    Finally a headset loud enough

I'm not a pro gamer or spend many hours playing but I decided I wanted to by a headset for my Xbox one to hear all the details in the game, I tried the turtle beach seven pro, 500x and the ELITE 800x and I returned them all because the audio was just too low for my taste even when I turned it at max, I went back and bought the Astro a50 and wow the difference is stunning, the sound is not only 3 times higher than all the turtle beaches I tried it also sounds better to me. The turtle beach elite 800x have many more functions but when it came to design and sound which is what I really care the Astro A 50 turned up to be the perfect headset for me. The only thing I didn't like is the volume wheel feels weird and it's hard to control and find the desired level, I wish they had put a tone to when you reach the min/max levels, hope this review helps others.

This is by far the best headset ive tried..the most comfortable..its light and loud and the 7.1 surround sound its amazing..i can use this for long sessions and wont bother me. But i still think there not worth $300 because of the fact that they are not completely wireless..butwhen i saw them on sale for $225 i bought a pair..great headset over all

    Best Audio Device EVER

So I was in the market for new cans for my X1 after outgrowing my cheap 50 bucks stereo headset. I knew I wanted 7.1 surround and completely wireless( although these still require cord for chat). I first picked up the Turtle Beach Elite 800x which are also $300. Yes they are sleeker looking, have more features and dont require a cord for chat however THE GAMING AUDIO IS TRASH! I kept trying to turn it up and no matter the mode everything sounded the same, weak bass, low volume, just light and dull! I took them back after 4 days and forcing myself to like them. Thank God I picked these up instead! This has to be the most amazing audio quality Ive ever experienced in my life. Its loud, clear, bass thumps your eardrums, can hear every footstep and direction of gun fire. The set up and updating the firmware was a breeze too. This is WELL worth the heavy investment of $300, TRUST ME I"M CHEAP! LOL . Astros have converted me for life....will never go back to cheap over hyped Turtle Beach again!

    High Quality but CRITICAL Flaw

Short review: High pitched hum in right ear when talking renders headset unusable. Long review: The quality and materials used for the Astro A50 were very impressive and are top notch. I was very excited to pickup a pair from a local BestBuy. I had my concerns about battery life, and if the battery would lose its ability to hold a charge over time, however another flaw caused me to return the headset within the first 5 days. The flaw which caused me to return this headset after only using it for a period of 2 hours on a single occasion, was a issue that causes a high pitched buzz or humm in the right ear / speaker when the microphone transmits audio to the receiver. I did not notice the noise at first, but once I did, it was impossible to ignore. I tried playing music or game audio to drown out the noise, but it was piercing and was beginning to cause me to develop a headache. I did extensive research prior to buying this headset, and I did not find this listed as an issue in any review. Once i noticed the issue i did some more research, and a quick google search for "astro a50 right ear buzzing", returns a good number of results where many other users are experiencing this issue. For a price tag of $299 in the US, this issue is extremely disappointing. While I did not contact Astro support myself, responses given to other buyers seems to indicate Astro is aware of the issue, and simply recommends trying to "ignore" the sound, or playing music to drown it out. From the responses that other owner received, the perception is that Astro seems to consider the issue an engineering or design flaw, but that the product is "working as intended". I was able to return the A50 to the same store I purchased it from, and came home with the A40. So far, I am MUCH happier with the A40 for the sole reason that the noise is gone. Unrelated to this issue, I also actually find the A40 to be more comfortable as the padding used for the head support and the ears is softer. Kudos to BestBuy for a quick and easy return experience.

    Amazing sound, connection issues

I loved these when I first got them. The sound quality is amazing, arguably the best I've had. The look is awesome as well, but I've had a few issues. First, the connection doesn't always hold, and sometimes my friends can't hear me. Next, mine crackle, more than they should. Finally, they sometimes just die. I tried to do the updates, but the issues weren't fixed. I have Geek Squad protection, so I'll be switching to the new A40's soon. If there wouldn't have been those issues, the headset would be amazing. Comfy, great looking, and amazing sound, just too many issues for myself...

I bought it, exchanged it, and returned it. Did not work on either device. I am very disappointed that it did not work. Had problems with voice chat and game chat. It would kick in and out. Suggestions to fix...remove AG1 adapter, or amend firmware to where it can be compatible with Xbox...preferably like PS4. Works perfect with the PS4.

Only issue I have with them is the need to charge daily if you log multiple hours, beyond that they are very comfortable and sound amazing. The Game/Chat volume and overall volume toggle on your right ear is perfect for mid-game adjustments.

    Amazing Headset!

