Entry level PC that works with Oculus Quest
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this PC to use with my Oculus Quest. I wanted something that could run VR applications and games. I know I could have gotten more bang for my buck going with a desktop, but needed a laptop because my computer room is too small to play VR applications, so needed something I could take to larger spaces, such as my garage. I am happy to report that this laptop has handled everything I've thrown at it. For less than $900, I couldn't be happier. Since I am using it primarily for VR, the 60 Hz screen is not an issue. The fan does get quite loud, and I use a cooling pad to further pull heat away, as it it does run very hot when using with VR. So far, I've kept it connected to power while gaming, so can't speak to the battery life, but I can't imagine getting more than an hour. For non gaming applications; internet, word processor, etc., the battery lasts for a little 3 hours with settings set to battery saver. I did replace the ram with a stick of 16gb and added a 1TB hdd. However, before doing it was already running solidly. Even with the extra money spent, still easily within my budget. My only complaint, as others have mentioned, is the track pad. It is atrociously inconsistent. I can be scrolling along, and then it becomes completely unresponsive, both to swipes and taps. I connected a USB mouse to it to bypass this issue.

Powerful laptop at a affordable price!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Asus TUF A15 is one of the most exciting gaming laptops that I wanted consider. This laptop is pack to the brim with powerful technology at an affordable price. CPU and GPU The TUF FA506IV Gaming Laptop comes with AMD’s latest mobile processors, the 4000 series. The 4000 series are cooler, faster, and more powerful than its intel competitors. It also comes with NVidia RTX 2060 graphics for ray tracing support at below 1000 dollars! A never seen deal in RTX laptops. Memory: This laptop is rocking an 8 GB single channel ram setup. I would recommend you upgrade the ram to 16 GB dual channel by placing another 8 GB ram in there. The benchmarks and game test I will be doing below is all with 16 GBs of ram. Storage: With storage, it comes with 512 GB Western Digital M.2 SSD. There is also another slot M.2 slot where you can expand your drive capacity. Crystal Disk Mark shows that this SSD can Read up to 2473.66 MB/s and write up to 1790.57 MB/s. Really Fast! Screen: The screen is a 1080p 60 HZ display with bright enough screen with a color accuracy of 62.1% sRGB, 43.2% AdobeRGB, 44.3% DCI P3. Really good for a powerful budget laptop! Battery This model comes with a 48 Watt hour battery. For battery Life I saw a 6-hour usage of watching YouTube and doing light tasks (night and day compared to my old laptop at 30 minutes). Gaming on this laptop with get you around one hour (AMAZING!!). Temperature and Cooling: A lot of people have problems with this laptops cooling. However, I did not experience this issue. When gaming on Turbo mode, I saw a max temperature of 87C on the CPU and 80C on the RTX 2060. These are well below the temperature limit of both. At idle, the laptop stayed around 37C for CPU and 42C for GPU on silent mode and the fans turn off too. Near the back you can see two exhaust and an air intake in the middle. The laptop has another exhaust on the right side of the laptop. The keyboard also acts as an air intake and the WASD area stays cool to the touch during intense gaming. Keyboard and Trackpad: The keyboard feels really nice like Asus’s higher tier ROG laptops, and the RGB on the keyboard is a single zone addressable RGB adjustable in Armory Crate. When plug in and in sleeping mode, the keyboard will produce an exciting light show! The track pad is high quality and the click buttons are dedicated with a very satisfying click This laptop does not gather finger prints and it is very easy to wipe clean. Design and ports: The back panel on this laptop is made with metal and have the TUF logo laser on the panel, it looks really slick and does not spit gamer when using It for work or school. Overall this laptop looks really tuf and could withstand a drop here or there in school or work place. For ports, on the right you get a single USB slot, on the left you get the charge port, Ethernet, 2 USB, one USB type c, and headphone combo jack. This is a really neat design choice as no wires will interfere with your mouse on the right side. On the bottom of the laptop you will see a really cool honeycomb design with air intakes designed into it. Lastly, this laptop is really light weight coming in at 4.73 LB for the laptop and 6.42 LB for the laptop and the charger. It’s easy to carry compared to my old laptop. Great Gaming Laptop and Minecraft Ray Tracing
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first non-work PC I’ve bought for gaming after nearly 2 decades of being a mac user and console gamer, and I love it so far. I was lucky enough to get it on sale for $799, which for the price this thing is incredible. I’m blown away by the RTX Minecraft ray tracing worlds this can do for example, and I honestly wasn’t expecting the mobile 2060 to be as good as it is, but then again my only real comparison is PS4 Pro and XboxOne X as I haven’t really been a PC gamer before. This laptop does seem to handle Rocket League much better than my Xbox One X, and the SSD load times are amazingly fast. Flight Simulator 2020 also works a lot better than I expected it to on this laptop, which was one of the main games I wanted a PC for. The only negatives are the fan/heat and screen. You do need a fan/lapdesk to actually play on your lap due to heat and poor cooling system. The screen itself looks great, but it is a lot dimmer than I’d like and of course limited to 60hz—-but considering the 144hz version was 50% more than what I paid for this one, I have zero real complaints for the price. Battery life isn’t the best, but you get an extra SSD/HDD slot for the trade, which I prefer. Upgradeability: Upgrading it was quite easy, although the plastic cover was a bit hard to get off, and you do need at least 16gb ram; having run it for a while on both 16gb and 32gb I do recommend 32gb though—-this made a very noticeable difference for example on “totally accurate battle simulator”. At 16gb the game would run kind of slow and choppy at times, but at 32gb this laptop runs it amazingly well with zero issues or lag. Adding the included 2.5” SSD adapter was a bit more annoying than I anticipated as the instructions aren’t the clearest, but I was able to figure it out after some frustration and got it working no problem as well with an added 1tb ssd. I love the ability to add three drives though, coming from being primarily a mac user to toying with something so upgradeable is a very nice change of pace. Overall I’d highly recommend this laptop if you find it on sale close to the $799 that I paid on a pre Black Friday sale, it’s an absolute steal at that price—-at $999 it is still worth considering given the specs and ease of upgrading, although at closer to the $999 range I’d probably want a better screen.

