modern headphones is they just aren't loud enough, that will never be a problem with these.

This headset is the best one I’ve used so far. I’ve owned Turtle Beaches, Steel Series, and Razers. I like these the most. 1) The build. It uses high quality metal adjusters that don't squeeze too inward when on your head. So it makes them a confortable fit. Along with the soft cushions. Although they should add the leather ones with the headset, the leather ones add more sound blockage and create a more surround feel, they are less comfy and get hot. The stock ones do not. But they are by far the most comfortable headset. 2) The sound is AMAZING. I hear everything in game. Absolutely recommend this headset just based off the sound and thats saying something considering these are 300 dollars. 3) The connectivity with the charging base is fine. It functions for me just like it should and charges just fine. Using a PC you can customize your headset with the base station. Very nice additions. Makes it worth it for me and gives me all I can ask for when it comes to convenience for gaming. The only reason I would not recommend is the price. Bit if your looking for the best experience for gaming, then these are for you. Luxury usually comes with a price and these prove that point. But if you have the cash, and are willing to buy these, based on my experience, they will not dissapoint.

I like playing games on both the Xbox and PC. So for the past month, I have been testing the Astro Wireless RF, A50 headphones. In the box you get the headphones, a base station, a 3 ft micro USB cable and a 3 ft Optical cable. My initial impression after I took it out the box is that these are definitely premium headphones. The headphones were light, sturdy and had some super soft and comfortable microfiber ear cups. Set up was easy. I started by charging the headphones, plugging the micro USB into the base station and computer then pressing the button on the base station that says PC/Xbox. (If the base station is not set to PC the computer will not see the Headphones) There is also Command Center software that you can download on Astros website that allow you to tune the sound of the headphones and store the different sound profiles on the headphones. **Make sure you use download this software because it is the key to unlocking the full potential of these headphones. If you are playing on an Xbox you will need to connect both the USB and the optical cable into your Xbox then press the button for Xbox on the base station. All the sound profiles you created on the PC will still be available. When using the headphones, with or without the Dolby Atmos, they sounded absolutely amazing! You will definitely notice every detail in the sounds and they will be coming from multiple directions. There were a few times when I couldn't tell if the sounds were coming from the headphones or something happening inside my house. The built in Boon microphone also sounded great. It was so good I had friends asking "what are you using to make the sound so clear." The battery is also great, I was able to play for 6 hours and they did not go below 50%. With all that being said, these are the absolutely best headphones I ever used.