First off I would like to say I have used alot of major brand headsets in the past and this is my first Astro purchase. This is an amazing headset for any hardcore gamer. the ONLY downfall is I would say UNLESS you like the White/Lime Xbox One version then go for a different variant. The Xbox One adapter that comes with this headset is worthless. I ended up purchasing the Xbox One chat adapter + a 2.5mm to 3.5mm audio cable and it works perfect now Pro's of this headset 1. Sound 2. Durability 3. Style 4. Comfort Con's of this headset 1. The included Xbox One headset adapter like I said before unless you LOVE the White/Lime color then go for the other Astro A50 Version like the PS4/PS3/PC version, and just buy the Adapter + 2.5mm to 3.5mm audio cable

    Big sound, tiny battery

Pros: Big, movie theater sound. Convenient controls on the headset itself. I like the attached mic and how it mutes when flipped into the up position. The range is also nice compared to my last set of wireless cans, I can pretty much walk anywhere in my apartment without the sound cutting out. They're also the most comfortable set of over the ear headphones I've ever worn. Did I say big sound? Cons: The battery life. I made it though about 6 hours of constant use before it needed to be plugged in again. This is a little less than the 8-10 the box says. You can listen and charge, but the included charging cable is very short. Its a mini USB, so you can supplement your own cable if you have one (I'm using the controller charging cable that came with the Xbox one). You CAN use this headset with the PS3 as well, but you have to supply your own cable that plugs into the headset/controller for chat. Overall, a nice set of headphones. Not sure they're worth the $300 just yet. If I didn't have a gift card I probably would have gone with something a bit cheaper.

I buy this headset on 12/19/14 cause i need one, ppl are killing me so easy in titanfall or call duty, now i can heard them w/e they coming from, also i buy it cause the reviews. This headset is the best to the best, sound amazing loud and clear, the mic works perfect everyone can heard me clear, i dont have any issues at all, make sure you connected right and do not connect the power before you sure everything is connected, and also you need to set up this headset with ur xbox go to settings in ur xbox, then in sound select digital then another option pop ups and check mark that one too, now you have equilizer with 3 options, i select lvl 3, cause i can heard steps and voices very clear n loud, the other levels sound more deep, so i dont liked, is very comfortable i play almost another day like 12hrs, and nothing hurts, battery life like it says in the guide 10 or 11hrs perfect enought time to use it, when i stop playing i recharge my headset, love this babys, i heard my movies omg sound like you are in the movie, like my hometheater system, so cheers ppls there is my review i hope helps you, and yes it is 7.1 SURROUND SOUND AMAZING

First this is a great headphone, great sound, and for me this headphones is best for comfort, i used to go with turtle beach but the comfort is so bad. My problem with this is the buzzing sound while plugged in with controller cable connect to xbox controller, and if u don't chat no worry about this, but me, i play Competitive COD so i talk a lot and yes it bugs me but i do know how to solve it, if u want to know leave a comment because i don't want to type that much, another thing is when u charge it, right after is fully charged the orange light will still be on instead of turning red, and other than that, the headphone is amazing! i will say is the best gaming headset when it comes to audio and comfort, u can hear footsteps and when someone picks up the bomb really clearly, but if u don't care about the comfort, turtle beach PX 51 is really good, i said that because i have them, and thanks to all who Read (red) this, because it is long....

I love these but also I hate them... My fith pair this year I'm not giving up on these headsets I don't like turtle beaches at all. I had a few problems with these one was turning off every five minutes and the other was they don't turn off when I press the off switch... I have to wait till the battery dies and after switching them I finally got it where it doesn't turn off on me? But still have the problem where it doesn't turn off and when that happens I can't change the volume on the side! Anyways always get the protection plan!

Great head set. I use this on my PS4, XBONE, PC (using the optical output on the MOBO), and bedroom TV (with its optical output). Had zero issues with chat or sound on the PC or PS4, and it works great with the bed room TV (so I wont wake the wife at night if I'm watching a movie or playing one of my older game systems# Had a crackling / hissing sound when first using it with the XBONE because of the settings on the game system #make sure you have the optical set to bitstream out and DOLBY digital on the xbox, and not 7.1, 5.1, or DTS digital surround#. The only problem #and not worth taking a star for# is the optical cable can be a pain to plug into the back of the game system if it is already hooked up and in place. Do yourself a favor an get a couple of extra optic cables and leave them plugged into the optical out for everything you will be using the headset with. That way you only have to plug the other end into the mix amp when you want to use it. #The USB is easy enough since the ports are usually in the front / side of just about everything).