60hz Refresh Rate BUT the Performance it's a BEAST
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. You really have to understand what you paying for this laptop. While there's downside like smaller battery (roughly 4 hours web browsing with music), 60hz screen instead 144hz and etc, the graphic card that came with it and the processor it's absobutely a beast. You will not able to get a laptop with Ryzen 7 with RTX 2060 under $1000 anywhere. Gaming performance it's top notch, I can easily max out any games graphic without affecting my FPS (above 60). Among all the gaming laptop I use, this laptop fans really kick in! When I say it kick in, no joke it's loud BUT IT DOESN'T GET HOT EVEN SUMMER while gaming!!!! Like many reviewer mentioned, additional ram definitely it's a must. I will definitely recommend to my friends if it ever get back in stock.

great laptop for home use
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.was the best deal on a laptop with a 2060 . had it for 2 weeks and havant had any problems. i did change the way the cpu kicked in . which i got the info from reddit laptop deals. apparently it runs a little hot if you dont do that. it wasnt hard to do. the Screen is only 60 hz which isnt optimal but I use it at home and im going to get a 144 hz monitor to plug it into. the trackpad is terrible. it works for the most part but still its really annoying how it wont read your touch sometimes . other than that I love this thing. gonna order 16 gb of ram for it and get a monitor. really I rather get a better screen than one that comes with a laptop anyway.

Powerful laptop that could use a better screen
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great laptop for gaming and productivity. Can run Warzone at over 100 FPS. Screen isn’t great, and it’s only 60hz, so you won’t enjoy those higher frames unless you hook up to an external monitor. Got it on sale for a great price, and if you plan on using a separate monitor, I highly recommend this laptop. Does run a bit hot, but not nearly as bad as I’d read before buying. If you don’t plan on using MSI afterburner, you’ll be perfectly fine.

Worth every penny!
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There’s a lot of mixed online reviews about this laptop but actually buying and using it will prove that most of the negative reviews are just nitpicking on what is among the best bang-for-buck laptops on the market. Setup is easy and all the updates are readily available. I must admit, I am not a power user when it comes to games (mostly used for racing simulators, Batman Arkham series, and my kids’ games - which includes fall guy these days) all graphics are smooth without any glitches or crashes. Connection points to peripherals are sufficient for this price point with 3 USB type-A ports and a single USB type-C port. There is also the obligatory HDMI port for an external display. Temps seem to be higher than expected especially during the summer here in California but it’s nothing a $30 cooling pad from Best Buy can’t solve. In fact, before the cooling pad, I just used a notebook to elevate the screen side of the base and even that seemed to help. The RGB keyboard is bright and cycles through different colors which complements the razer keyboard and mouse set I have. However that’s not something that makes or breaks a laptop in my opinion. Definitely worth the money and I can’t seem to understand why you would spend thousands on a gaming laptop if you can get this for under a grand

Good computer and a great price.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great computer for the money. It has a a great deal of power and the 2060 is a relatively good card. The heat can get high, not sure many laptops at this price point don't. This is only when stressing the system. However, this is not sustained but just a spike. The screen is what most people might have a problem with but it gets the job done. Again considering the price tremendous performance for the price!

