Works better for school assignments, small works and easy to carry around

My laptop was old and finally died. I needed something fast and cheap. It serves it’s purpose. I don’t do much streaming, just editing documents, sending emails ect.

I needed a Windows x86 based laptop for car scanners and tuners which were not ARM processor compatible and do not require much processing power. I was looking for the least expensive laptop option I could find and landed on this Asus, which has exceeded my expectations so far. My needs may be somewhat unique, I simply needed something to use in my garage occasionally so most things like battery life, keyboard/touch pad, etc. were not particularly important...the bar was set pretty low. Pros +Battery life has been great, especially standby as I mentioned I use this infrequently and have only had to charge it a few times. +Touch pad works surprisingly well, it had been a long time since I used a Windows touch pad, so maybe they have generally gotten better over the years +++Included 12-MONTHS Office365! I am already a subscriber and this extended my membership for an extra year, I would have expected this as a new Office365 customer promotion, but it will add a year on if you are already in the ecosystem. Cons -Screen is pretty dim -It is slow so I sometimes find myself staring at it wondering if it's working or if it just didn't register an input, which most of the time it's just working slowly. For basic browsing the internet and email this laptop is fine. With the Office365 plan included it becomes a tremendous value. Its debatable how satisfied someone who plans to use this as an everyday machine would be given the sluggish performance though.

For a budget friendly laptop it does what I need it to do. This is a level above budget friendly. I highly recommend it.

I didn’t want to write a review till one month or two months later I am sure if this product. At first, when I got it, it was fine. Was fast and decent enough for me to use it for college and other use for it. It was decently fast on loading a website, it downloaded apps fast, and the sound is good quality. BUT! There’s a catch. It doesn’t support search apps such as chrome or Firefox. It doesn’t seem to support certain TV apps such a as Netflix or Hulu. I have them downloaded but it’s always showing the top gray bar saying it’s insecure. After a couple of months having the laptop, the refresh is slowed down, the websites won’t load certain parts of the cite, not even images won’t even load. I can’t download certain PDF forms unless my laptop is FULLY updated, whatever that means. To me, I find it a waste of money. I bought it for 212 after tax and now suddenly it’s 109? I don’t know why they keep changing the price but it’s. It worth it.
