Just one day with the laptop, so far. It's light and small enough to carry around in my backpack, although may need another layer of protection because it is a fragile/thin laptop. I've removed the Norton Antivirus and just use the Microsoft defender for my internet protection. I listen to the tech guy that says Microsoft's protection is good enough. The specs are fair, I guess, for the price you pay. Good enough for internet and small projects. Just don't expect too much punch. I did notice that the hard drive shows 18.8GB instead of the 32GB, I was expecting. The best buy chat said that the GB loss is OS resources. Maybe. All in all, for just one day of use, a good laptop for my needs.

I picked this laptop up from BB for a few-day medical stay I had to make, with the only intention of it being to watch a few movies and review a few medical records. The laptop met my expectations and more. It's super lightweight, the battery life is magnificent. The screen is blah, but sufficient. The speed is not overwhelming, but capable. The keyboard is a very nice chiclet style, and the trackpad doesn't feel overly cramped. The audio level is pretty poor, but you can't win them all. So far, I would certainly recommend this laptop for the casual user. :)

Got this laptop for college because I wanted something compact but efficient and this hit the nail on the head. Great display and doesn't run as slowly as I expected. Got it on sale for $169.99 and was the perfect price. Comes with a year of microsoft which is a plus. Overall I am very pleased with the bang for the buck and would recommend this to anyone looking for a basic laptop, something for college, or a small alternative to a tablet.

Probably like most buyers my choice was between the HP Stream 11 and this Asus. I read some reviews, watched others on youtube but at the end of the day it was the sale price that pulled the trigger for me. The HP has full size HDMI and SD card slots while the Asus has micro/mini slots. That's something I can live with. The Asus is supposed to have the longer battery life which is a plus. The Asus looks good, the screen is glossy and decent when viewed straight on. The keyboard is excellent and the touch pad is a good size and works well. I added a 32 gig Samsung Class 10 micro SD card also from Bestbuy for $12 so storage should be sufficient for me even without the free cloud space. You need to realize though that the Atom processor is built for low power consumption and not speed. Paired with the 2 gig of memory you get passable performance in most applications but you do get the occasional annoying delays or mini freeze ups. I bought this unit as a second travel or tag along laptop and for that it is more than sufficient and I would recommend it to anyone with a tight cost consideration. If money is a minor consideration compared to performance there are better - faster 11.6" / 2.5 lbs models available. Bottom line is I like it and am happy with my purchase. Kudos to Bestbuy for the great price.

    Great little machine

I've got a Macbook as my primary home computer but I was eyeing this for a while as a secondary device. Why? I wanted a small Windows compatible machine that I could tote around with me on business trips so I didn't need to bring my 5+ pound company issued laptop along for the ride. As a recovering geek I was also interested in giving Windows 10 for a spin around the block. It took a couple of hours to install 10 on top of the preinstalled 8.1. Once it was up and running I was very pleasantly surprised. It's powerful enough to quickly move through work emails and also great for casual web surfing on the couch. It's dead silent, weighs almost nothing and the battery goes forever (12-15 hours between charges when I'm at home surfing). Using it is also a pleasure - for the money the screen, keyboard and trackpad all exceeded my expectations. High five to the folks at Asus for pulling this off. Unless your into gaming or serious multitasking this should be all a lot of people need.

Good Laptop , poor service in store

Let's just say it , for a 169 bucks this is a bargain. It looks good , it's light weight , pretty quick due to the SSD. On the negative side; It has Windows 8 , and the 32GB is not near the storage you really get , half is more correct if you are lucky. So I am happy , but not happy with the service in the Bestbuy store on 5th in NYC. 4 Bestbuy "service agents" stood chatting and seemed annoyed when I asked a question. Then they showed me the wrong Computer when I asked if they had it displayed. And when I wanted to buy it , they had to go in the back to get it wich took forever and it seemed like that I just bothered them the whole time. I am used to another service level , both from other stores and Bestbuy stores.

i love this laptop. the travel size makes it easier for on the go. a best buy co worker tried to lie and say not to go with this laptop because he said this is the slowest one on the market. I ad this for a few days and its a really good laptop. i can do multitasking on this and its fast. there is only one negative thing and that is that it doesnt have a HDMI port. Other than that, THIS LAPTOP IS AWESOME!!!!! P.S. Don't listen to the workers..read the review and do some research. Honestly half the workers dont know what they are talking about. Believe me i had my share of experience.

