    Computer quit working

    The computer is stuck trying to come back on. Nothing I do gets it to start. It worked fine for about 6 weeks then it crapped out

      We do understand your disappointment and the inconvenience if you are experiencing slow system speed or performance issue with the laptop.





      This issue is temporary during the initial WINDOWS setup and before installing cumulative WINDOWS Update, regardless what brand name of computer this may be. This may take a longer time depending on the network traffic from the update server and the stability of your high-speed internet service or connection. Also, laptop will do several system reboot, black screen temporarily or restart during the update process. Once initial setup and WINDOWS Update installation completed, system speed or performance will be optimized. Keeping Windows updated will maintain optimum system stability and performance.


      If these steps were already performed to no avail, please try to run a diagnostics or optimization test using the "My ASUS" utility software or application. If this is not pre-installed on the laptop, please download the application at the Microsoft Store. For details on how to use "My ASUS", please go to: https://www.asus.com/support/FAQ/1041686/. While accessing web applications, please ensure the laptop has access to an established router and internet service is working properly since this will definitely affect system speed and performance.

    Only lacks a micro sd slot ...

    Picked up 3 of these 14" machines for a very good sale price. Very pleased with this purchase. Almost gave 4 stars due to lack of micro sd slot. But, the numbered touchpad is very useful for me, so that weighted it higher. I can live with using flashdrives. I immediately removed Windows and put Linux Mint 21 Cinnamon on the machines and they run so quick and smoothly. Battery life is probably around 5 to 7 hours of regular use. Not much onboard memory, but I keep all data on external drives, anyway. The numpad did need the driver downloaded from online to perform in Linux. For my specialized use case, these were excellent buys for me. For light use and traveling around with, it is great lightweight laptop. Obviously, I can't speak to how it performs with Windows, though. Sale price was $99.99.

      Dear JonB,

      If the laptop will no longer boot up or it's just black screen, please do the following.

      Verify if the AC adapter is connected properly from the laptop to a known good power outlet or AC source. Try another power source. Try to press and hold down the power button to shut it down completely, just in case laptop is not in hibernate mode, wait for at least 10 seconds then power on. Please wait, if the system is applying updates in the System Registry, it will black screen temporarily. If it still black screen after a few minutes, at least 10 minutes, please repeat the power cycle process again. Also, please try to disconnect the power cable and let the unit drain for 24 hours to clear the memory. This will reset the hardware to default settings. After doing this, please reconnect your AC adapter, do not power on the laptop until the battery was charged.