Asus - FA506IV-BR7N12 Review
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far I love it, very powerful laptop for the price. I would recommend getting more space and maybe more ram. The only real downside is the amount of heat and needed to be plugged in to use all the power. I bought this to see if I were to build a gaming pc and use it, I'm happy to say I am going to build one and I can't wait.

Good value
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop has some flaws. It can get pretty hot, and throttles games when it does (I had to buy a cooling pad). Also, it only came with 8GB of ram, and the screen doesn't look as good as other computers. However, the combination of graphics card and CPU can run most games out there, and it even works for VR.

Awesome laptop
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’m relatively new to the world of pc’s and my first laptop. But a ton of research I settled on this machine. I was mainly looking for a combo of good cpu & gpu performance and this is it. Surprisingly good build quality. Looks and feels nice. I did have a small issue with screen sharing on zoom. After much time trying to figure out the problem I decided to exchange it and see if’s a fluke. Other then that it does have less then optimum cooling, look it up on YouTube, and as other reviews mentioned the panel isn’t 144htz and not the best color range but overall is really good. For the price you can’t expect everything but it’s a great laptop. For a laptop.

A Bottlenecking Screen
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this laptop a few days ago before BestBuy ended up changing the listing by removing the picture that stated that the screen was 144hz which made this laptop an amazing deal despite the 48wh battery and only 8gb of ram. As other reviews have stated, the screen is only 60hz which is severely underpowered when compared to the rest of the hardware. I did notice the laptop did get hot when using it and the color accuracy is mediocre. The hardware is good for the price but the monitor basically kills the deal. I will be returning this and plan on picking up a better model.

Black Friday value
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought on Black Friday for 799 so, Value for price it’s great. Yes it run a little hot. Fans can be turned up. Yes the panel on this is not the best. But what it has under the hood can complete with desktops. I added 2 8gb (16 gb) so it will run in dual channel and that help to pick up more power. Take note that if you buy memory to upgrade it do not buy memory that needs an XMP profile and the voltage increased to reach a speed of 3200mhz. IT WILL NOT WORK!!! You need memory that runs at 1.2 volts with a JEDEC profile that automatically runs at 3200MHZ.

Best Gaming laptop under 1000
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great gaming laptop for the price. To get the full performance i would definitely recommend adding atleast 8gb more ram, there is an empty slot. Also there is an empty Nvme ssd port as well so upgrading memory is easy too. Would give 5 stars if i didn't have to add ram and ssd myself. Only one downside is the laptop gets too hot while gaming. I found out it was because the ryzen 7 processor was always running on 100% capacity so to fix it all i did was limit it to run at 99% capacity while i am gaming and temps fell below 80 degrees which is normal while gaming.

Insane specs with compromises
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. You've seen the specs, you know they are great. I got mine on sale for 900. You can't find even a desktop for 900 with these specs. I mainly wanted to talk about the thermals. If you've seen some reviews you probably have heard that this device runs hot. To be exact mine hit 90 degrees Celsius and over. That's just to hot for any computer. Asus claims it's a safe temperature but I don't buy it. If you didn't know high temperatures decrease the lifespan of the computer. Overall the specs are amazing, all it needs is some more ram and your set. Just be aware of those temps.

Great 60hz gaming at Ultra settings 2060RTX
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great 60fps gaming at Ultra Settings. I got the mega deal for this at 799. Added 1 tb NVME SSD for about 100. Bought 16 gigs of ram and took the 1 8gb out. For less than a grand I have one of the best gaming laptops at 60hz less than 1500. When traveling for work I carry a 24inch monitor and a bluetooth keyboard, mouse and xbox one controller. The setup works flawlessly. It does get a hot during extended gaming so don't keep it on your lap. I put min on a cheap 20 dollar cooler at home and run cables to a desk monitor.

Solid but...
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop works good, and for the sale it was on it is great. But, I’m very confused about the thermal setup of this computer, the fans are pretty small and the intakes on the bottom of the chassis aren’t even over the fans themselves. And the computer does get pretty loud as well but that is expected with a laptop. But it works well, just wish that the cooling solution was better.