    Excellent "Value" Laptop

This is a great laptop for everyday use (web browsing, email, Excel, Word, etc). It is actually snappier than I was expecting. I have used other laptops in this price range that sport the Celeron N2830 or N2840. I have to say, even though this one has an Atom CPU, it really does feel as fast if not faster than the Celeron laptops in this class. This could be due to the fact it has a quad-core CPU and the Celeron CPU's only being dual-core. From a build perspective, this laptop does not disappoint. It actually feels more premium than my $600 HP Pavilion. It is no Apple, but it is actually very nice. The plastics are decent and the keyboard feels good and quite and is a breeze to type on. Battery life has been excellent and I have been getting around 10 hours or more between charges. Screen is bright, while admittedly not having the best viewing angles. Although the angles are not bad and better than many in this price range. Super thin and light, which is why I bought it. The only real dings I have about it are the speakers (they really are not good) and occasionally the trackpad can be a bit challenging and is not perfect (I have had it lose multi-touch after waking up from sleep mode). Also, I would recommend buying at least a 64GB SD card as the storage fills up quickly (although this is really designed for cloud storage). 1 year of Office 365 is a plus, as well as the 1TB of cloud storage it comes with. At $199, this is an excellent value. If you can find it on sale for less, it is basically a steal. I can't recommend it enough. Pros: Thin and Light, Excellent battery life, Portable, Decent track-pad, Nice keyboard Cons: Not the best viewing angles (but nowhere near the worst), Not the best speakers

My primary computers are Macs, but I wanted a low cost notebook to test out Windows 10. This is not a top of the line machine with top of the line parts. What it is an extremely economical, light weight, small laptop for basic computing. It will serve my needs of using it for Microsoft Office, Netflix and general internet surfing. For well under $200 I got a full Windows 10 laptop with Microsoft Office 365 and 1TB of storage for a year. That is a steal of a deal! On top of that the notebook battery last longer than any laptop I've ever used.

Upgrade to Windows 10 and you are likely to find you have a $150 machine that performs considerably beyond your expectations. I found that the Windows 10 upgrade noticeably improved speed over 8.1. The only negatives (both minor to me) are the 32GB drive (but with the micro SD slot for additional storage, it's workable) and it's kind of a fingerprint magnet. In any case, I DEFINITELY recommend this little gem - lightweight, small, surprisingly fast, very good speakers by my ears (this is very subjective) and the keyboard is comfortable considering it's smaller than normal form factor. I considered the HP Stream 11 but the Asus looks nicer and I thought it felt better to use. Bottom line - you get more than $150 worth. If you're on the bubble, go for this. For the price, it's a no-brainer. Just skip a night out and use that cash :-)

I stream live tv through time warner without a hitch, battery lasts through a movie and some easily, keyboard feels really good, goes in the car whenever I go (fits in glove compartment), does not get hot, connects to 5ghz wireless signal which is fast, unlike tablets, this is both a productive tool and entertainment device ... currently submitting job apps through this lol ... LOVE IT!

Pros: 1) Lightweight, rather inconspicuous 2) Small enough that working on this device is easy enough when in cramped spaces such as a bus, car or airplane 3) Super long battery life even when watching extended movies/tv shows Cons: 1) No backlit keyboard so working without proper lighting is a pain 2) Hooking up an external memory device to this is easy but only works with solid state hard drives 3) Tons of absolutely useless programs initially installed on this device that take up way too much RAM and memory.

works great for everyday use like email, web browsing, youtube. its no speed demon but for the money I paid I am very happy. free windows 10 upgrade was worth the wait,... took about an hour to complete. very durable! I dropped it twice now by accident at about waist high (I'm 6'0) and nothing broke just some scuffs. only thing that sucks is the material on the out side is a finger print magnet . other than that I love it

Bought this great little notebook to replace my hefty old laptop with a dead battery. I still can't believe how well it works for the price. I'm not sure why others have complained about the TouchPad gestures. Mine works fine. My only complaints are that the arrow keys are too small and that the back of the screen causes the bottom to lift off the rubber tabs that keep the base from sliding. But the battery lasts a full 8 hours at least, and I can finally do my work on the go without being attached to an outlet.

I was looking for something small and cheap i could bring with me to school and friends houses. This laptop works great for anything you need to do on microsoft office of web browsing. It can even handle hearthstone and mine craft pretty well. The laptop feels sturdy and not cheaply made and the keyboard is not squeezed together and ease to use. The webcam is low quality but that isnt what i bought it for anyways. The battery life is great and i can easily reach ten hours with out recharging. Summary: overall good laptop for such a low price.
