You worry about budget electronics, but this is a good brand (made in Taiwan, not China...there's a difference), and it's doing fine after a couple of days of use.

Good for my needs

I have never owned a Windows-based laptop (and with any luck, I will never have to again.) But for school I needed one to run a specific program that inexplicably is not available on any other platform. This laptop is perfect for the one semester I will need it. It's not fast and there's not a lot of memory, but I got it on sale and that's all that matters. Would recommend for light computing needs!
