Just what I was looking for.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A moderately powered detachable that does everything I wanted from it. Light gaming, browsing, and media consumption. I have had no issues with it, on latest build of Windows 10, with all the latest drivers.

Best Laptop I have ever had.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this laptop so much. I have been saving for a laptop for a while, and when the reviews over the t300 chi came out, I was skeptical. This computer has NO lag. I mean, literally none. I can run seven tabs on Microsoft Edge, play music, and have a professional photo editing software open and it will work like there is only one tab open. I love the keyboard as well. It is simple to type on, the keys bounce back perfectly, and the trackpad is accurate and not too fast or too slow. The touchscreen is the best I have encountered on a laptop. I have had a Microsoft Surface (bad idea,) and tested many other laptops as well. I am an electronic enthusiast (: The camera is nothing special, don't expect a smartphone selfie-taker or anything, but it will get you by for Skype/Google Hangout. A few complaints I have are not against the laptop itself, but against Windows 10. I do not like the lack of customization on the "lock" screen. I also don't like the Microsoft Store very well, but with a laptop like this (with a ton of ram and storage) you can just download things off the internet. Last but not least I must compliment the Best Buy(s) I went to in Wichita, Kansas. These laptops are very popular and there aren't many of them. The sales associates were very helpful with me finding what I needed without having to go to a crazy number of stores. I 10/10 recommend this laptop to you. I don't need to know what you need it for, because it will do everything. I edit photos (Canon Rebel t5,) do a lot of school work, and can play all the games I want on it.

Its an IPad, Surface and Pro-Laptop, in One
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Like most techies, I own one of almost every device made. That includes iPhone, IPad, Android Tablets, i7 desktop and laptop. The Asus Chi 300 2 in I convertible is a crystal clear step above everything in its class, especially at Best Buys price and service, Its built solid, its built tight, It feels like it costs 10x what I paid. The keyboard goes on and off like butter. its easy to use if you do code or write alot. When you take off the keyboard the tablet is downright sexy. Thin, solid and responsive. You get 12 inches instead of 10, You get 4GB of RAM instead of 2, You get 128 GB of storage instead of 16 GB, Plus full Windows 10 in a case that is sleeker and uses the same M4 chip that AirBooks use. Add the connections for HDMI and USB and this a very versatile unit for media production. Look at this unit hard before you buy any laptop or tablet. One gripe,, nice blue finish but it will show fingerprints.. Ill live...

Great and compact laptop!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this laptop hybrid to replace my Samsung tab pro 8.4 that I used in my classes at a community college. I am very happy with my purchase and I'm confident that this laptop will last through my college years. PROS: - It is very compact for a 12.5 inch display with .5 inch bezels around the display. - Beautiful display that displays colors pretty well - Completely silent since the CPU operates without a fan - Keyboard is full sized and very comfortable for typing papers - Solid construction, the only plastic piece you will find is the bottom side of the keyboard dock. - The Core M CPU has plenty of power for normal tasks such as document editing, web browsing and some light gaming. CONS: - Speakers are not very loud at max volume, but its nice to have one speaker on each side - When docked, the screen folds back to about 120 degrees. This alright for most situations though. - Keyboard is not back lit and cannot be used as a secondary battery for the laptop, missing features for a $600 machine - 5-6 hours of battery life seems too short, but that's what you get with a machine that is this compact and has no secondary battery in the keyboard. - No full sized usb ports, but does come with a two 3.0 USB dongle NOTES: - Use Internet Explorer for YouTube and other media. I've noticed that watching YouTube videos on Google Chrome causes the CPU to always run at around 35% which will impact battery life. Internet Explorer uses around 10%. - Finding a snug and good looking case is difficult because of its odd dimensions and is less popular. - The Dell Active Stylus (750-AAGN) works great with the display - I recommend getting a bluetooth mouse since the track pad is a bit small. Look for a bluetooth mouse so you wont have to deal with cables hanging off of the tablet. I bought a Logitech Ultrathin mouse (t630) for this laptop and it works great.

Excellent value for a unique piece of hardware.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great laptop and definitely a recommended buy if you can deal with some of the downsides. I have used this laptop for media consumption and word processing and have enjoyed its portability and the hybrid design element. If you are going to use this laptop for some light computing and web browsing I would say the specs are plenty to handle those tasks flawlessly. The overall build quality also makes it a pleasant machine to hold and to use. Pros: -Portable -Hybrid design -Good battery life -Good construction quality -Great keyboard -Cheap There are a few quirks with this machine. The wifi keyboard did not work when I first launched the device. I had to reinstall the USB Controller drivers to get the darn thing to work. Based on other reviews this looks like a common issue. The speakers on the device are not that great and produce a very hollow sound. The volume also does not go up that high so if you want to fill a room with sound then you will need to connect to external speakers. Cons: -Initial keyboard connection issues (not an ongoing problem once fixed) -Bad sound -A little top heavy -Pivot locks out at a high angle (probably designed this way because top heavy) Other things to consider: The keyboard has a battery that needs to be charged through a micro USB cord. The battery life lasts about 2-3 weeks so not really a con. If you are looking for something that is unique, relatively inexpensive, with solid construction quality, then I would recommend giving this laptop a try. Verdict: 4.5 Stars

So Wanted This To Work
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pros: Great disply, good CPU, nice overall design. Cons: Weight unbalanced. i.e. top heavy when tablet attached to keyboard. Had less than 100GB useable space out of the box.

Cool little hybrid laptop!

elegant machine
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The computer body is all-metal and looks very elegant. The keyboard is great! You can use a digitizer pen to take notes, annotate pdf files, and draw pictures,... So far so good. Very fast and the screen is very sharp. Strongly recommend.

Great Tablet not so for computer purpose
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Tablet is great and very convenient but can't be used as full time laptop. It's hassle in the start to connect keyboard. It would be great if they come up with keyboard dock instead of Bluetooth connection

Not user friendly, bluetooth keyboard didn't work
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We purchased this for our daughter to use at college, however the keyboard wouldn't work. We did a factory reset and it worked for 24 hrs and then it no longer worked. Set up was a pain as well. Pop ups from spam or malware kept us from getting very far. After 2 days of fighting with factory resets and calling Asus for help we gave up and purchased a non bluetooth keyboard computer. Touchscreen was nice. Operating system seemed ok, but since we had to trouble shoot so much we never got to use much. No USB ports, but did have an adapter on the charger cord from the keyboard to the screen you could possibly use with a mouse or other device that hooks to USB.
