Feels like a movie theater in my ears
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far they are the best clearest headphones I have ever put on my ears I can speak to my team with precision and hear the game with quality and when you watch a movie it is equally as good

A40s are significantly better.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These don't come with a MixAMP ***PRO*** which in my opinion is the greatest part about Astro's. Also, I had two pairs of these, both of them had a crackling noise that would happen occasionally, and definitely should't when you spend this much on headphones. They also plug into the controller in order to chat, and cover all ports on bottom of controller, and there is no volume adjuster on it to change chat/game, which again is why you need a MixAMP pro.

Quality product. Awesome sound!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great set of headphones for gaming. I don't currently use the chat part of it, but the sounds are amazing for both Xbox one and PS4. Very easy to switch between systems.

Worth the price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have turtle beaches and these are way better. The sound is clearer and the surround sound is even more accurate. And they don't do that crackling that the turtle beaches did.

Waste of money!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought these about 5 days ago and did not like them. They do not fit secure around the head and move around too much. The battery life is very bad and the stand messes up the cushioning on the headband. If I'm gonna buy a $300 headset I would expect them to be perfect, these suck.

Worth every penny!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Before I bought this headset I did my homework. In the end it boiled down to two headsets, Astro A50 and the Turtle Beach Elite 800. Yes, I am aware that there are other headsets but in my opinion those other headsets seemed to cater more towards PC. With that said, I am using the Astro A50 on my PS4. Luckily I was able to test and compare both headsets side by side. I'd like to start off by saying that both headsets are amazing to say the least and to be honest you can't go wrong with either one. However, in my opinion the A50 seemed to out do its opponent in almost everything. The three things I look for are comfort (I game about forty to fifty hours a week), sound quality and chat/mic quality. Both headsets felt good but the A50 were lighter and also didn't squeeze my head (I have a big head) but not everyone has the same head so take that with a grain of salt. The Elite 800 sounded great and the directional sound was on point however, though the sound was great it didn't seem to have the same clarity and depth the A50 had. Also a big issue I had with the Elite 800 was the volume limit on both game audio and chat audio. Plain and simple, they just weren't loud enough. The chat quality kind of ties into the volume limit in a way. You see, because the volume limit is so low, if you want to hear the party chat you'll have to basically put the game audio almost all the way down and even then I still felt like the chat wasn't loud enough. The A50 had no issues in any of these categories. Comfort is great! They're light, no inward pressure against your head. I have used them for about eight hours straight and no discomforts what so ever. (Also the battery life on both headsets is about the same, 8-10 hours.) The sound quality is practically perfect. The highs and lows come thru as if angels were delivering the sound to you. I do have to point out that I like bass and let me tell you that this headset delivers it. You will actually feel the vibration. You won't find any volume limit on this headset either. They can be very loud! It's almost stupid how loud they can go. Their game and chat audio is a balance (meaning, if you put game audio up the chat audio automatically goes down and vise versa)which a lot of people don't like but it works flawlessly in this headset. You don't have to sacrifice one over the other and my favorite part is that you can be in chat party and if the game you are playing has a scene or part you'd like to listen to and not be bothered by everyone's voice all you have to do is hold the game audio button and you drown out the chat without having to ever leave the party. Simply say I'll be right back, flip the mic up and crank up the game audio. All in a matter of seconds. Now it's not all candies and rainbows, they do have their faults. The mic mute is great (just flip up to mute and down to unmute) but the mic itself is not quite perfect. First of all they could have made it removable ( like its predecessor the A40) and/ or at least made it somewhat more flexible. You'll have to bend it a lot for it to get the curve it needs to face your mouth. The charging cable that comes with the headset is ridiculously short. My gaming set up doesn't have the headset right next to the PS4 therefore I had to buy a longer USB to mini USB cable. Which is really inconvenient considering you just dished out $300 plus dollars. They only have three audio presets to choose from. This is no problem for me however I marked it as a flaw because its contender (Elite 800) has many more preset options. But in my opinion they all sounded the same. I owned the TB Tango and they had a bunch of presets and yet I only used one. Elite 800 have the capability to connect your phone so you can answer calls while gaming and the A50 do not. Then you also have the extended warranty, the Twitch membership and TB elite membership tossed in when you get the Elite 800 which will help you feel better about spending the money. In the end none of those things could sway me from the Astro A50. They are a truly amazing headset that will definitely change your gaming experience for the better regardless of their minor and few shortcomings.
