Customers find value in the 14" Chromebook's ease of use, affordability, and ample RAM. Positive feedback also highlights its lightweight design, compact size, and decent battery life. However, some users express concerns regarding the keyboard's legibility and the sound quality of the speakers. Limited storage space is another area where improvements are suggested.

I love my chromebook. It has essentially replaced my laptop to get quick everyday tasks completed when I don't want to use my phone or tablet. I like to use this when I'm on the couch to shop on the weekends. Its ease of use, fast speed and screen resolution is fine for my needs. I did an online course recently and the speakers weren't as powerful as I would have liked. Otherwise I would have given it 5 stars.

This was a spur of the moment purchase from the local store as I have never owned a Chromebook. I do have Android phones & windows based hardware but not one of these.
I have only had this for a short time and here are my first impressions.
Pro:
(1) Solid hardware, (lots of plastic but OK)
(2) Fantastic sound for such a little device.
(3) Good keyboard (back lit)
(4) Being Google centric here at home the Chromebook setup was simply log into your WiFi network and provide a Google email & pw, answer a few questions, and everything related to the Google account flowed.
(5) Google Play Store: I didn't know what to expect for available apps for this device. Many of the apps I wanted on the Chromebook were available. My list won't be the same as yours so I won't go any further on this topic. Suffice it to say that if something was not available my phone had what I needed so it really wasn't a big problem for me.
(6) Storage is ample and you can't beat 8GB of RAM (It certainly runs fast enough for me and doesn't struggle with any content I have used thus far.
(7) Battery life, it appears to be rather robust. I have not sat down for a full day to test this but having used it today off and on it reports 12 hours remaining to empty.
(8) The track pad is large and easy to use. (although I plan to add a bluetooth mouse soon)
Con:
(1) The unit ships with no instructions. Well almost nothing other than to charge fully before first use and open the lid will turn the unit on. Being tech savvy I was ready for the challenge but others could find that intimidating.
(2) The back lit keyboard is nice but somehow the extra light that glows around each key can make it hard to see. Since it came with no instructions I had to learn from another review that ALT + up/down screen brightness keys allowed you to step through the keyboard light levels.
I never did search the internet for an owners manual (somewhere in the box I think there was a URL for one) but I would guess that one does exist and perhaps I should go look further. My overall impression for this Chromebook is good and I am very happy with my purchase. This would be great for travel.

Great Chromebook. Thin and light. I like that the keyboard is backlit so I can type easily in a dim place. It is fast and doesn't bottle neck even if I have several apps open. The 8gb ram is an added bonus. Its only 64gb internal storage but you could add a micro sd card to extend the capacity. Display is good too! 1080P display. Overall I recommend this Chromebook 100%

The Asus Chromebook is very light and fast. The installed memory (8gb) certainly favors this speed. I was able to perform all the activities that I did before on a Windows PC. I missed the Outlook app for ChromeOS. However, the compatibility of existing apps, and those that can be installed, with the apps I use on my smartphone is very good.

Overall, decently built (keyboard, frame) and with 8GB RAM and 8th Gen Intel dual-core processor, can smoothly run multiple Chrome browser tabs, Android apps, and Linux apps simultaneously (when plugged into mains power). Battery life is ok, so far get about 6 hours on light/moderate workloads. The 14-inch 1080p non-touch display is ok, but not very bright. Speakers are good, and can produce loud sound. Glad it includes legacy USB and an audio jack. Would rate higher if the internal disk and RAM were upgradable.

Great Chromebook For Remote Work

I bought this Chromebook to utilize in a work from home capacity after finding out Citrix Workspace was available on the Google Play store. I've had no issues with that aspect of things, and the Chromebook itself is fast and has great battery life.
The OS is snappy and I quickly got used to a more cloud based solution. Overall I'd recommend this to anyone looking for a cheaper option for a laptop. I use this for work, watching movies, and even just casual web browsing and haven't had a single issue.

