In Hindsight It Was Broken from the Start

It was plenty fast enough for an entry level gamer and professional video editor. However, within the first month I noticed a noise coming through the speakers. I thought it was just software related as it resolved itself after a restart. It would happen every now and then but again, I didn't think it was anything major and needing repair. My warranty ended a few months ago and last month I began having major audio problems which led to no audio at all. After several Windows reinstalls and weeks of troubleshooting software and drivers I decided to send it to ASUS for a $60 diagnosis. I'm told it's a $710 repair requiring a new motherboard. That's not going to happen.

Sound didn't work on this laptop.

Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just received this laptop yesterday and as I was setting up the new user settings, I was surprised I didn't hear any sound (from Cortana). I thought an update might fix it. After all the updates were installed, sound still did not work. I've tried reinstalling drivers and nothing works. Will definitely be returning for replacement. Besides the sounds, everything else is beautiful. I just really hate that this had to be a problem.

This laptop was delivered on 9/29/2020 and yesterday 11/10/2020 the audio output jack is no longer working and it is outside of the return window. Otherwise it has been a good laptop.

Laptop is great until it crashed

Open box

I brought the laptop back to store and they said they forgot to clear it up so it took one hour for them to set up. I used the computer for a little bit and it was fine but after 2 weeks I was trying to download mcafee on the computer it was saying drive c is full which means it was not cleaned up properly momery is still there from the last purchase. I called Best Buy and they say they cannot do anything so I have to call the manufacturer.

No FPS (Frames per second)

The nvidia graphics card doesn't work and while I was running my 3d software it never kicked in....not once. I even went into Global settings for the Nvidia graphics card and set it to use graphics card only and all I ever got was 40 to 50 FPS. For gamers and 3D rendering applications this is a joke. For the exhorbant price I paid I should have at least had 150 to 190 FPS. I've had this less than a week and yes I am returning it.

Crashes a lot

But as the months went by, it would blue screen or crash at least once a month while doing simple computing tasks, like browsing the internet. I also noticed that whenever I was gaming it would get super hot and the fans would blow very hard and loud. A few times it crashed while I was gaming. It completely died on me not even two years after I bought it--screen went black, couldn't hard reboot it, couldn't access any of my data.

Dissappointed.

Laptop got knocked off table by my dogs and screen is now cracked and nobody can get a replacement screen. Look elsewhere.

Totally disgusted

Took it to Best Buy and they said there was water damage and $1400 to fix it. Absolutely not! I’m a certified computer tech....do you really think I’d dump liquid on my own system then bring it in? I’ve seen water damage and the little spec the called liquid damage was a manufacturing defect...not liquid! Dell, Asus, IBM/Lenovo and Apple certified.

Waste of time....not for gaming.

After spending 5 hours downloading all the stuff I needed for it...big flag pops up and states its not compatible.... at this price there is no reason it should have an inappropriate card in it. I'm not sure WHAT games this laptop is supposed to be compatible with....tried World of Warcraft and it is glitchy.

It Kinda sucks

Keypad and monitor stops working void disabling keyboard and tablet mode. Touch screen freezes and you have to restart to get everything functioning. I purchased warranty through best buy only to be told they don't fix sensor pad or monitor. Don't try to download anything... one word-slow. Processing speed sucks

mechanical problems 2 weeks after purchase

The Geek Squad techs have been unable to extract any data from the hard drive so I am left with nothing. I would expect a $1,400 laptop to last longer especially since I am not a hard user. This will probably be my last ASUS product. Very disappointed.
