Customers are saying

Customers regard the A50 Wireless Headset's sound quality, comfort, and battery life as its strongest features, with many praising the immersive audio experience and long-lasting power. However, some users experienced connection issues and noted the relatively high price point. The wireless functionality was also a plus for many, although a few mentioned limitations in range. While some found the fit comfortable, others commented on the headset's weight.

I am on my 3rd headset for my PS4 and thought I would go top of the line this time to stop having to get new ones. Do not make my mistake and stay away from this product. Sound cuts out completely periodicly. Chat goes "robo-voice" when muted and unmuted at times and the range is the worst of the 3 sets I have tried. I sit 2 feet from the base and still have issues. I was dumb and threw away the box or I would have returned it. Please do not give this company your money. 2 stars since sound is great when it does not stop working for a few seconds at a time.

I owned prior generation of these A50's. This new generation is cheap in feel but expensive in price. The sound quality is fairly underwhelming, the mic is terrible and picks up a ceiling fan 12 feet away on low but barely registers your voice until you crank up the settings on high, and the dolby button/presets are terrible. The charge on these during the first week lasted 8-10 hours. After the first week the charge went down to 5-6 hours and now around 4 hours you need to charge again. Pretty poor execution of a $250.00 headset. Save your money and buy a different headset or pair up a really nice set of headphones with an after market mic.

Not worth $300.. These headsets will cut out.. They will interfere with your 5.0ghz wifi network. THey recommend you dont' use channels 149 and above. Robot voice will also have.. you need to turn off the headset and back on to resolve the issue.

It was great to start, however a year later and the base to charge wouldnt do it anymore, because the prongs wouldnt stick out of the hole.

    Amazing headset

First I just wanna say that the packaging is amazing, I've had the A40's as well and Astro is known for their packaging. This is a "Gaming Headset", I've used the ATH-700 and the M50X and IMO they just aren't for gaming. Don't get me wrong they sound good but from my experience with Astro's they(Astro's) sound the best for gaming. At first I was very hesitant to get another pair of Astro's, mainly because the "Wireless" situation. I can say I was very surprised, at first glance they just didn't look comfortable at all. I can assure you that this headset is very comfortable even hours of use. I wear glasses and there was no fatigue that I was feeling when playing on PC. I got the Xbox version because the Xbox One X is coming out but I mainly game on PC. The range on these could be better but you get what you get, they're wireless and I for one expect drop outs or it sometimes completely going out, that hasn't happened to me yet but I'm sure it will. Now I did get a bit of interference when I got up to go to the kitchen, I could still hear everything on Resident Evil 7 but I was getting a static interference the further I got from it. These sound amazing, I was able to locate many players while playing PUBG, foot steps are clear and I could tell when someone was in a house with me or even nearby. Even gunshots sound so much better on this headset, I was amazed at the sound but I really like it. When firing your weapon it sounds as if you're actually shooting a weapon up close. You get that loud noise and I could still find where footsteps were coming from because I had enemy players all around me. This was all with Dolby 7.1 on. So the directional soundstage is very pleasing. The charge cradle is pretty easy to use, just line the headset up with the prongs and a magnet will pull them in and keep them there until your next use. The battery life is pretty good on these, that won't be an issue even with long sessions. I got 14 hours from one full charge and that included me setting them down which when you set these down they turn off after 15-20 seconds of no use. The mic is okay, they didn't really focus on the Mic quality at all but it is still good enough for gaming. I know not many people like the quality of the mic but it's just for gaming, not recording or anything like that. Which I didn't expect it to sound like an AT2020, so I wasn't very surprised with the quality. I will update after a month. All I can say is if you're a true gamer or even a beginner and want a good wireless headset, then I'd get these. Some might find issues with them but I can honestly say this is my favorite headset for gaming. Just make sure when you buy them to register both the cradle and the headset serial numbers and download the software to update the firmware.

The mic was way below standard. For Xbox you sound like a robot while talking in party chat. However the surround sound was the best I've experienced for a headset.

Amazing sound when its working but for 300 bucks it should not lose the sound for a few seconds. Its the 2nd one in a row to do it, both A50.

Just trash, straight up trash for the cost. Just look away, get something a little cheaper. I promise you, you won't regret it. First off, it is NOT, once again, NOT, a Type C charger. Anything that cost 300 bucks today should have one. I've seen trash phones for 30 bucks have Type C charging. Second, if you wanna stream, this will be an incredibly annoying headset to deal with. Requires you to do a lot of homework setting up if streaming with an El Gato or anything like that. Third, what brought me to this review. Is build quality. All around, big big poo. Feels like plastic, weighs like plastic, almost feels like Turtle Beach with the Astro logo. The pins on the charging board broke off. So I resorted to using the microUSB charger, and the pins flattened on the charging cord that came with the headset, so they just fall off and never stick. I should NOT be dealing with this not even a year out from my purchase on 300 buck headphones. I have Corsairs that I have been using for years, and not a dent or scratch, or issue. And that cost me less than 60 bucks. Please, don't let these "pro" gaming headsets fool YOU.
