Customers are saying

Customers regard the A50 Wireless Headset's sound quality, comfort, and battery life as its strongest features, with many praising the immersive audio experience and long-lasting power. However, some users experienced connection issues and noted the relatively high price point. The wireless functionality was also a plus for many, although a few mentioned limitations in range. While some found the fit comfortable, others commented on the headset's weight.

    BUY AND NEVER LOOK BACK

let me start by saying i never write reviews but do use them to make purchasing decisions, and after my experience with about 10 headsets i needed to share my experience. I have owned so many different headsets over the last two years its criminal, afterglow lvl 3, hyper x clouds, turtle beach 600, and 700's, rig 800 lx you name it and finally these bad boys. let me start by saying that these are extremely aesthetically pleasing to me in the gray and green color combination big props there astro. moving on, the actual sound of the headset itself. i play exclusively FPS games, any cod you can imagine, Apex Legends, rb6 siege, and PUBG are the main rotation. I can hear things that my teammates cannot hear most times giving us about 3-4 seconds before we get engaged or third partied. This headset is the truth honestly. I can tell if footsteps are above and to the right of me, above and to the left, back left and back right, front left, front right, you name a direction and you will hear not only the general direction but pinpoint directional sounds. the battery life on these is so good I'm not even the slightest bit concerned, and the docking station also looks fantastic in my living room. never have i ever had such an overall fantastic experience and i have owned them all (except STEELSERIES) and these are the truth. I am a firm believer after my headset debacle that you get what you pay for in headsets, and if you are serious about gaming multiple hours, multiple times a week like i do. buy once and cry once you will never look back. use some earbuds while you save up the money because once you get these it will change how you view headsets forever.

Do you like losing party chat?

If you enjoy having party chat being dropped, resulting in the need to hard reset your Xbox, these are the $300 headset for You! I left the TB Elite 800x because I was tired of my friends telling me it sounded like I was talking through a tin can (after 19 firmware upgrades) and let me tell you how under impressed I am with the A50s! First of, super comfy. They feel great on the head. The sound is magnificent and my friends can hear me perfectly! It's everything I wanted that the Tbs didn't do (except zero blue tooth to your phone so no music, calls, notifications from this head set (for $300)). The only issue is, about every 30 to 120 mins, the chat dies. Game sounds stay connected but your chat connection to you party is wasted. This requires a hard reset of your Xbox to resolve. That's awesome when your me playing survival with your friends in The Division and after that hard reset, you can listen to them finish because you cannot join them so you get to chill for 45 minutes and wait for the to finish. Awesome fun! I cannot wait to return these. Clearly the PC is where it's at. Have you noticed the best buy shelves? Consoles have 2 brands, TB and Astro. PC, 30 brands. Why is this the case? Consoles exclusivity! I'm thinking it's time to ditch consoles so I'm not bound by the Xbox/PlayStation monopoly. This is ridiculous. 2 different $300 headset for the Xbox and they both have terrible, fatal, flaws. No thanks. Buyer beware.

    Top notch quality headset!

I originally purchased the Logitech G933 Artimis Spectrum Snow Edition. I wanted a set that really went above and beyond for me when playing Battlefield 1 on PC. They were great, but didn't compare to my old A50 first Generation series I owned. So then i see that Astro is revamping the A50 and was set to release in October. I walked into my local best buy on the 28th, picked them up, and took them home and I have not looked back! They are phenomenal. Great eq settings OTB (if you aren't into tweaking) and even better customization options if you're into fine tuning your audio experience. Surround sound experience is great as well. Big improvement over my original A50's and better sound stage in my opinion than my logitechs. I would recommend these 100 percent over any other headset. This is one of those purchases that yes, you'll spend a good bit of money, BUT its so worth it. Buy it, try it. you wont regret it.

    Excellent Headset

The Astro A50 generation 3 headset is a drastic improvement from the previous generation. The previous generation was plagued by constant disconnects and interference- also they had the annoying cable from the headset to the controller. This generation fixed all these issues. The sound quality out of this headset is fantastic. The ability to customize up to three different sound settings makes them incredibly versatile for gaming, listening to music, and watching movies. The lack of any cables to the console and controller makes them really convenient. I also like the ability to mute the mic by flipping it up- no buttons to press. I've experienced some occasional glitches. Once in a while no sound will play out of the headphones after turning on the Xbox console or one of the earcups will temporarily develop a rattling sound as the sound plays. Both of these minor inconveniences have always been solved by unplugging the base station power cable and plugging it back in. I recommend taking the headset off when you do this as it will occasionally play a loud popping sound as they turn back on. I am overall very happy with the purchase and, even though the price tag is steep, would absolutely recommend these to anyone looking for a solid headset for gaming.

    Best Long Term Investment

    Posted .

Ive had lots of headphones prior to these, none have lasted half as long as these. Ive owned Turtle beaches, Playstation Gold and Platinum Headsets etc, each lasted to about a year, give or take. Ive had My Astro A50s for almost 4 years now. They sound as good as the day Ive gotten them. After these four years Ive noticed the battery is slightly decreased, the paint of certain pieces comes off, but all hinges and pieces feel as sturdy as day 1. No issues with Microphone or headphones on PS4. PC is a seperate story, both headphones and micrphone works very well except on discord, Astro A50's do not always work on Discord, this is a known issue through many A50 owners and its unfortunate. I ended up buying Astro A10's for my PC. These A50's are the best investment ive made on headphones.

