Do understand your disappointment and the inconvenience this may have caused you if the WIFI and sound device did not working properly.
To resolve the network connection related issue, please verify if the onboard WIFI device was enabled, it is within range to an established wireless router or access point and internet service is working properly.
Regarding the sound problem, please check inside the Volume Properties if the correct output device was sleceted and the volume level was set to the correct listening level and not muted.

Good while it worked.

It's unfortunate to hear that the motherboard gave out. This is absolutely not the kind of experience we want any of our customers to have. Have you tried a hard reset? If not, please attempt these steps:
1. Unplug the charger
2. Press and hold the power button for 1 full minute
3. Plug in only the charger and press the power button to start up normally

Excellent Laptop

Ive owned this for about 3 years and ive only had to replace the battery in the last year. It does great with every program ive used. Its fast and it has withstood my 3 year old on many occasions. Great buy!

Having had great luck with my previous ASUS, I decided to check out another one at my local Best Buy and found this one. I've been super impressed with the solid quality, features and speed of this model for all of my business needs. I'm not a gamer, so I don't use it for that, but what a beautiful display! I also love the fact that it is a 360 degree "flip" model with touch screen that can be used alternately as a tablet and the SDD 1TB hard drive is super fast and huge, which is something I prefer in running my business affairs. I'm puzzled that Best Buy is not touting the fact here that this is a flip model, which is a very cool feature, but they should. I looked at and researched a lot of laptops before finding this one. Don't dither... buy this laptop if your needs are similar to mine. You won't be disappointed.

Great Specs but had major flaws

All the problems below are my unique experiences with Asus. I’ve owned a Dell & Lenovo & never had these problems: 1. Too often I would be in the middle of using the laptop & the screen would go black & the keyboard no longer works but the power light is still on. It’s like sleep mode got activated even though I was in the middle of typing on the keyboard. Then it goes black & frozen. Unlike sleep mode it hadn’t been idle when screen went black & when I touch laptop screen or keyboard to get it to wake up, nothing happens. Sometimes it’ll turn back on 5 min later but more often it never does unless I turn computer manually off then on again. Then I get a msg basically saying something like your computer turned off unexpectedly or improperly except it wasn’t me who turned off computer. Sometimes pressing the power button until my finger hurts still won’t turn off the laptop when it’s in blackout mode. I’ve asked around & other Asus users have also experienced this problem. It’s definitely not a software issue but an Asus hardware issue because there was nothing wrong with my computer when it was on except for this & other hardware issues below. 2. The power cord keeps popping out if you actually use laptop on your lap when you move. My old Dell didn’t do this. 3. Power adapter popped out so often that eventually the internal adapter receptor broke & no matter if I replace with an Asus or any other compatible adapter, the laptop would no longer turn on or recharge properly 4. Asus needs to make a much sturdier & bigger power port & plug so the power cord stays plugged in better. 5. Plus place the power receptor (or whatever the place where you plug in adapter to laptop is called) in the back of laptop so users aren’t forced to sit or place laptop only in one direction bc the power port is only on the rt side of the laptop. 6. What saved me was buying the Best Buy accident hardware 3yr warranty When the laptop was working properly the features were wonderful but that’s like saying when my car could turn on and when I had control of the steering wheel it was a great car.

Good for the price

It's fast and handles all my photo software easily. The 4K screen is extremely nice but who on earth decided to put a gloss screen on this? The first thing I did was buy a good anti glare matte filter for the screen. Two other negatives: you cannot update the RAM as there is no DIMM slot that ASUS could have easily added and the graphic processor is the older type, not the faster current RTX. If you want it for games look elsewhere. You can get these points addressed with other ASUS products if you're prepared to pay a lot more. Still, even with these negatives, other than the gloss screen I think it's a great laptop for the price - it's "extremely" well made and very fast. Boots up in a few seconds. Opens apps in a few seconds, etc. I only knocked off a star for the reasons above, but for general use or heavy photo editing you won't be disappointed. One thing I loved about this, is unlike other companies laptops this is not loaded up with a lot of Microsoft and other garbage trial software you don't want.

Died in a yr - new motherboard will cost $1K

I bought this laptop less than a year ago as an open box item and it no longer holds a charge. I took it to both Best Buy and another computer repair shop and they said the charging cover is missing and has caused damage to the motherboard and the motherboard would need to be replaced - at the same cost as a new computer. I wasted $900.

Great Specs but Annoying Fan Ruins It