I bought this Chromebook as part of a Cyber Monday deal. At $119 this is the best deal for a Chromebook because of the specs:
- Full HD screen: Most low-cost Chromebooks have a 1366 x 768 screen. This has a 1920 x 1080 (Full HD) screen. You will appreciate having the higher resolution screen.
- 8 GB of RAM: This model has 8 GB of RAM, not 4 GB as posted. This extra RAM is a big deal in terms of helping performance. You will spend a LOT more to get a Chromebook with 8 GB of RAM standard.
- Keyboard: The keyboard had a really nice feel to it. Somke reviewers talk about the key labels being hard to see. I don't have any issues with this. In normal light in my office I can read them all just fine.
- Speed: Everything I've done happens quickly and without lag. It feels "fast" for what I am doing.
Some have dinged this Chromebook for the lack of a touchscreen. That is a non-issue for me given the strengths of the other specifications. At this price, it is the absolute best deal available.

I was kind of pleasantly surprised by how much I liked this laptop. I wasn't expecting much, but for the sale price and the capabilities I was looking for, it was honestly great for me. Despite that it doesn't have the convertible form factor or touch screen capabilities, I was personally okay with that. The viewing experience off of the display was pretty decent and comfortable. I was looking for a display that wouldn't be too sharply bright where it gets to hurting my eyes, and this was it for me. The sizing of the display was also proportional and enjoyable. The 8gb ram was an especially nice aspect to this device. It was lighter to hold than I was initially expecting, which makes me feel good about taking it around. I bypassed any issues related to the keyboard lighting, as I'm able type without having to look down thankfully. In sum, it's a product that feels very easy to use. For the price, it absolutely does the job for me

So far so good! My plan for this device is to use it when traveling as it is difficult to use my phone or iPad on things I need to do on the road. It is lightweight for me to tote along with me on the road and sleekly fits into my backpack or carryon luggage. The price and value were worth it as well. I haven't used it extensively yet, but used it in a hotel over the Christmas holiday and was able to do the work I needed to do with ease, which met my needs for why I purchased it.

Really nice ChromeOS based laptop.
Pros:
-Really great build quality - solid and rigid. Feels more expansive than it was (at least on Black Friday)
-Does not have a touch screen - I see others complaining about that, but I wouldn't want one on a laptop anyway.
-THIS BAD BOY HAS 8 GB of RAM, not 4 GB! This is a big deal!!
-This ChromeOS laptop supports LINUX.
Cons:
I see what others are saying about the keyboard, though backlit, being a bit difficult to see because of the contrast of the letters/numbers. Not a big deal for me because I touch-type.
This is a wonderful laptop and an absolute steal on black friday.

The only reason why its 4 stars and not 5 is because it a little hard to see the backlit keyboard.
And it actually gets updates!
Fast, snappy, a great chromebook! But not built for games.

Outstanding for the price i paid while on sale. Only complaint is the few standard buttons that they removed in this design, which you now must use shortcut keys to achieve (such as the delete button). Overall 4.5 out of 4.

Great hardware; Fast processing speed with most everything I've thrown at it; Crisp display with thin bezels provide quite the large screen for the overall size of the unit; Excellent track pad with great feel, nicely backlit keyboard; Near instant boot up when you open the lid; Nice and thin and lightweight.
ONLY TWO COMPLAINTS -
1) Only one USB drive port
2) Plasticky keyboard and operating surface feels and looks cheap and quite frankly out of place when compared to the rest of the unit's aluminum chassis.

Great little machine for the price. Perfect for web browsing and checking e-mail, streaming. Good battery life. No touch screen, but some people don't need it and to me it wasn't worth additional $50 for touch screen version. Overall, very satisfied with the purchase.

I've been using budget Chromebooks since 2013. This Asus C425 is, by far, the best budget model available right now if you don't need a touchscreen. The sale price of $120.00 was amazing for the solid build quality, 1080 screen, 8gb of Ram, great speakers and lightning fast processor. It's extremely light weight and only 1 1/2 inches wider than 11 1/2" models. I actually purchased two of these to replace my Lenovo 3 Chromebooks with N4020 processors.
