Customers are saying

Customers regard the A50 Wireless Headset's sound quality, comfort, and battery life as its strongest features, with many praising the immersive audio experience and long-lasting power. However, some users experienced connection issues and noted the relatively high price point. The wireless functionality was also a plus for many, although a few mentioned limitations in range. While some found the fit comfortable, others commented on the headset's weight.

I have only had these 6 months and they will no longer charge at all and the kicker is I barely would use them maybe once or twice a week. Also, they were nothing but trouble since I got them disconnecting every like 5 10 seconds when I'd use them would get old fast when trying to play games like PUBG and Siege.

    The base

So the base does not charge the headphones really good... you constantly need to keep it plug in to what you are working with (ps4 or pc) to make it work. I have my pc upstairs and ps4 downstairs so I have to bring the base up or down to work it “wirelessly” I wish I can get my money back. Quality and everything is good....

I have the headphones for a little bit over a year. I started having problems, I gave them a call and ask him if they could prepare them at my expense. They said there was absolutely nothing they could do and gave me a $20 off coupon to buy a new pair. I paid over $400 for these headphones and they can't even fix them. I'll never buy from them again

Even thogh this headset is pricey we were excited to purchase them after reading all thr great reviews. Guess what the ps4 we have doesn't have the port for these and yiu have to buy other parts for the tv to connect them. No where on the box did it mention this. Useless. Took back purchased a another headset that was cheaper and they are awesome

    Issues Constantly

Couldn't edit my last submission so have to put through a new one. This headset has had issues left and right multiple times per week and now an issue where it won't even charge on the base station. I tried contacting Best Buy to get help and all they tell me since I am two weeks past the return period to take it to a store and see if they will make an exception (which isn't possible for me). I also tried contacting the manufacturer (no phone number, only form to fill out on website) and have not gotten a response. Been an Elite member for years and can't get any help. Best Buy has lost my business and so has Astro unless they come up with a miracle.

Be aware buyers! This expensive piece of headphones, even though comfortable and sounds decent, the audio cutting out every few minutes gets really really annoying. Apparently there is no firmware update out there that will fix it and the support gives you now help!

Bought them hoping for the best, really wanting something better than turtle beach that I have that pop loud and really wasn't worth the investment. But these wouldn't work, called geek squad and we tried several things and couldn't even get sound out of them. Was really wanting to have wireless but I guess it's just not to be.

These are one of a kind headset when I had an Xbox one x they worked perfect but since switching to an Xbox series x no audio optical which pretty much turned these into $30 headset, really disappointed with how Astro is dealing with the situation.

    The king of wireless headsets.

I wanted a new headset for my PS4 and for my pc. As someone who has a higher end stereo system and V-Moda M-100 headphones I have high standards for sound. I did not want to go the mod mic route because I prefer a way to control chat volume and game sound indepently. Build quality and overall comfort; Astro has always been known for making really high quality headsets and these are no exception. The plastic doesn't creek and should be able to withstand daily use and abuse. One of my complaints with headsets (all headphones for that matter) is how some headband adjusters are loose and easy to adjust, the A-50s adjusters are firm I doubt these will move by themselves. One con is if you have a big head these might not work for you because on my medium sized head I had to max them out. Comfort is exceptional I can wear these hours on end and I forget they are there. Connectivity; Undoubtedly the most important part of a wireless headset is the connection itself. Astro uses the 5 GHz band for transmission at first this scared me because my router is on the same frequency also. The connection is as solid as you can get after around three hours of gaming I received one very minor cut out that lasted maybe 300 ms. Very impressive indeed! Connecting is fairly straight forward you plug the optical cord into your' tv/ps4 etc and the base has a passthrough so you can still use your' receiver. Sound quality; These are NOT a basshead headset! These are an audiophiles headset the frequency response, using the media preset, is flat and precise. Bass, Treble and mids are even and clear they don't overpower each other. Honestly I love these just as much as my home stereo and V-Moda's that's saying a lot. Microphone and mix amp; There's been some reviews saying that the mic quality is sub par, I agree with this while it's not bad I expect more from a $300 headset. The mixamp is Astro's claim to fame this is the reason why you want this headset. The mixamp is basically a pro tr built into the headset you have three presets built in (that you can fine tune in the Astro hub) along with the usual volume, and game/chat mixer. The mixer itself is perfect my only complaint is the "surround sound" makes the sound tinny and adds reverb. It's not horrible but it's lacking. Final thoughts; Battery life showed four bars after fours of gaming. Charging took around six hours from %0 to %100 not the greatest but on the plus side the battery should last several years before it degrades. Overall this a fantastic headset and would recommend it %100.