I have been using this headset for over a year and its has its pros and cons. Pro: Its very comfortable, the sound quality is amazing, its wireless Cons: 1) The connection issue; during gameplay the sound would disconnect and the base would flash, I replaced the digital optical cable but it only lessen the problem. I even updated the headphone but no luck 2) The battery life; When full charge it works no problem. However, when you turn off the head phones it only goes into a standby mode and if you happen to leave it off the base the battery drains quickly. There is no way of completely turning off the headphones 3) Charging; this has to be the worst part of the headphones. If the headset is SLIGHTLY off position it will not charge. You really have to spend a minute (seriously) to make sure the headset is charging.

    Great Gaming Headset

I recently purchased this headset for my PS4 gaming sessions after going through 2 headsets (different manufacturer) in as many years. I did my research, read the reviews, and settled on this pair of Astros. The quality build is what really sold me, and wow does the sound quality really show! I'm hearing sounds I didn't pick up on my previous headsets and it's honestly helped my skill level at certain games too; the ability to pick out differences between certain types of sounds and the distance/height/direction it's coming from really makes a difference. The price may be steep but if you can afford it I would highly recommend picking up a pair if you play frequently enough to justify the cost then you cannot go wrong with this choice. 15 hours of battery life is prefect for a day full of playing your favorite games, and the charging base makes it easy to keep track of how much battery remains at any time. Pros: -Build quality -Sound quality -Battery life -Mute function (instead of finding a button, flip up the mic) Cons: -High cost

Best gaming headset for PS and Xbox!

Best “dual” headset on the market. I bought the PlayStation version of the headset and have used it the past 2-3 years and have had no issues downloaded the app to my laptop for firmware updates and make adjustments here and there and boom all set. Battery life is great the base station is cool too. I call it a dual headset because I bought the base station only from Amazon for my Xbox series x and connected via usb once it was set up which took all of five mins after downloading the Dolby app to the Xbox. All you have to do is take the headset off the PlayStation base set it on the Xbox base station and boom it’s synced and works with the Xbox. Sounds crazy but it was that simple.

    Best Headset on PS4

I bought these and returned them because of the price and I bought the Playstation Platinums instead. I had the Platinums for a day and went back and purchased these again. If you can stomach the cost, they're the best headset you can buy for the PS4. Make sure you follow the directions on how to change your PS4 settings to make them work the best. Using the app on a PC allowed me to customize the 3 EQ presets to fit my games the most. I play BO4 and Destiny 2 and these things really enhance my gaming. Crystal clear sound, booming bass, and they are the most comfortable thing I've worn before. Plus, I get zero interference with them thanks to the 5Ghz spectrum they use to operate. The Platinums use 2.4 and the PS Golds use Bluetooth. Both sets had constant problems with cutting out due to signal interference in my house. The A50's are perfect. I literally can't say enough good things about them.

    Honest Review

I have been using this headset since its release back in late 2016. They offer great sound and the battery last for ever but it is not with out its faults. I actually find the headset a bit uncomfortable, the top of my head will get sore after prolonged use which was not the case with my previous a40s. Software could be better but it is functional. I had to return my first set due to the fact that I had constant sound cut outs and firmware nor troubleshooting fixed the issue. Now the headset does not cut out but the drive does act up from time to time on win10. Besides those snapfoos it is not bad headset but I did expect more for the price. The mod kit seems to be the solution for the comfort issue but that is another $40 to add on to the cost of an already high priced set.

    An Excellent Headset for Shooters

The headset is very comfortable (4-hour session) and of course there are no cables to be concerned about. The docking station is easy to set up and the headset goes in and out quite easily, remaining stable while docked. The sound quality is excellent with no noise, great separation, plenty of volume, and quick and easy bias on player vs. game audio. I can finally place the footsteps in COD. They're not cheap, but if these prove to be durable they'll be worth the money. This review is for Best Buy SKU 5368400.

Replaced PlayStation Gold headphones which broke and a friend recommended the Astro 50. These are top of the line and the sound and comfort wearing these are outstanding. Worrh the price and the ease of use is nice. Especially like the charging station and the flip mute function. The only thing that could be better, a users guide that actually explains the features a little better. But not a major problem. If you are looking to get new headphones, spend the extra $, my buddy has had his for 4 years, no issues with them. These are awesome in COD, I can't get over the difference with these! Well built product. Get them

So far I am happy with this purchase. Yes the price is a little steep but it seems like it was well worth it. The headset seems like it is built pretty sturdy. The connection is solid even walking into other rooms of the house I can still talk. The sound is crystal clear for the battle royale games that I play. Charge seems to hold up well. Played 6 hours and was still at 75% or above. I cant really tell how long it takes to charge since I charge over night but it is always done when I wake up. No complaints so far. 5 star Product.

I've had this headset for a couple of years now, and I have had nothing but problems with it. Don't take my word for it, and don't listen to the reviews here. Simply go to their website and check their support forums. You may get lucky with them. Also remember, this headset requires a dolby digital live capable sound card for surround sound to work properly. The only reason I give them two starts is they do sound good when they are working, and they are comfortable. I've had two main issues with these....and I have had the replaced, and both had the same issues. They will sometimes lock up (no sound, can't turn off), forcing you to let the batter drain on them. This can take a while, so will be without a headset till that happens. The other issue is the sound just stops working and you have to repair the device. These are very annoying issues for a 300$ headset. Save your money and getting something better for a much lower price.
