    Think twice before getting them!

I started my research like everyone when you want to treat yourself with a new headset right? So, after I did my decision on Astro A50 Wireless for PS4, I placed my order on their website on July 21,2020. I received them Aug 4, 2020. One month after by September 06, 2020. I placed my first email for warranty because the started not working properly, the game volume just went down by itself. First there is no customer service via phone where you can call and speak with someone to do things faster, everything is done by email! 4 days after got an answer with some steps to do with the headset and you need to take pics and vids with proof, so after that was done, it took again 4-5 days for a new answer, They asked me for proof of purchase that I did on their website and I was just asked to send an screenshot and my info, 3 days after they told me that I was supposed to receive in 9 to 10 days a shipping confirmation for a headset replacement (this was in Sept 18), I reach out again October 05, just go an email saying that they were busy taking care of some system updates that they will keep me posted by next week. I do not want the headset anymore it has been sitting in my desk useless for almost two months. Until TODAY have not got my replacement. THIS IS THE LAST TIME THAT I BUY FROM ASTRO, SO IF YOU CAN CHOOSE ANOTHER BRAND, THEY OFFER FASTER & BETTER CUSTOMER SERVICE. BIG PRICE TAG SHOULD COME WITH BIG CUSTOMER SERVICE.

Good while it lasted. Ability to hold mic in any position except bottom broke within first 6 months. Turn of firmware issues early on where I would have to unplug and reconnect base for it to work. Base station stopped working after 2 years. Only a year warranty on a $300 headset is a joke. A lot of people having issues with this headset.

    Great audio, when they're working.

Do you like flashing lights and broken garbage? A headset that spends more time RMAing than functioning? This is the piece of garbage for you. I'm soo close to just chucking these out of the window. Pros: Great audio Cons: Always broken. Always a pain in my butt. Always "requiring" a firmware update that completely breaks them.

Trash headsets, mine keeps messing up and the update didn't go anything to help. It's a known issue and they still haven't fixed it. Go with a different brand, i wish i did. Paid a premium price for something that started to mess up immediately. Go with a cheaper priced option that has a better reputation and quality and actually tries to fix their errors.

ive had this heads for a little over two years, its a great product but it has many issues with connecting and faulty firmware updates. For the hefty price tag of $300.00 we should not be having this many issues. As well as the customer support is negligent.

    Terrible Headset

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Still has popping and static interference of sound even in the 2.4 GHz bandwidth, randomly disconnects from PC/PS4, requiring a USB disconnect to reset base station and headset, a complete waste of money, I finally threw mine against the wall out of frustration. Both Gen3 and Gen 4's have been terrible headsets, I have both, and both suck.

This headset is perfectly described as a glass cannon, awesome sound quality but will shatter if dropped from nearly any height. Personally i wouldnt waste my time unless you really like filling out insurance claims.

These headphones are the definition of garbage. For one, the mic sounds worse than the 50 dollar turtle beach headphones I had. Everyone always thinks I'm wearing a walmart mic. Second, the head set crackles all the time after turning on the xbox. The only fix is to get up and unplug the base for a few seconds then replug it in. Third, the little center piece on top that the cushion is attached to is held in by tiny little plastic detents that just pop out CONSTANTLY if you move at all. This started happening after about 4 months of moderate use. You're basically pay 300 dollars for the audio equalizer which is cool and definitely helps with hearing foot steps and what not, but that is literally the ONLY good thing about the headphones. My turtle beaches are even more comfortable. I would highly recommend avoiding these and just sticking to whatever headphones you have since they're probably better and not nearly expensive.

Tech that is only wireless is not a good option

While these headphones are decent there are better out there in terms of quality and usability such as the Steeleries Nova Pro that allow for wireless usage with no hindrance of having to make sure the battery is charched with it’s “infinite power system” that comes with 2 batteries and a 3.5mm to 3.5mm jack for full wired usage. To me it seems that many people fail to do a decent ammount of research on what kind of tech they’re buying especially when its in the hundreds of dollars range and while the Nova Pros are newer than the A50’s there still are cheaper and better options out there can will make you happier than anything Astros can do.

Don't waste your money. The drivers are a mess and are no longer updated by Logitech and the firmware is known to have bugs that brick headsets and Logitech refuses to acknowledge this. There is active sound suppression that can not be turned off even with the astro software. In a completely silent room I come through choppy. The replaceable cushion at the top of the headset pops out with no pressure and had to be glued in. Not at all satisfied with the value I got for the $250 price tag.

Astro does not release finished products

This headset needs a update out of the box. This cannot be done over the Xbox you need windows 10 or mac. This update is supposed to fix boom mike problem. Instead this update does not fix this problem and it also makes you unplug the base station from the Xbox Evey time you turn on the Xbox. Contact Astro by email because they will not talk to you on the phone. They offer to send the original software, they know the new ones broke....... So they tell me to update to the new soft wear that they know is broke,......... I ask them so when do we get the fix? Answer no eta. No help no phone call. This thing is 300 plus 40 for leather upgrade. For a head set. Not happy. By the way tried to go in on day 20 to just exchange for the same thing at best buy see if it's that headset told that I lose my 80$ insurance if I do because I am over the 15 day return policy. What crap.

For the product it’s amazing. When using it extremely seamless with software. But on multiple locations after taking fantastic care of the product. After a Year to 18 months. The product just dies and I need to return it and either have a warranty or need to buy a completely different item.

Aesthetics side, nice headset. Comfortable, decent controls. Hardware & software side... Terrible. Sound is flat. Base station freezes anytime the xbox is turned on so you have to unplug the base station every time.

Hello TimW! We're sorry to hear you've had issues with your A50 Wireless Dolby Atmos Over-the-Ear Gaming Headset with Base Station. If you haven't done so already already, I would suggest downloading the Astro Command Center software, which will allow you to update the firmware of both your Headset and the Base Station. This should definitely help in solving the freezing issues you're experiencing. Here's the link: https://www.astrogaming.com/en-ca/support/software.html. At Logitech, we strive to make sure our customers always have a great experience with the products & services we make, so we definitely appreciate your feedback. Thanks! - Mathieu from Logitech
